An Anomalous Quiescent Stellar Mass Black Hole

We present the results of a 40 ks Chandra observation of the quiescent stellar mass black hole GS 1354-64. A total of 266 net counts are detected at the position of this system. The resulting spectrum is found to be consistent with the spectra of previously observed quiescent black holes, i.e., a power-law with a photon index of \Gamma ~ 2. The inferred luminosity in the 0.5 -- 10 keV band is found to lie in the range 0.5 - 6.5 x 10^{34} erg/s, where the uncertainty in the distance is the dominant source of this large luminosity range. Nonetheless, this luminosity is over an order of magnitude greater than that expected from the known distribution of quiescent stellar mass black hole luminosities and makes GS 1354-64 the only known stellar mass black hole to disagree with this relation. This observation suggests the possibility of significant accretion persisting in the quiescent state.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, formatted using emulateapj.cls. Criação de valor e estratégia de operações : um estudo do setor químico e petroquímico brasileiro

Este artigo trata da integração da estratégia de operações às finanças, ao evidenciar a necessidade do gestor de operações de planejar uma estratégia voltada à criação de valor na companhia. O trabalho apresenta uma metodologia para o cálculo do valor econômico adicionado das empresas químicas e petroquímicas brasileiras para os anos de 2001 e 2002, período de profundas transformações no perfil competitivo do setor. Os resultados de 2002 validaram a hipótese central do trabalho e forneceram um instrumento de simulação para identificar o limiar da responsabilidade do gestor de operações com a criação de valor em uma organização. _________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThis paper discusses the integration of operational strategies and corporate finance, focusing on the need for the operations manager to plan a strategy focusing on the creation of corporate value. Contabilidad Gerencial: Implementacion de estrategias y decisiones de inversion de capital en la Empresa Gallito Velez Cia, Lda

El presente seminario de graduación, denominado Implementación de las estrategias y decisiones de inversión de capital en la empresa de transporte ¨GALLITO VELOZ CIA, LTDA¨, para el periodo finalizado 2014, se elaboró con la finalidad de caracterizar el papel que desarrolla la contabilidad gerencial en las estrategias y tomas de decisión de inversión de capital, explicar las herramientas que se utilizan en las estrategias y decisiones de inversión de capital. La contabilidad gerencial es una herramienta importante debido a que proporciona información eficaz y oportuna a la hora de tomar decisiones que permitan lograr los objetivos de la empresa y de los inversionistas de la misma, además de estar enfocada en asegurar los recursos obtenidos por la entidad, y administrarlos de manera correcta. El propósito de las estrategias y las decisiones de inversión es indicar mediante el empleo de un criterio acertado que un problema o situación es valorado y considerado profundamente para elegir el mejor camino a seguir según las diferentes alternativas y operaciones, en la toma de decisiones, considerar un problema y llegar a una conclusión, significa que se han examinado todas las alternativas y que la elección ha sido correcta

As Flanâncias Urbanas de Sophie Calle: Reflexões entre público e privado

Neste artigo, apresento a obra da artista francesa Sophie Calle (1953 - presente) como um vetor para investigação acerca do espaço público, indagando o papel que as práticas artísticas críticas (Mouffe, 2013) podem desempenhar no questionamento da pressuposição democrática de tais espaços a partir dos conceitos de dissenso, aqui compreendido enquanto racionalidade política não consensual, e da partilha do sensível, que nos permite vislumbrar potencialidades da arte enquanto ferramenta política (Rancière, 1996; 2009). A partir das obras Suíte Veneziana (1980), The Detective (1981), The Address Book (1983), The Bronx (1980), Phone Booth (1994) os conceitos de dissenso e partilha do sensível serão articulados para análise das imagens e à luz dos registros textuais da artista sobre estes trabalhos.Palavras-chave: Sophie Calle; Flânerie; Performance Urbana; Partilha do Sensível; Dissenso.  SOPHIE CALLE’S FLÂNERIE: REFLECTIONS ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SPACESAbstract: In this article, I present the artwork of the French artist Sophie Calle (born 1953) as a medium to investigate the public space, inquiring which role that critical art practices (Mouffe, 2013) can play in questioning the assumption of democracy given to public spaces from the concepts of dissent as a non-consensual political rationality, and the distribution of the sensible, which allows us to glimpse the potential of art as a political tool (Rancière, 1996; 2009). Implementación del sistema de registros Zootécnicos para el manejo administrativo de los predios ganaderos en el municipio de El Socorro, departamento de Santander.

La asistencia técnica directa rural, es un servicio público de carácter obligatorio y subsidiado con relación a los pequeños y medianos productores rurales, cuya prestación está a cargo de los municipios en coordinación con los departamentos y en particular del Ministerio de Agricultura y Desarrollo Rural (Congreso de Colombia, 2000). Los objetivos de la pasantía en la EPSEA Los Comuneros fueron 1) Identificar a través de un barrido de información, los predios del área rural donde hayan unidades de negocio en ganadería bovina en el municipio de El Socorro. 2) Implementar estrategias de capacitación para los empresarios del subsector de la ganadería bovina, referente al proceso de diligenciamiento e implementación de sus registros productivos y reproductivos, en el municipio de El Socorro. 3) Analizar la información registrada para la toma de decisiones acertada y su puesta en marcha. Como resultado se obtiene: 1) Información sobre población intervenida en aspectos de la ganadería bovina de la zona. 2) Proceso de capacitación no formal que brinda información acerca del manejo de las unidades negocio bovino del municipio El Socorro. 3) Elaboración de registros con datos reales que permiten tomar decisiones efectivas a los productores para el manejo de su explotación ganadera. Lo anterior permite el acercamiento con los productores de la región, brindando así, la oportunidad de aplicar soluciones adecuadas a las necesidades sentidas de las comunidades rurales, generando crecimiento en el perfil profesional como Zootecnista.Universidad Libre Seccional Socorro -- Facultad de Ingeniería y ciencias agropecuarias -- ZootecniaDirect rural technical assistance is a public service of a mandatory and subsidized nature in relation to small and medium rural producers, whose provision is in charge of the municipalities in coordination with the departments and in particular the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Congress Colombia, 2000). The objectives of the internship at the EPSEA Los Comuneros were 1) Identify, through a sweep of information, the farms in the rural area where there are business units in bovine livestock in the municipality of El Socorro. 2) Implement training strategies for entrepreneurs in the bovine livestock subsector, regarding the process of filing and implementing their productive and reproductive records, in the municipality of El Socorro. 3) Analyze the information recorded for making the right decision and its implementation. As a result, the following is obtained: 1) Information on the population intervened in aspects of bovine farming in the area. 2) Non-formal training process that provides information about the management of the bovine business units of the El Socorro municipality. 3) Preparation of records with real data that allow producers to make effective decisions for the management of their livestock farm. The foregoing allows the approach with the producers of the region, thus providing the opportunity to apply adequate solutions to the perceived needs of rural communities, generating growth in the professional profile as Zootechnician
