Fragmentos de identidad insular: paisaje y cultura local como herramientas para la planificación turística de Agaete y Alghero

Algunas ciudades históricas costeras, con cierto potencial de desarrollo turístico y arraigadas tradiciones culturales, necesitan una planificación adecuada para afrontar dicho desarrollo. La sobreexplotación de la franja costera impulsa el deterioro de los valores que la hacen diferentes de otros territorios, razón básica de su posible atractivo turístico. Así, bajo la consideración de que la cultura local y el paisaje están intrínsecamente unidos, influencian el evolución de dichas ciudades y territorios y pueden ser la base de un desarrollo turístico ambiental y socialmente sostenible, se plantea el análisis, en los casos de Agaete y Alghero, de toda forma de expresión de la tradición histórica local para componer la imagen contemporánea de su cultura, donde el paisaje sea el elemento articulador de los espacios en los que esta cultura se desarrolla, permitiendo la comprensión de su ordenación física a través del territorio y su posterior puesta en valor.Some coastal historic cities with certain potential of tourism development and strong cultural traditions need a proper planning able to tackle such development. Overexploitation of the coastal strip drives the deterioration of the elements that make it different from other territories, basic reason for its possible tourist attraction. Local culture and landscape are inextricably linked, influence cities and territories development and can be the basis of an environmentally and socially sustainable tourism development. So, with Agaete and Alghero as cases of study, analysis of all forms of expression of the local, historical tradition will set the contemporary image of their culture, where landscapes articulate spaces in which this culture is developed, allowing to understand its territorial structure and its subsequent revaluation

Understanding a Version of Multivariate Symmetric Uncertainty to assist in Feature Selection

In this paper, we analyze the behavior of the multivariate symmetric uncertainty (MSU) measure through the use of statistical simulation techniques under various mixes of informative and non-informative randomly generated features. Experiments show how the number of attributes, their cardinalities, and the sample size affect the MSU. We discovered a condition that preserves good quality in the MSU under different combinations of these three factors, providing a new useful criterion to help drive the process of dimension reduction

Content Delivery and Sharing in Federated Cloud Storage

Cloud-based storage is becoming a cost-effective solution for agencies, hospitals, government instances and scientific centers to deliver and share contents to/with a set of end-users. However, reliability, privacy and lack of control are the main problems that arise when contracting content delivery services with a single cloud storage provider. This paper presents the implementation of a storage system for content delivery and sharing in federated cloud storage networks. This system virtualizes the storage resources of a set of organizations as a single federated system, which is in charge of the content storage. The architecture includes a metadata management layer to keep the content delivery control in-house and a storage synchronization worker/monitor to keep the state of storage resources in the federation as well as to send contents near to the end-users. It also includes a redundancy layer based on a multi-threaded engine that enables the system to withstand failures in the federated network. We developed a prototype based on this scheme as a proof of concept. The experimental evaluation shows the benefits of building content delivery systems in federated cloud environments, in terms of performance, reliability and profitability of the storage space.The work presented in this paper has been partially supported by EU under the COST programme Action IC1305, Network for Sustainable Ultrascale Computing (NESUS)

Attitudes of undergraduate nursing students to cultural diversity: (Portuguese-Spanish) in a transboundary context.

Our main goal was to identify the attitudes of nursing students to cultural diversity in a healthcare setting, and find the potential relationship between this and the students' national background and their knowledge of cultural diversity. A descriptive observational study comparing two culturally different populations within a cross-border area (Algarve-Huelva) was conducted. The attitudes of the participants were measured across six categories: this study will describe the most significant ones. The cultural context is essential to the development of attitudes to immigration. Nursing care is a communicative act and encountering the "other" the core of the nursing professionals' work. Diagnóstico sobre regulación emocional vinculada a los estilos de apego en Adolescentes 15 a 20 Años, Hijos de Padres Separados del Instituto Nacional de la Juventud (INJUVE).

