The present review is divided in two chapters. The first chapter addresses the stage component in community pharmacy, while the second chapter describes the investigation work.
The stage in community pharmacy was realized in the Luciano & Matos pharmacy in Coimbra, with a total of 800 hours. In this chapter the physical space of the pharmacy and the staff team is presented, as well all the activities experienced during the 5 month period.
The main goal of the investigation work was to evaluate the pharmacist intervention in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 in a community pharmacy context. 10 cases of pharmaceutical care realized between 2011 and 2013 based on the Dáder method where studied. The data from the cases where handed by a community pharmacy based in Portugal. Due to ethic and confidentiality reasons this pharmacy was designed within the work as the “study pharmacy”. Most of the patients had several health conditions uncontrolled. In one case the patient was doubling one medication and three other cases where reported to the respective patient doctors, which resulted in a therapeutic change. With this work it was possible to enhance the importance of the pharmacist, but also indentify some difficulties and outcomes in the implementation of the pharmaceutical care
OHL Assessment and Risk Evaluation Based on Environmental and Inspection Data
REN – Rede Eléctrica Nacional, S.A., Portuguese Transmission System Operator (TSO), has been using LiDAR technology in their aerial inspections. The acquired three-dimensional data in this Power Line Maintenance System are automatically processed, with support of the video inspections and geo-referenced systems. The national transmission grid was fully characterized at span level with urbanization and vegetation growth rate indices. The collection of historical data, together with the knowledge of asset characteristics and system operation conditions, is structured in a generalized relational database, extended with a comprehensive set of different environmental, meteorological and geographic data over the years. A methodology to evaluate operational risk was developed, taking into account the probabilistic nature of contingencies and their severity under specific operating conditions. Risk indices provide an insight to operators of the network state and of the constraints that operators face. Different optimization tools are also being developed.authorsversionpublishe
Preliminary study on growth traits of F1 (Faldostana x Nellore) and nellore cattle from birth to weaning in the state of Acre ABSTRACT: Birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW, 205 days) and daily gain from birth to weaning (GBW) of 75 Nellore and 107 crossbred Valdostana x Nellore cattle were investigated. Data were collected from 2000 to 2001 at "Fazenda São Luis", Capixaba-Acre. The model included the fixed effects of breed of bulls (R), corporal condition of the cows (CC), month of birth (MB) and, as covariates, the difference between the weight of the cow at parturition and at insemination (DWPI) and the age of cow (AC) as linear and quadratic. Data were submitted to statistical analyses using the procedure GLM of SAS program. Least squares means and standard errors of Nellore and Valdostana x Nellore were respectively: BW 34.69±0.90 and 32.85±0.91; WW 212.93±4.15; 215.75±4.47; GBW 0.87±0.029; 0.89±0.02. Significant differences were found among: breeds (P<0.05) for BW; CC (P<0.01) for BW and (P<0.05) for WW; DWI (P<0.01) for BW and GBW. The values found in the present work were higher than those reported in other papers that investigated on Nellore cattle and its crosses with European breeds raised in different regions

Spatially resolved self-consistent spectral modelling of jellyfish galaxies from MUSE with FADO: trends with mass and stripping intensity
We present a spatially resolved stellar population analysis of 61 jellyfish
galaxies and 47 control galaxies observed with ESO/MUSE attempting to
understand the general trends of the stellar populations as a function of the
stripping intensity and mass. This is the public sample from the GASP
programme, with and .
We apply the spectral population synthesis code FADO to fit self-consistently
both the stellar and nebular contributions to the spectra of the sources. We
present 2D morphological maps for mean stellar ages, metallicities, gas-phase
oxygen abundances, and star formation rates for the galaxies with Integrated
Nested Laplace Approximation ({\sc inla}), which is efficient in reconstructing
spatial data of extended sources. We find that ``extreme stripping'' and
``stripping'' galaxies are typically younger than the other types. Regarding
stellar and nebular metallicities, the ``stripping'' and ``control passive''
galaxies are the most metal-poor. Based on the phase space for jellyfish
cluster members we find trends in ages, metallicities, and abundances with
different regions of the diagram. We also compute radial profiles for the same
quantities. We find that both the stripping and the stellar masses seem to
influence the profiles, and we see differences between various groups and
distinct mass bins. The radial profiles for different mass bins present
relations already shown in the literature for undisturbed galaxies, i.e.,
profiles of ages and metallicities tend to increase with mass. However, beyond
effective radius, the ages of the most massive galaxies become
similar to or lower than the ages of the lower mass ones.Comment: Accepted by MNRAS. 71 pages (13 of main text and 58 of supplementay
