I show that periodic topological cyclic homology of $\mathcal{O}_L$, over the base $\mathbb{E}_{\infty}$-ring $\mathbb{S}_{W(\mathbb{F}_q)}[z]$ carries a $p$-height one formal group law mod $p$ that depends on the Eisenstein polynomial of $L$ over $\mathbb{Q}_p$ for a choice of uniformizer $\varpi\in \mathcal{O}_L$.Comment: 7 pages, including references. On topological Hochschild homology of the (1)‐local sphere

We compute mod (,1) topological Hochschild homology of the connective cover of the (1)‐local sphere spectrum for all primes ⩾3. This is accomplished using a May‐type spectral sequence in topological Hochschild homology constructed from a filtration of a commutative ring spectrum

Periodicity In Iterated Algebraic K-Theory Of Finite Fields

In this dissertation, we study the interactions between periodic phenomena in the homotopy groups of spheres and algebraic K-theory of ring spectra. C. Ausoni and J. Rognes initiated a program to study the arithmetic of ring spectra using algebraic K-theory and gave a higher chromatic version of the Lichtenbaum-Quillen conjecture, called the red-shift conjecture, that is expected to govern this arithmetic. This dissertation provides a proof of a special case of a variation on the red-shift conjecture. Specifically, we show that, under conditions on the order of the fields, iterated algebraic K-theory of finite fields detects a periodic family chromatic height two. To prove that iterated algebraic K-theory of finite fields detects a periodic family of chromatic height two, we compute approximations to iterated algebraic K-theory using the theory of trace methods. We develop a tool for computing higher order topological Hochschild homology (THH) using a filtration of a commutative ring spectrum. We then compute THH of algebraic K-theory of finite fields after smashing with a finite complex and provide initial results towards mod p THH of algebraic K-theory of finite fields. We then detect height two periodic elements in the circle homotopy fixed points of THH and show that periodic families of height two are detected in iterated algebraic K-theory of finite fields after smashing with a finite cell complex

Algebraic K-theory of real topological K-theory

We calculate the A(1)-homotopy of the topological cyclic homology of the connective real topological K-theory spectrum ko, and show that it is a finitely generated and free F_2[v_2^{32}]-module of even rank between 390 and 444, on explicit generators in stems -1 \le *\le 198. This is achieved by using syntomic cohomology of ko as introduced by Hahn-Raksit-Wilson, extending work of Bhatt-Morrow-Scholze from the case of classical rings to E_\infty rings. In our case there are nontrivial differentials in the motivic spectral sequence from syntomic cohomology to topological cyclic homology, unlike in the case of complex K-theory at odd primes that was studied by Hahn-Raksit-Wilson.Comment: 48 pages. Topological Hochschild homology of truncated Brown-Peterson spectra I

We compute topological Hochschild homology of sufficiently structured forms of truncated Brown--Peterson spectra with coefficients. In particular, we compute $\operatorname{THH}_*(\operatorname{taf}^D;M)$ for $M\in \{ H\mathbb{Z}_{(3)},k(1),k(2)\}$ where $\operatorname{taf}^D$ is the $E_{\infty}$ form of $BP\langle 2\rangle$ constructed by Hill--Lawson. We compute $\operatorname{THH}_*(\operatorname{tmf}_1(3);M)$ when $M\in \{ H\mathbb{Z}_{(2)},k(2)\}$ where $\operatorname{tmf}_1(3)$ is the $E_{\infty}$ form of $BP\langle 2\rangle$ constructed by Lawson--Naumann. We also compute $\operatorname{THH}_*(B\langle n\rangle;M)$ for $M=H\mathbb{Z}_{(p)}$ and certain $E_3$ forms $B\langle n\rangle$ of $BP\langle n\rangle$. A deformation of Borel equivariant homotopy

We describe a deformation of the $\infty$-category of Borel $G$-spectra for a finite group $G$. This provides a new presentation of the $a$-complete real Artin--Tate motivic stable homotopy category when $G=C_2$ and gives a new interpretation of the $a$-completed $C_2$-effective slice spectral sequence. As a new computational tool, we present a modified Adams--Novikov spectral sequence which computes the $RO(G)$-graded Mackey functor valued homotopy of Borel $G$-spectra.Comment: updated introduction and references; 49 pages, comments welcome

O propósito desvirtuado das varas de violência doméstica na atualidade / The devirtuous purpose of steps of domestic violence

A violência doméstica é uma realidade preocupante, diante do número crescente e dos evidentes casos de violência contra a mulher, neste artigo questiona-se a viabilidade na implementação de um juízo especializado para o processamento de casos de violência doméstica nas comarcas que se mostram carentes, visando a aplicabilidade da lei 11.340/2006, também conhecida como lei Maria da Penha. As teses apresentadas de forma subjetiva e em comparativo sincrônico, não possuem quaisquer relação com os indivíduos de modo particular. Aborda-se neste estudo o matrimônio, a debilidade emocional, o sofrimento amoroso e a real necessidade de um juízo repressor frente a singularidade da lei ou de uma estrutura que vise mitigar os resultados de violência por meio da prevenção. O adormecimento da família e do poder público visando ceifar o empobrecimento intelectivo e emocional dos indivíduos é resultado de uma infeliz realidade cuja responsabilidade social deve ser avocada com um propósito mais eficaz do que a simples punição

Neste artigo questiona-se a viabilidade na implementação de um juízoespecializado para o processamento de casos de violência doméstica nas comarcasque se mostram carentes, visando a aplicabilidade da lei 11.340/2006, tambémconhecida como lei Maria da Penha. Aborda-se neste estudo o matrimônio, adebilidade emocional, o sofrimento amoroso e a real necessidade de um juízorepressor frente a singularidade da lei ou de uma estrutura que vise mitigar osresultados de violência por meio da prevenção. Os objetivos a que se propõe esteartigo é expor de formar geral, o mapa da violência doméstica no estado de SantaCatarina nos anos de 2012 e 2013, e, especificamente demonstrar que aresponsabilidade social que deve ser avocada pelo poder público e a família, visando previnir os delitos praticados, com o intuito de apontar a necessidade daimplementação de uma Vara de Violência Doméstica nas comarcas que maisprecisam de atenção.
