Trainee teachers’ perceptions on cyberbullying in educational contexts

This paper analyzes the perceptions of teachers in training regarding cyberbullying in schools. The objectives of the study were: to ascertain their perceptions regarding their concern and their commitment to cyberbullying, their agreement with the measures to address it in educational contexts, as well as the assessment of their capabilities to act and the training they have received and they would like to receive; to determine if the perceptions differ according to gender, age and degree pursued and if there are relationships between the perceptions; and, to define pre-service teachers’ profiles based on perceptions. With a survey research design, 408 students from different undergraduate and graduate education-related degree programs at Spanish public universities participated. Findings highlight the coexistence of three different teacher in training profiles. All profiles exhibit a high level of concern and recognize cyberbullying as a problem. They strongly agree with all the proposed prevention and management measures. Two of the three profiles perceive themselves as highly confident and willing to respond. On the contrary, participants in the third profile do not feel confident enough to act and consider their training insufficient, coinciding with the second profile. The need to approach this issue in the initial training of future education professionals is a main conclusion

Energy efficiency as a goal for new construction projects: analysis of three projects with Passivhaus and Cte energy certificates

Ya que vivimos en un clima mediterráneo he querido investigar más sobre los certificados que tienen algunos edificios en España, para ver como funcionan y se desarrollan. La mayoría de estos certificados están desarrollados en europa central por lo que los parámetros para obtener dicho certíficado corresponden a un clima más frío y más seco. Mi proposito es estudiar tres casas situadas en un mismo clima y que tengan diferentes certificados para así ver cuál es más resolutivo. Para ello he seleccionado a un pionero en casas sostenibles y eficiente que diseño en 2009 la primera casa pasiva en España, se trata del arquitecto Josep Bunyesc. También he escogido una casa del estudio H arquitectes ya que están creciendo exponcialmente y són conocidos por sus diseños dónde el material es una base fundamental para ellos. Por último he optado por una un despacho de arquitectura especializada en casas con el certificado Passivhaus, Arquitir dirigido por Eva Jordán.Living in a country with a Mediterranean climate, I was interested to investigate further about the certificates that some buildings feature in Spain, to explore how they work, and operate. Most of these certificates are developed in central Europe, so the parameters to fulfill such certificates correspond to a colder and drier climate. My purpose is to study three houses affected by the same climate and with different certificates to see which one is more decisive. With this in mind, I have selected the following schemes: Firstly, a pioneering scheme, a sustainable and efficient house, designed in 2009 by architect Josep Bunyesc that became the first passive house in Spain. Secondly, a house signed by H architectes studio, since they are growing exponentially and are known for their designs where the material is a fundamental basis of their work. And thirdly, Arquitir, an architectural firm directed by Eva Jordán and specialising in houses following the Passivhaus certificate

Gammarid and Corophiid Amphipods (Crustacea, Peracarida, Amphipoda) of Laguna de Tamiahua, Veracruz and Laguna Madre, Tamaulipas, Mexico: Spatial and Temporal Distribution

Gammarid and corophiid amphipods were collected in Laguna de Tamiahua and Laguna Madre from seagrass beds, macroalgae, and bare substrates with a Renfro beam net and an otter trawl. Tamiahua provided 17 species, of which Cymadusa compta was the dominant species (66.3%), while Madre provided 24 species with C. compta (60.8%) and Elasmopus levis (20.2%) as the dominant species. Amphipod distribution was widespread in both lagoons, though concentrated along the inner margin of the sand barriers in Halodule wrightii beds. In Tamiahua, five species were present throughout the lagoon, E. levis in the north and center, Ampelisca vadorum in the north and south, and Nototropis minikoi and Melita nitida in the center and south, with Ampithoe valida only in the north, Ampithoe longimana only in the center, and Apohyale prevostii only in the south. In Madre, eight species were present throughout the lagoon, Gammarus mucronatus only in the north and south, Ampelisca vadorum only in the center and Catán, four species only in the north, two only in the center, and two only in the south. The number of species recorded in August and December in general did not vary, whereas the greater density values of August suggest optimum conditions for reproduction and survival, and the lower values of December may follow the harsher climatic conditions and/or predation by visiting migratory birds and fish that winter in these lagoons. Compared with Términos, Alvarado and each other, Tamiahua and Madre are the most similar, since they share 12 species, environmental characteristics, and seagrass distribution

Estilos de aprendizaje, estrategias de aprendizaje y hábitos de estudio de estudiantes universitarios estudio descriptivo a realizarse con estudiantes inscritos en la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Francisco Gavidia en las Carreras de Licenciatura en Psicología y Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Educación a nivel del segundo año en el ciclo II-2012

