Sulle ragioni laiche dell’impegno della Repubblica alla tutela e alla valorizzazione dei beni culturali religiosi e di interesse religioso

The contribution focuses on the constitutional reasons that impose on the Republic to safeguard and enhance the historical and artistic heritage of the Nation, even when it has a religious relevance. In particular, the A. outlines that this protection has to be connected to the humanistic value of culture and does not constitute a way to endorse, even implicitly, a specific ideological and faith message. This eventuality would in fact be in contrast with the essence of the democratic constitutional state and would constitute an insuperable obstacle for an appreciation, in an inclusive sense, of the cultural heritage of the Natio

Sport and Integration of Migrants: Some Considerations

    Get PDF
The potential of sport for the inclusion of minorities is widely acknowledged. Being a non-verbal language, sport is particularly useful to ease the integration of the migrants in the hosting societies; in the present world – in which migrations are one of the most debated issues of the political arena – it can be a valid tool to create a more inclusive society. However, the potential of sport should not be overestimated, mainly because of the limits of its role and the barriers that hinder the participation of migrants. In this context, the role of scholars, which can provide useful tools of knowledge, is essential

The Chilean final of 1976 Davis Cup had major repercussions in the Italian press, both in sports and political newspapers, because of the debate on the Italian participation: three years earlier, indeed, Augusto Pinochet’s putsch had overthrown the socialist government of Salvador Allende and in Italy, as well as in all Europe, the movement of solidarity with the Chilean people was continuing. Furthermore, playing in the National Stadium of Santiago, one of the symbols of the repression, was a reason for major indignation. The article aims at reconstructing the journalistic debate of the autumn 1976, underlining how a sports phenomenon may turn into the central topic of a political and cultural case of great relevance.

Retrospective analysis of dog bites in Southern Italy

ABSTRACT: Dog bite is one of the major public health problems involving people worldwide. Although, several studies have investigated this phenomenon in different countries, little information about the incidence of dog bite episodes in Italy is available. We analysed data about dog biting events between 2010 and 2019 provided by the CRIUV, the Regional Reference Centre for Veterinary Urban Hygiene in the largest city of Southern Italy, namely. Naples. We observed severe and profound inconsistencies in the data collection that reveal structural and significant weaknesses of the current data collection system. Given the multifactorial nature of dog bite, we highlight the need to improve the gathering of all the information related to the factors affecting the occurrence of biting episodes for an accurate assessment of the biting phenomenon

On the usability of augmented reality devices for interactive risk assessment

The use of Augmented Reality (AR) technologies is the new challenge of management models born under the “Industry 4.0” paradigm. The aim of the work is to evaluate the usability of two types of AR devices (tablet and see-through) employed in the training and information activities of workers according to the ISO/IEC 9126 and ISO 9241 standards. Starting from the state of the art, evaluating market and competitors and developing different concepts of interfaces, a dedicated application was programmed and, then, the usability of such devices for the professional figures involved was evaluated through experimental tests. Two reference scenarios were defined, the Department of Industrial Engineering of University of Naples Federico II and INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work) laboratories, an user interface was designed and developed, as an aid in the drafting of the document for risk evaluation and subsequent training of workers. The activity is part of the IDEE Project (Interactive Design for Ergonomics), born by the collaboration between Joint Lab IDEAS and Contarp-INAIL-Regional Management for Campania. The data analysis allowed to evaluate the goodness of the devices and the degree of satisfaction in their use on the basis of the sample of users who conducted the tests. The use of AR devices produces better results than paperwork in terms of efficiency and effectiveness, but not all devices produce appreciable results in terms of user satisfaction. Although AR technologies are mature, the tasks need to be carefully defined to avoid rejection phenomena. The strong expectation, that they generate in potential users, risks to remain disappointed today for some usability limits found in currently available devices. It is necessary to start testing in pilot applications in various industrial fields in order to capture in time and adequately support this opportunity of innovation in Italy

Bilateral Corneal Perforation in a Patient with Chronic Ocular Graft-Versus-Host Disease: A Case Report and Literature Review

    Get PDF
Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a serious complication that may occur in patients receiving allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). GVHD occurs because of the immunological reaction between the donor’s T cells and the recipient’s antigens; GVHD may develop in different tissues, including the eye. Corneal perforation is an uncommon but vision-threatening manifestation of GVHD. We reported the case of a 65-year-old male patient who developed corneal perforation sequentially in both eyes 3 years after receiving HSCT. Conservative treatment with topical steroids and lubricants, bandage contact lens, and lacrimal punctal occlusion surgery resulted in the successful resolution of the corneal perforation with satisfactory visual recovery in the right eye. Therefore, corneal perforation can occur as the presenting manifestation of ocular GVHD. Regular ophthalmological examinations are recommended after HSCT to enable the early diagnosis of ocular GVHD and prompt treatment initiation

Distal Pancreatectomy with Celiac Axis Resection: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

    Get PDF
Background: Major vascular invasion represents one of the most frequent reasons to consider pancreatic adenocarcinomas unresectable, although in the last decades, demolitive surgeries such as distal pancreatectomy with celiac axis resection (DP-CAR) have become a therapeutical option. Methods: A meta-analysis of studies comparing DP-CAR and standard DP in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma was conducted. Moreover, a systematic review of studies analyzing oncological, postoperative and survival outcomes of DP-CAR was conducted. Results: Twenty-four articles were selected for the systematic review, whereas eleven were selected for the meta-analysis, for a total of 1077 patients. Survival outcomes between the two groups were similar in terms of 1 year overall survival (OS) (odds ratio (OR) 0.67, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.34 to 1.31, p = 0.24). Patients who received DP-CAR were more likely to have T4 tumors (OR 28.45, 95% CI 10.46 to 77.37, p < 0.00001) and positive margins (R+) (OR 2.28, 95% CI 1.24 to 4.17, p = 0.008). Overall complications (OR, 1.72, 95% CI, 1.15 to 2.58, p = 0.008) were more frequent in the DP-CAR group, whereas rates of pancreatic fistula (OR 1.16, 95% CI 0.81 to 1.65, p = 0.41) were similar. Conclusions: DP-CAR was not associated with higher mortality compared to standard DP; however, overall morbidity was higher. Celiac axis involvement should no longer be considered a strict contraindication to surgery in patients with locally advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Considering the different baseline tumor characteristics, DP-CAR may need to be compared with palliative therapies instead of standard DP
