Unstable even-parity eigenmodes of the regular static SU(2) Yang-Mills-dilaton solutions
In this paper we obtain unstable even-parity eigenmodes to the static regular
spherically symmetric solutions of the SU(2) Yang-Mills-dilaton coupled system
of equations in 3+1 Minkowski space-time. The corresponding matrix
Sturm-Liouville problem is solved numerically by means of the continuous
analogue of Newton's method. The method, being the powerful tool for solving
both boundary-value and Sturm-Liouville problems, is described in details.Comment: 22 pages, 5 figure
Isospin symmetry breaking in an algebraic pairing Sp(4) model
An exactly solvable sp(4) algebraic approach extends beyond the traditional
isospin conserving nuclear interaction to bring forward effects of isospin
symmetry breaking and isospin mixing resulting from a two-body nuclear
interaction that includes proton-neutron (pn) and like-particle isovector
pairing correlations plus significant isoscalar pn interactions. The model
yields an estimate for the extent to which isobaric analog 0+ states in light
and medium mass nuclei may mix with one another and reveals possible, but still
extremely weak, non-analog beta-decay transitions.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figure
ANALYSIS OF THE ABORTIONS IN BULGARIA FOR 2014
Every year, in Bulgaria nearly half of the pregnancies end up with an abortion. It is well known that every abortion hides a risk for every woman that had this kind of medical intervention. Also lowers the ability of having another pregnancy, having a healthy carrying and giving a natural childbirth. On other side, abortions are associated with being a significant factor which regulates the demografic features of the population. There is a tendency that most of the Bulgarian women use the abortion like alternative method for contraception. This is due to the fact that since 1956 there isn`t a law that prohibit the performing of abortion by choice of the pregnant woman. For the period from 1967 to 1998, many statistics show that the number of the abortions is significantly higher than the number of the actual childbirths. However, through out the next few years there is a stable tendency of dropping the number of abortions. Overall, in 2014 there is a solid tendency for the decreasing numbers of the abortions in Bulgaria between the period of 2000-2013.Every year, in Bulgaria nearly half of the pregnancies end up with an abortion. Biochemical, histological and histochemical changes in Aristichthys nobilis Rich. liver exposed to thiamethoxam
Background and purpose: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of the insecticide thiamethoxam on some biochemical, histological and histochemical parameters of bighead carp liver (Aristichthys nobilis), which is an economically important fish species for aquaculture.
Materials and methods: Different increasing concentrations of 6.6 mg l-1, 10 mg l-1 and 20 mg l-1 of the test chemical under laboratory conditions were tested for their toxicity on fish for 96. The hepatic activity of the enzymes lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), aspartate aminotransferase (ASAT) and alanine aminotransferase (ALAT) were measured. In addition, the hepatic histological structure was observed for alterations, as well as the lipid content was observed by histochemical staining.
Results: It was determined that the enzymatic activity of the exposed fish was increased compared to the control group (p<0.05). Furthermore, the enzymatic activity was increased proportionally to the increasing thiamethoxam concentrations. The histological lesions, which were observed in the liver parenchyma, were degenerative and necrotic. The degenerative alterations were as follows: granular, balloon and fatty degeneration. The necrotic alterations in the fish liver were associated with presence of karyopyknosis, karyorrehsis and karyolysis, respectively. The histological alterations in the liver blood vessels were hyperemia and lymphocyte proliferation. Along with the established histological changes in the liver parenchyma, we found presence of fatty degeneration in the hepatocytes using Sudan III staining on cryostat sections.
Conclusions: Our study shows that there is a relation between the concentration of the insecticide and biochemical changes, as well the severity of expression of the histological and histochemical alterations in the bighead carp liver. Overall, such experiments could be successfully applied in research and monitoring programs to study the effects of pesticides on fish

Influence of detection of pretreatment cytogenetic abnormalities on first complete remission and survival in adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Objective: Treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in adults focuses on the initial assessment of the prognostic relevant cytogenetic features as well as a response-guided therapy based on molecular data. We examined the importance of molecular-cytogenetic abnormalities for complete remission (CR) rates and the overall survival (OS) in adult ALLs.Materials and Methods: Conventional cytogenetics and fluorescence in situ hybridization were performed on bone marrow cells from 33 newly-diagnosed ALL adults. Two karyotype categories [standard- risk group- normal karyotype, hyperdiplody and other structural aberrations, and high-risk group-t(11q23)/MLL, t(9;22)/bcr-abl, t(1;19), t(8;14), C-MYC and complex karyotype] and the biologically and clinically relevant ALL ploidy subgroups were prospectively defined. Results: Chromosomal abnormalities were found in 52% of the cases with a high rate of poor-risk translocations - t(9;22), t(8q24), t(11q23), t(1;19). The total CR rate was 67% and the median time for achievement 2.33 months. Male sex, an age below 35 years and the absence of high risk translocations might have contributed to the high CR rates. Female patients, hyperdiplody, low white blood cells (WBC), and random cytogenetic aberrations had the longest OS. OS, 3- and 5-years survival periods were significantly shorter for poor-risk than standard risk group (p=.015, p=.001 and p=.005, respectively). Conclusion: This study emphasizes the lack of influence of cytogenetic aberrations on the CR and the time to achieve CR. However, our observations show that these aberrations are an independent prognostic factor in adult ALL - they allow predicting therapy resistance and the OS time after intensetreatment
Business Ethics in Providing Financial Statements: The Testing of Fraud Pentagon Theory on the Manufacturing Sector in Indonesia
The article studies the causes and consequences of manipulating the financial statements of companies, identifies the most influential drivers of fraudulent reporting actions by employees and business owners. This research aimed to examine the effect of fraud indicators in fraud pentagon theory against the detection of fraudulent financial reporting on manufacturing companies. Independent variables in this research were variable pressure proxy by financial stability, external pressure, and financial target, opportunity proxy by nature of the industry, rationalization proxy by total accrual, capability proxy by the change of directors, and arrogance proxy by ownership by management
Spectral and polarization effects in deterministically nonperiodic multilayers containing optically anisotropic and gyrotropic materials
Influence of material anisotropy and gyrotropy on optical properties of
fractal multilayer nanostructures is theoretically investigated. Gyrotropy is
found to uniformly rotate the output polarization for bi-isotropic multilayers
of arbitrary geometrical structure without any changes in transmission spectra.
When introduced in a polarization splitter based on a birefringent fractal
multilayer, isotropic gyrotropy is found to resonantly alter output
polarizations without shifting of transmission peak frequencies. The design of
frequency-selective absorptionless polarizers for polarization-sensitive
integrated optics is outlined
Iwasawa Effects in Multi-layer Optics
There are many two-by-two matrices in layer optics. It is shown that they can
be formulated in terms of a three-parameter group whose algebraic property is
the same as the group of Lorentz transformations in a space with two space-like
and one time-like dimensions, or the group which is a standard
theoretical tool in optics. Among the interesting mathematical properties of
this group, the Iwasawa decomposition drastically simplifies the matrix algebra
under certain conditions, and leads to a concise expression for the S-matrix
for transmitted and reflected rays. It is shown that the Iwasawa effect can be
observed in multi-layer optics, and a sample calculation of the S-matrix is
given.Comment: RevTex 10 pages including 1 psfi