El interés por conocer los estilos de aprendizaje, estrategias de aprendizaje y hábitos de estudio de los estudiantes viene desde hace mucho tiempo; no obstante en la actualidad esta cuestión adquiere una mayor relevancia, en gran medida por los avances de la educación, así como las altas tasas de fracaso escolar. De hecho, diversas investigaciones se orientan a conocer con profundidad los procesos de aprendizaje y a valorar en qué grado influyen los estilos de aprendizaje, las estrategias de aprendizaje y los hábitos de estudio en el rendimiento escolar. Se tiene la creencia que el estudiante cuando ingresa a la Universidad ya posee estos procesos de aprendizaje lo suficientemente aceptables; sin embargo, la experiencia muestra que un número significativo de estudiantes de enseñanza superior obtienen deficientes resultados, porque no todos hacen frente con éxito a los nuevos desafíos que la Universidad plantea: aumento de exigencia, necesidad creciente de organización de trabajo académico, mayor dedicación al estudio, autonomía, etc

Quienes presentamos el trabajo integramos un proyecto de investigación “Dificultades en el aprendizaje de la matemática básica en carreras de ingeniería” (Faculta de Ciencias Exactas, Ingeniería y Agrimensura, Universidad Nacional de Rosario) que tiene entre sus objetivos diseñar e implementar estrategias didácticas que contribuyan a: Acortar distancias entre niveles educativos, Corregir errores arraigados, Retener a los ingresantes a la Facultad, Comprometer al estudiante en su formación, incentivando su independencia y creatividad, Comprometer a los docentes en el abordaje e implementación de alternativas didácticas más eficaces

Error production provoked by syntactic transfer and the analysis of possible causes in EFL Pre intermediate students

El propósito de este estudio es describir los errores causados por la transferencia lingüística negativa que 10 estudiantes producen cuando han iniciado su proceso de aprendizaje y atienden a un curso de inglés pre-intermedio de un programa de enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera en una universidad pública localizada en el área cafetera colombiana. Categorizando estos errores en diferentes áreas sintácticas propuestas por Ja Park et al (2003). Además de interpretar estos errores e identificar patrones que develan potenciales causas de estos mismos, dichos estudiantes cumplieron con las actividades propuestas en el curso, las cuales en la habilidad de escritura facilitaron la recolección de datos, además de en ambos métodos (recolección de muestras escritas y entrevistas) revelaron una gran variedad de errores originados por transferencia sintáctica negativa que ellos cometen, además de que muchas veces a pesar de que hacen sus trabajos no prestan suficiente atención a releer e incluir practicas de escritura en su cotidiano, asimismo piensan en español cuando escriben en inglés y así se añade una dificultad mas a aprender un idioma extranjero que no es ampliamente hablado en el lugar de aprendizaje, especialmente para una población tan importante como es la de un grupo de futuros profesores de Ingles como lengua extranjera.The purpose of this study is describing the errors caused by linguistic negative transfer, which 10 students produced when they started their learning processes and attend a pre-intermediate course in teaching English as a foreign language program in a public university located in the Colombian coffee area. This, by categorizing those errors in different syntactic areas proposed by Ja Park etal(2003). In addition interpreting those errors and identifying patterns that show causes of these. The data collection of the present study, was facilitated by the learner’s accomplishment of the activities proposed along the course, which in the writing skill, besides, both methods (written simple collection and interviews) evidenced a great variety of errors originated by the syntactic negative transfer that they do, also that many times they make their home works but they do not pay enough attention to re-read and add writing practices in their daily lives, also they think in Spanish when they write in English, and this adds one more difficulty to learn a foreign language which is not widely spoken in the learning place, specially by a population which is so important as a group of future English teachers is

Dificultades en el aprendizaje de matemática. Obstáculos y errores en el aprendizaje del concepto de dependencia e independencia lineal

En el marco del proyecto de investigación del que formamos parte: “Dificultades en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de matemática en carreras no matemáticas”, ubicamos este trabajo que presentamos como reporte de investigación, ya que da cuenta del diseño de aquellos ciclos que se corresponden con el análisis a priori de una situación de aprendizaje, la recolección de datos en la propia situación y el análisis a posteriori de los resultados. Nos ocupamos en esta etapa del análisis de los errores puestos de manifiesto por los alumnos de 1º año de las carreras de Ingeniería, en relación a un tema específico del Álgebra Lineal, como es Dependencia e Independencia Lineal
