Spin Analysis of the Process e+e- --> tau+tau- at LEP
Using the data collected by the four experiments at LEP during 1990-1994, a
precise measurement of the tau longitudinal polarisation (P_tau) has been
performed, as well as the measurement of the transverse-transverse and
transverse-normal tau spin correlations. From the P_tau measurement, assuming
lepton universality of the neutral currents, the effective weak mixing angle
has been determined to be sin(theta_W) = 0.2325 +- 0.0006. The Standard Model
predictions are consistent with the measured results.Comment: Invited talk to San Miniato 1997, 6 pages, 10 figures, Latex, macro

Building ontologies from folksonomies and linked data: Data structures and Algorithms
We present the data structures and algorithms used in the approach for building domain ontologies from folksonomies and linked data. In this approach we extracts domain terms from folksonomies and enrich them with semantic information from the Linked Open Data cloud. As a result, we obtain a domain ontology that combines the emergent knowledge of social tagging systems with formal knowledge from Ontologies
On the motives of moduli of chains and Higgs bundles
We take another approach to Hitchin's strategy of computing the cohomology of
moduli spaces of Higgs bundles by localization with respect to the
circle-action. Our computation is done in the dimensional completion of the
Grothendieck ring of varieties and starts by describing the classes of moduli
stacks of chains rather than their coarse moduli spaces.
As an application we show that the n-torsion of the Jacobian acts trivially
on the middle dimensional cohomology of the moduli space of twisted
SL_n-Higgs-bundles of degree coprime to n and we give an explicit formula for
the motive of the moduli space of Higgs bundles of rank 4 and odd degree. This
provides new evidence for a conjecture of Hausel and Rodr\'iguez-Villegas.
Along the way we find explicit recursion formulas for the motives of several
types of moduli spaces of stable chains.Comment: 44 page
User profile modelling based on mobile phone sensing and call logs
There are remaining questions concerning user profile modelling in the mobile advertising domain. The research question addressed in this paper is how to design a specific user profile model, that is a simplified model in terms of the amount of user data to be collected, that considers relevant aspects of mobile advertising such as social and personal context, and user privacy preservation. To address this question, a new user profile model consisting of three phases was proposed: (1) data collection, (2) integration and normalization of collected data, and (3) inference of knowledge about the mobile user’s profile. The most significant contributions of the proposed model are a simplified user profile model approach which tackles the dependency on other data sources like OSN platforms and local data gathering and storage that contributes to the user privacy-preserving since the user can exert more control over his/her personal data
Who is afraid of philosophy?
The essay raises the question of radical change in relation to the concepts of atopia and heterotopia. It attempts to provide an answer to the question of radical change by using tools from deconstructive thought, mainly a particular understanding of telepathy.Esej si zastavi vprašanje o radikalni spremembi v navezavi na koncepta atopije in heterotopije. S pomočjo orodij dekonstrukcijske misli – predvsem specifičnega načina razumevanja telepatije – želi odgovoriti na vprašanje o radikalni spremembi
Social tags and linked data for ontology development: a case study in the financial domain
We describe a domain ontology development approach that
extracts domain terms from folksonomies and enrich them
with data and vocabularies from the Linked Open Data
cloud. As a result, we obtain lightweight domain ontologies
that combine the emergent knowledge of social tagging
systems with formal knowledge from Ontologies. In order to
illustrate the feasibility of our approach, we have produced
an ontology in the financial domain from tags available in
Delicious, using DBpedia, OpenCyc and UMBEL as additional
knowledge sources
The quantum integrable system
The quantum integrable system is a 3D system with rational potential
related to the non-crystallographic root system . It is shown that the
gauge-rotated Hamiltonian as well as one of the integrals, when written
in terms of the invariants of the Coxeter group , is in algebraic form: it
has polynomial coefficients in front of derivatives. The Hamiltonian has
infinitely-many finite-dimensional invariant subspaces in polynomials, they
form the infinite flag with the characteristic vector \vec \al\ =\ (1,2,3).
One among possible integrals is found (of the second order) as well as its
algebraic form. A hidden algebra of the Hamiltonian is determined. It is
an infinite-dimensional, finitely-generated algebra of differential operators
possessing finite-dimensional representations characterized by a generalized
Gauss decomposition property. A quasi-exactly-solvable integrable
generalization of the model is obtained. A discrete integrable model on the
uniform lattice in a space of -invariants "polynomially"-isospectral to
the quantum model is defined.Comment: 32 pages, 3 figure
