    Water leak detection using self-supervised time series classification

    Leaks in water distribution networks cause a loss of water that needs to be com- pensated to ensure a continuous supply for all customers. This compensation is achieved by increasing the flow of the network, which entails an undesirable economical expense as well as negative consequences for the environment. For these reasons, detecting and fixing leaks is a relevant task for water distribution companies. This paper proposes a water leak detection method based on a self- supervised classification of flow time series. The aim is to detect the leaks in the network, providing a low false positive rate. The proposed method is applied to two water distribution networks and compared to two other methods in the literature, obtaining the best balance between the number of false positives and detected leaks.IT1244-19 PID2019-104966GB-I0

In the progress, there are positive results but, most institutions are below 80% level. Most institutions also scored low for data analytics tools, reporting, and expertise"]. In addition, a task with the methods of Data Mining and Learning Analytics is analyze them (precision, accuracy, sensitivity, coherence, fitness measures, cosine, confidence, lift, similarity weights) for optimize and adapt them]. Learning Analytics was and continues to be an emerging technology. The time to adoption Horizon is one year or less but, how many institutions, teachers, learners and data analytics tools, are ready? Statistical Implicative Analysis (SIA) was created for Regis Gras , 45 years ago, SIA is a statistical theory which provides a group of data analytics tools to extract knowledge. The approach is performed starting from the generation of asymmetric rules similar to dendrograms used in the hierarchical clusters. But, the asymmetric rules can be used like a hierarchical clusters?     Exploring the independent association of employment status to cancer survivors’ health-related quality of life

    Background: Having a job has been associated with better Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) in cancer survivors. However, the sociodemographic and disease-related profiles characterizing the survivors being employed and those having better HRQOL largely overlap. The present study aims to discern the degree to which employment status is independently associated with cancer survivors' HRQOL or if it mainly reflects the impact of other sociodemographic and cancer-related variables. Methods: Cross-sectional study on a heterogeneous sample of 772 working-age survivors of adult-onset cancer. An instrument specifically designed to assess HRQOL in cancer survivors and Multivariate Variance Analysis (MANOVA) were used. Results: Survival phase, cancer type, and employment status showed the main effects on cancer survivors' HRQOL. In particular, being employed (vs unemployed) had the greatest positive association with HRQOL, affecting ten of the twelve HRQOL domains considered. Also, interaction effects highlighted the role of age (younger) and marital status (single) as risk factors for a greater negative impact of variables affecting the survivor's HRQOL. Conclusions: The application of a multivariate methodology sheds new light on two relevant issues for the cancer survivor's HRQOL: (i) the existence of differences between diagnostic groups that are not attributed to other variables such as sex, and (ii) the important and independent role that employment status plays. Comprehensive cancer survivorship care should focus more on high-risk groups and include having a job as an essential aspect to consider and prompt. The fact that the employment status is susceptible to change represents a valuable opportunity to care for the wellbeing of this population

    La adquisición de la competencia grupal es algo básico en la docencia universitaria. Esta tarea va a suponer evaluar diferentes factores en un número elevado de alumnos, lo que puede supone gran complejidad y un esfuerzo elevado. De cara a evitar este esfuerzo se puede pensar en emplear los registros de la interacción de los usuarios almacenados en las plataformas de aprendizaje. Para ello el presente trabajo se basa en el desarrollo de un sistema de Learning Analytics que es utilizado como herramienta para analizar las evidencias individuales de los distintos miembros de un equipo de trabajo. El trabajo desarrolla un modelo teórico apoyado en la herramienta, que permite relacionar las evidencias observadas de forma empírica para cada alumno, con indicadores obtenidos tanto de la acción individual como cooperativo de los miembros de un equipo realizadas a través de los foros de trabajo. Abstract — The development of the group work competence is something basic in university teaching. It should be evaluated, but this means to analyze different issues about the participation of a high number of students which is very complex and implies a lot of effort. In order to facilitate this evaluation it is possible to analyze the logs of students’ interaction in Learning Management Systems. The present work describes the development of a Learning Analytics system that analyzes the interaction of each of the members of working group. This tool is supported by a theoretical model, which allows establishing links between the empirical evidences of each student and the indicators of their action in working forums

The recently proposed master curve for the field dependence of the magnetocaloric effect of Fe-based amorphous alloys can also be constructed for these lanthanide-based crystalline materials, suggesting a universal behavior. The exponent n controlling the field dependence of the magnetic entropy change can be used for the interpretation of results in the case of multiple magnetic ordering phenomena

    A novel technique to achieve atomic macro-coherence as a tool to determine the nature of neutrinos

    The photon spectrum in macro-coherent atomic deexcitation via radiative emission of neutrino pairs has been proposed as a sensitive probe of the neutrino mass spectrum, capable of competing with conventional neutrino experiments. In this paper, we revisit this intriguing possibility, presenting an alternative method for inducing large coherence in a target based on adiabatic techniques.     La erosión en campos cultivados en Galicia (NW España)

    [Resumen] En la presente comunicación se realiza un seguimiento de la erosión en parcelas cultivadas en Galicia. Para ello, en la estación experimental El Pedroso se construyeron dos parcelas, de diferente pendiente, y se sometieron a un proceso de laboreo según las formas tradicionales de cultivar. En la presente comunicación se exponen los resultados del seguimiento de la experimentación desde abril a diciembre de 1995, en donde se observa que la pendiente desempeña una función distinta de la que en un principio podría pensarse, dado que la escorrentía y carga varían de forma inversa a la pendiente.[Abstract] A very closed study of erosion is made in this paper about plough plots in Galicia. For this, in the experimental station El Pedroso were built two plots, with different slope, and were ploughed in a traditional way. In this paper we resume the results of the experiment from april to december 1995, where it is seen that slope has a different function that was thought at the beginning of the experiment, because discharge and load don't vary directly with slope

    Temperature dependence of magnetic properties of nanocrystalline Fe60Co18Cu1B15Nb6−xZrx (x =0, 3, 6) alloys has been studied at different stages of devitrification. Transmission electron microscopy shows nanocrystals of the size �5 nm, which remains almost constant along the nanocrystallization process. Curie temperature of the residual amorphous phase decreases as nanocrystallization progresses for all the studied alloys. Thermal dependence of the exchange stiffness constant is obtained from the measurement of specific magnetization and coercivity as a function of crystalline fraction and temperature for the three studied alloys
