Serial coalgebras and their valued Gabriel quivers

    Get PDF
We study serial coalgebras by means of their valued Gabriel quivers. In particular, Hom-computable and representation-directed coalgebras are characterized. The Auslander-Reiten quiver of a serial coalgebra is described. Finally, a version of Eisenbud-Griffith theorem is proved, namely, every subcoalgebra of a prime, hereditary and strictly quasi-finite coalgebra is serial.Comment: 22 page

Selective C(sp2)−H Halogenation of "click" 4-Aryl-1,2,3-triazoles

Selective bromination reactions of “click compounds” are described. Electron-neutral and electron-deficient arenes selectively undergo unprecedented Pd-catalyzed C–H ortho-halogenations assisted by simple triazoles as modular directing groups, whereas electron-rich arenes are regioselectively halogenated following an electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction pathway. These C–H halogenation procedures exhibit a wide group tolerance, complement existing bromination procedures, and represent versatile synthetic tools of utmost importance for the late-stage diversification of “click compounds”. The characterization of a triazole-containing palladacycle and density functional theory studies supported the mechanism proposal. We are grateful to Gobierno Vasco (ELKARTEK_KK-2015/0000101; IT_1033-16) and UPV/EHU (GIU15/31) for financial support. A. C. thanks MINECO for a Ramón y Cajal research contract (RYC-2012-09873). Cost-CHAOS action is also acknowledged

Ideal codes over separable ring extensions

This paper investigates the application of the theoretical algebraic notion of a separable ring extension, in the realm of cyclic convolutional codes or, more generally, ideal codes. We work under very mild conditions, that cover all previously known as well as new non trivial examples. It is proved that ideal codes are direct summands as left ideals of the underlying non-commutative algebra, in analogy with cyclic block codes. This implies, in particular, that they are generated by an idempotent element. Hence, by using a suitable separability element, we design an efficient algorithm for computing one of such idempotents

Factors affecting quits and layoffs in Spain

During the last decade, unemployment rates in the European Union have been higher than in other regions, e.g., the United States, and these are even higher in Spain. It has been argued that the different degrees of labour mobility between the European and the American labour markets can account for the differences in the pattern observed. This paper follows the McLaughlin's model (1991) and provides empirical evidence regarding the factors determining quits and layoffs due to contract termination and non-renewal in Spain, following the efficient-turnover theory and wage flexibility. The data was obtained from the Spanish Household Panel Survey (PHOGUE) conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE 1995). Our evidence, on the one hand, indicates that workers' characteristics influence on the probability of changing job. On the other hand, the influency of the factors affecting labour mobility is different depending on whether job separation was triggered by quits or layoffs.quit, layoff, wage revision and bivariate probit.

In the current effervescence of the studies on the feminine monasticism in the Modern Spain, this article approaches how his intrahistoria can be known, collaborating this way to filling a certain still existing emptiness in this plot, from the analysis of the documentation deprived of a monastic economy and of the compared history, with the objective double of presenting the possibilities and weaknesses of the above mentioned source and the panorama that his contest offers for different facets of the collective life cenobítica. Real, so, scientific contribution to the knowledge of the modernist historiography in this area for the nature of the analyzed and, documentation especially, the originality of his approach.