Los procesos de regulación emocional son inherentes al funcionamiento humano, de hecho, se activan casi de forma complementaria a nuestros procesos afectivos, los cuales obtenemos desde nuestras familias, como los sostiene la teoría de los apegos desarrollados por Bowlby (1969); ya que a menudo, diferentes sucesos o experiencias pueden alterar nuestro estado de ánimo habitual y sin embargo, al poco tiempo, y a veces de forma automática, se suelen activar estrategias de regulación como “respirar hondo”, recordar aspectos positivos de nuestra situación, o buscar a alguien con quien hablar, con los cuales se han establecidos vínculos afectivos. Todas estas acciones, cuando están dirigidas a modificar un estado emocional; se pueden considerar estrategias de regulación emocional. Se ha demostrado que los estilos de apego, desarrollados en la primera infancia permanecen estables con el tiempo; es decir, se manifiestan dentro de la autoestima y las relaciones románticas adultas como un estilo de amor expresado por cada uno de los miembros, producto de las experiencias que se tuvieron en la infancia y que han persistido a lo largo de la vida del sujeto (Ainsworth,1972; Bowlby, 1982; Collins y Read, 1990; Fenney y Noller, 1990; Shaver y Brennan, 1992). Por lo que, la presente investigación consiste en la realización de un diagnóstico sobre la vinculación que existe entre la regulación emocional y los estilos de apego en adolescentes de 15 a 20 años, hijos de padres separados del instituto nacional de la juventud (INJUVE)

Impacto social a causa de la implementación de los botones de seguridad, en el Subcircuito Jipijapa 1 durante el primer cuatrimestre del año 2014

The increase in the crime rate in Ecuador has forced the National Police by the Ministry of the Interior, develop strategies to reduce crime in Ecuador, which is why they saw the need to present a decentralized management model that generates a technology strategy to combat insecurity in the country, so the safety buttons Project which began in the Spondylus route 6 December 2011, and now have been 1'137.567 safety buttons created in Ecuador, which is increased by the good reception that present the project. The project offers to the citizens a security system geo-referenced whose main objective is to reduce response times when the National Police takes to meet an emergency, in addition to improving the ongoing interaction that should exist between citizens and the police of a specific place. At present, 24 provinces have community police units, in which there is constant monitoring of security through the virtual platform of safety buttons, they are designed to provide an efficient service and strengthen the link between the community and the National Police, reducing crime rates and improving citizen security, which together, with other strategies generated by the National Police and the Ministry of Interior, they were combine to contribute to public safety, creating a good environment for peaceful coexistence according to the constitutional mandates of the country, and complying the provisions of the National Pan of Good Living or Sumak Kawsai.El incremento del índice delictivo en el Ecuador ha obligado a la Policía Nacional por medio del Ministerio del Interior, desarrolle estrategias que permitan disminuir el cometimientos de delitos en el Ecuador es por ello que se vio la necesidad de presentar un modelo de Gestión descentralizado que cumpliera con una estrategia tecnológica para combatir la inseguridad en el País, por ello se creó el Proyecto de Botones de Seguridad, el mismo que comenzó en la ruta del Spondylus el 6 de diciembre del año 2011 y en la actualidad se han implementado 1’137.567 botones de seguridad a nivel Nacional, cantidad que sigue incrementando por la buena acogida que ha presentado el proyecto. El proyecto consiste en ofrecer a la ciudadanía un sistema de seguridad geo-referenciado cuyo objetivo principal es reducir los tiempos de respuesta en que la Policía Nacional toma para atender una emergencia, además para mejorar la interacción permanente que debe existir entre la ciudadanía y la Policía del sector. En la actualidad las 24 provincias del país cuentan con Unidades de Policía Comunitaria en las cuales existe un monitoreo constante de seguridad a través de la plataforma virtual de los botones de seguridad, los mismos que están orientados a brindar un servicio eficiente y estrechar el vínculo entre la comunidad y la Policía Nacional, reduciendo los índices delictivos y mejorando la seguridad ciudadana, lo que conjuntamente con otras estrategias implementadas por la Policía Nacional y el Ministerio del Interior, se conjugan para contribuir con la seguridad ciudadana, generando un ambiente propicio para la convivencia pacífica acorde a los mandatos constitucionales del país y cumpliendo con lo establecido en el Pan Nacional del Buen Vivir o conocido Sumak Kawsai
