    Intrarater and Inter-rater Reliability of Active Cervical Range of Motion in Patients With Nonspecific Neck Pain Measured With Technological and Common Use Devices: A Systematic Review With Meta-regression

    Objectives The purpose of this systematic review was to compare intrarater and inter-rater reliability of active cervical range of motion (ACROM) measures obtained with technological devices to those assessed with low-cost devices in patients with nonspecific neck pain. As a secondary outcome, we investigated if ACROM reliability is influenced by the plane of the assessed movement. Methods Medline, Scopus, Embase, the Cochrane Library, CINHAL, PEDro, and gray literature were searched until August 2016. Inclusion criteria were reliability design, population of adults with nonspecific neck pain, examiners of any level of experience, measures repeated at least twice, and statistical indexes on reliability. A device was considered inexpensive if it cost less than \ue2\u82\uac500. The risk of bias of included studies was assessed by Quality Appraisal of Reliability Studies. Results The search yielded 35 151 records. Nine studies met all eligibility criteria. Their Quality Appraisal of Reliability Studies mean score was 3.7 of 11. No significant effect of the type of device (inexpensive vs expensive) on intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was identified for intrarater (ICC = 0.93 vs 0.91; P >.99) and inter-rater reliability (ICC = 0.80 vs 0.87; P >.99). The plane of movement did not affect inter-rater reliability (P =.11). Significant influences were identified with intrarater reliability (P =.0001) of inexpensive devices, where intrarater reliability decreased (P =.01) in side bending, compared with flexion-extension. Conclusions The use of expensive devices to measure ACROM in adults with nonspecific neck pain does not seem to improve the reliability of the assessment.     Hypoglycemia symptoms and awareness of hypoglycemia in type 1 diabetes mellitus : cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Portuguese version of three questionnaires and evaluation of its risk factors

    Background: To adapt and validate the Clarke and Gold questionnaires and the Edinburgh Hypoglycemia Symptom Scale (EHSS) to Brazilian Portuguese and to determine the prevalence and risk factors associated with impaired awareness of hypoglycemia (IAH) in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Methods: The process of translation, cultural adaptation, and validation of the questionnaires followed the recommendations of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR)-Task Force for Translation and Cultural Adaptation. Patients with T1DM for a minimum of 12 months, aged 18 years or older, and with Brazilian nationality were selected to participate. Results: A total of 123 patients were enrolled. The Clarke and Gold questionnaires as well as the EHSS exhibited adequate internal consistency, test–retest reliability, and convergent validity. The prevalence of IAH was 38.3% with the Clarke questionnaire and 25.2% with the Gold questionnaire. The prevalence increased with longer duration of diabetes, lower HbA1c, and lower eGFR. Conclusions: The validation and cross-cultural adaptation of the proposed questionnaires to Brazilian Portuguese were adequate.     L’APP Mind Inclusion: la tecnologia assistiva per promuovere l’inclusione sociale delle persone con disabilità intelletive nella loro comunità

    Information and Communication Technologies have been widely used to enhance evidencebased interventions in the education and training of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The use of Information and Communication Technologies for these purposes is called Assistive Technology. Assistive technology is able to support persons with intellectual disabilities to live fuller and richer lives in their communities, supporting more successful functioning across multiple domains: independent living and inclusion in community.This study has the aim to present and explain the development of an assistive technology tool for persons with intellectual disabilities, the Mind Inclusion APP which can allow persons with intellectual disabilities to search and reach for a location or an activity in their community. The APP was co-created through the support of a participatory design and a person centred approach.A sample of 48 people, including persons with disabilities, caregivers, educators and business owners, was involved at all stages of the project. This study has shown that persons with disabilities can interact better, be part of their society more easily, and learn new skills reducing the impact of disability on daily functioning by using the Mind Inclusion APP

    Accesible co-creation tools for people with intellectual disabilities: working for and with end-users

    [EN] In a world defined by rapid change, the search for solutions to societal challenges has become more complex calling for new paradigms of innovation focused on collaborations with the community and users. Cocreation approaches in the design and production of a service or product can bring low-cost innovation and unique and personalized customer experiences leading to user acceptance of a product or service. Under a co-creation perspective, the participatory approach developed in the MINDInclusion project aims to improve the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities into public places and society by using a co-created online tool based on personal experiences of people with disabilities. Paying special attention to the Design thinking method, the main goal of this experience was to co-create cognitive accessible design tools that guide the collection of users and other stakeholders experiences in the process of defining problems and solutions. To this end, 14 researchers and educators worked defining together a set of guiding exercises and design thinking methods for the 4 co-design cycles. As a result two tools were developed to gather information to recreate as a final output “personas scenarios”, an “empathy map” and expected “use scenarios”. The former was an adapted game board about public places based on the traditional monopoly game and the latter a diary with a set of activities that will facilitate the collection of contextual information. Previous experiences have shown that co-design process can promote greater social cohesion, acceptance and empowerment. Working with people with intellectual disability presents several challenges since the co-creation process needs to be cognitive accessible.     Effect of dietary inclusion of different lipid supplements on performance and carcass quality traits of growing beef heifers

    The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of dietary extruded flaxseed and/or rumen-protected lipids on growth performance and carcass quality of growing beef heifers. Sixty-three crossbreed heifers (Charolais X Limousine) were distributed into seven experimental groups, balanced in terms of age and live weight. Diets fed to the groups were isoproteic and differed in both, the dietary lipid source (extruded linseed and/or rumen-protected conjugated linoleic acid) and the supplementation length (90 or 180 days before slaughtering), having the same total amount of lipids and vitamin E, during their finishing period. The results obtained in the present study confirm that in low-protein diets, the inclusion of rumen-protected CLA, alone or in combination with flaxseed, did not bring any evident effect on feed intake, performance and carcass quality traits of growing beef heifers
