Participation in international trade has been important for national economy and keeps increasing over the years, and it may be noted by the importation and exportation activities. In this sense this study aims to verify whether there is correlation between exports of manufactured and basic products in the State of São Paulo, as well as between them and time. Therefore it was used data available at Ministério da Indústria, Comércio Exterior e Serviços (MDIC) website relating to the amount in US$ of both manufactured products and basic products exported in the State of São Paulo from 2006 to 2016. The analysis was performed by using simple linear regression statistical calculation, aiming to verify whether there is correlation. Findings indicate there is strong correlation between the exports of basic products and time; there is no correlation between the exports of manufactured products and time; there is no correlation between the exports of basic products and the exports of manufactured products. Findings may help practitioners in forecasting demands as well as the understanding about exports behaviors when making-decisions

Economic-financial analysis of an investment of tanks for ARLA 32 at the fleet of a transportation company

The objective of this work is to do an economic-financial analysis on the alternative of a transportation company to finance the costs with ARLA 32 consumption. In the current situation the company refuels its vehicles with ARLA 32 acquired at wholesale and stored in the company's head office located in large São Paulo and, when necessary, at retail at unscheduled gas stations but which are located on the route. The alternative is to add a second tank for ARLA 32 at the vehicles to cancel these unscheduled external refueling. Based on the interview with the company’s manager responsible for the project, costs’ spreadsheets and company’s documents, it was done the analysis comparing between those two modes which of them offers lower cost, through the capital estimate techniques and financial analysis NPV, IRR, payback and Profit Margin. The results demonstrated that the current mode is more economic, because according to analysis criteria the project is not feasible

Economic strategy for reducing costs with materials can also bring benefits for environment: proposal based on the study in a brazilian industry

The aim of this work is to evidence the benefits for environment resulting from an economic strategy performed by a Brazilian industry. In order to reduce costs with purchasing of pallets, Chapatex and wooden frames, which are used to pack and transport its products, the studied industry elaborated a strategy in partnership with its customers that resulted in exploitation by devolution of the biggest part of those materials that went to customers but did not come back. The costs reduction with the acquisition of those materials was highly beneficial. However, even more important was the result from the environmental viewpoint, because the re-exploitation of those materials reduces in the environmental impact, as for not need to acquire new materials, that is, take them from nature, considering they are wood, as to avoid inappropriate disposal of materials stopped and no-using for customers. This study, therefore, proposes for the decision makers considers the environmental and sustainable vision even in areas of the organization where the focus on profits predominates

Effect of dietary soybean oil inclusion on liver-related transcription factors in a pig model for metabolic diseases.

Dietary fatty acids (FA) are components of the lipids, which contribute to membrane structure, energy input, and biological functions related to cellular signaling and transcriptome regulation. However, the consumers still associate dietary FA with fat deposition and increased occurrence of metabolic diseases such as obesity and atherosclerosis. Previous studies already demonstrated that some fatty acids are linked with inflammatory response, preventing metabolic diseases. To better understand the role of dietary FA on metabolic diseases, for the first time, a study to identify key transcription factors (TF) involved in lipid metabolism and inflammatory response by transcriptome analysis from liver samples of animal models was performed. The key TF were identified by functional enrichment analysis from the list of differentially expressed genes identified in liver samples between 35 pigs fed with 1.5% or 3.0% soybean oil. The functional enrichment analysis detected TF linked to lipid homeostasis and inflammatory response, such as RXRA, EGFR, and SREBP2 precursor. These findings demonstrated that key TF related to lipid metabolism could be modulated by dietary inclusion of soybean oil. It could contribute to nutrigenomics research field that aims to elucidate dietary interventions in animal and human health, as well as to drive food technology and science
