Borrowing constraints and credit demand: evidence for Uruguay
This paper analyses the determinants of credit demand in the presence of borrowing constraints for Uruguayan economy. I model the determinants of debt level for Uruguayan households taking into account selection bias and endogeneity of household income and non-real estate assets. I found differences considering the type of debt that families face; mortgage and consumer debt. For instance, in average, income-to-debt elasticities are smaller than one for both type of debt. Additionally, consumer debt income elasticity is smaller compared to mortgage debt. Besides, in average age-to-debt semi-elasticity are negatives for any type of debt. The effect is larger in consumer debt compared to mortgage debt. However, variable age is not statistically significant in determining debt semi-elasticity. In addition, I find evidence of sample selection for any type of debt, but I do not find evidence of endogeneity for consumer debt, nor for mortgage debt
THE INDIVIDUAL FACING THE PANDEMIC
This text is an essay in which the authors present their reflections about the pandemic situation caused by the spread of the new coronavirus Sars-CoV-2. The pandemic context has intensified several social issues faced by Brazilian society, a time when psycho-social reflections are necessary to position ourselves as human beings capable of changes and adaptations to the experienced reality. In this perspective, the text in question aims to provoke readers to critically observe the situation experienced from new perspectives, which go beyond the health calamity, as well as reflect on new educational possibilities and dialogues brought by the social isolation scenarioThis text is an essay in which the authors present their reflections about the pandemic situation caused by the spread of the new coronavirus Sars-CoV-2. Correlation between caseload, number of judges and judicial performance in brazilian Federal Courts
The demand for judicial services in Brazil unceasingly increases, and despite investments made in workforce and technology, and the creation of new judicial units, the Judiciary has not been able to reduce the caseload. In this context, this paper aims to identify the correlation between caseload, number of judges and judicial performance in Brazilian Federal Courts. Secondary official data were analyzed statistically by linear correlation analysis. The main results indicate a lack of correlation between demand and the number of judges in the courts; positive correlation between demand and court performance; and negative correlation between the number of judges and productivity of the courts. At the end of the text, we will be discussing the theoretical and practical implications of the findings

Comparative Analysis of Sibutramine Concentration Determination: Gravimetric Methods vs. FTIR RMSE Technique in Pharmaceutical Compositions
This paper underscores the practical implications of employing FTIR RMSE analysis in pharmaceutical research. It highlights the method\u27s rapid and non-destructive nature for quantifying drug concentration in complex formulations, emphasizing its significance in pharmaceutical quality assurance. The study advocates for integrating FTIR RMSE with conventional gravimetric and volumetric methods to enhance the analytical toolkit for pharmaceutical compound analysis. Furthermore, it elucidates the potential of FTIR RMSE in expediting analytical processes and improving estimation accuracy. The paper accentuates the synergy between classical gravimetric techniques and modern spectroscopic methods, providing valuable insights into pharmaceutical compound analysis within heterogeneous formulations. In terms of contributions, this paper advances analytical methods in pharmaceutical research by comprehensively exploring traditional gravimetric/volumetric techniques alongside Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) coupled with Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) analysis. It assesses their effectiveness in determining drug concentrations, mainly focusing on sibutramine quantification, a complex active pharmaceutical ingredient. The results indicate a strong correlation (R² = 0.987) between the two methodologies, with FTIR RMSE consistently yielding slightly higher results due to its sensitivity to molecular structural fluctuations and component interactions. In conclusion, this study advocates for integrating FTIR RMSE into pharmaceutical research practices. It emphasizes the need for calibration and refinement of this technique to further enhance estimation accuracy and analytical precision. It underscores the pivotal role of advanced analytical methods in various applications, including pharmaceutical and biomedical fields
Estimaciones numéricas espaciales en la recalibración propioceptiva
Research has emphasized that the body's position in space and patterns of visual searching for stimuli are crucial variables to explain the ability to estimate distances numerically. In this paper, we tested the hypothesis that proprioception recalibration interferes in the ability to numerically estimate fixed peri-personal space. The Rubber Hand Illusion (RHI) experimental paradigm was applied as a tool to temporally manipulate the sense of proprioception in participant’s right hand. Seventeen college students were asked to estimate fixed horizontal spatial cues before and after two conditions of tactile stimulation within RHI (synchronous versus asynchronous stroking). Results evidenced that proprioceptive recalibration of the hand were temporally altered by both stroking patterns. However, the effects of numerically estimate fixed horizontal cues towards the body midline were only consistently observed in the synchronous stroking condition. Those findings suggest that numerical estimates of peri-personal fixed cues are strongly associated with proprioceptive recalibration, corroborating the literature on multisensory integration of perception.
