ANALISIS PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN TEMATIK OLEH GURU DI SDN SEMPU 2 KOTA SERANG
The objectives of this study were (1) To describe the implementation of thematic learning by teachers in class V SDN Sempu 2 Kota Serang, (2) to describe the results of the application of thematic learning by teachers to fifth grade students of SDN Sempu 2 Kota Serang. The research took place in SDN Sempu 2 Kota Serang. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. The results of the study: (1) the implementation of thematic learning by the teacher in class V SDN Sempu 2 Serang City has been running in accordance with the provisions of the government. During the Covid 19 pandemic, learning activities underwent changes, learning activities were carried out through 2 types of activities. There are face-to-face activities carried out by teachers visiting students' homes and learning activities carried out through the WhatsApp Group, (2) The results of the application of thematic learning by teachers to fifth grade students of SDN Sempu 2, Kota Serang, students become easier to accept the material presented, students are more active in the question and answer session, students become more character because the teacher always strengthens character through habituation activities during learning
Development of bambangan (Mangifera pajang) carbonated drink
Mangifera pajang Kostermans or bambangan is a popular fruit among Sabahan due
to its health and economic values. However, the fruit is not fully commercialized since it is
usually been used as traditional cuisine by local people. Thus, development of bambangan fruit
into carbonated drink was conducted to produce new product concept. The objectives of this
study were to conceptualize, formulate, evaluate consumer acceptance, and determine
physicochemical properties and nutritional composition of the accepted product. Method used
in conceptualising the product was based on questionnaire. The consumer acceptance was
evaluated based on descriptive and affective tests with four product formulations tested. The
physicochemical properties on carbon dioxide volume, colour, pH, total acidity, total soluble
solid (TSS) and viscosity were highlighted, meanwhile nutritional composition on fat, protein,
carbohydrates and energy content were determined. About 77% respondents gave positive
feedback, and 69% respondents decided this product is within their budget. The formulation of
5% bambangan pulp, 70% water, 25% sugar and 0.2% citric acid was highly accepted in
descriptive and affective tests with 4.4 and 6.39 mean scores, respectively. The
physicochemical properties and nutritional composition of the acceptance product were in
optimum value except for colour, total acidity and TSS. Overall, this study showed that the
product has high potential to be commercialized as new product concept, and heritage of
indigenous people can be preserved when this fruit is known regionally
The relationship between ICT adoption and business performance in Malaysia and Indonesia
This paper reviews the relationship of information communication technology adoption (ICT) and
Business Performance (BP) from women entrepreneur perspective in Malaysia and Indonesia. The aim of
this paper is to identify the dimension of ICT adoption and BP to develop a conceptual framework for
further study about the relationship to identify those that can determine women entrepreneur success. To
achieve this objective, literature review is conducted by extend number of literature in ICT, BP, and
women entrepreneur. Related studies are review and analyze by using literature table. The finding of this
paper reveals a proposed conceptual framework and hypothesis that gain support from literature. The
significant of this study is expected to provide guideline for women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and
Indonesia who wish to adopt ICT in their business and help them to evaluate the relationship with BP.
This study can assist women entrepreneurs in considering the adoption of Electronic commerce (EC) and
Mobile commerce (MC) to embark themselves in technology and innovation. Further efforts are to test
this conceptual framework and hypothesis by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to develop a
research model
Coupled surface plasmons and optical guided wave exploration of near-surface director profile

DOI: 10.1088/1367-2630/9/3/049For a liquid crystal (LC) cell with thin silver claddings it is possible, using a high index coupling prism, to excite both surface plasmon modes and ordinary optical guided modes. In a situation where the tilt of the director varies from homogeneous to homeotropic through the cell, then for p-polarized incident radiation the p-polarized surface plasmon mode and the ordinary guided waves may couple to each other. When the plane containing the director is normal to the incident plane, there is also polarization conversion leading to strong coupling between the p-polarized surface plasmon and s-like guided modes. From theoretical analyses together with numerical modelling it is shown how this coupling between the surface plasmon mode and guided waves gives a high sensitivity to the surface director tilt profile near the walls, higher than that of the surface plasmon mode alone. Experimental confirmation of this has been realized using a hybrid aligned nematic (HAN) LC cell with the director in a plane normal to the incident plane. The results fully confirm the model predictions showing that this coupling of surface plasmons to guided waves provides a powerful tool for near-surface director studies
Lactic Acid Bacterium with antimicrobial properties from selected Malay traditional fermented foods
Traditional or local fermented foods have been the favourite sources for Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) used for starter cultures. Traditional food such as fermented cassava ‘tapai ubi’, fermented glutinous rice ‘tapai pulut’ and fermented shrimp paste ‘belacan’ have been local heritage consumed as Malay delicacies. In this work, 33 LAB samples were isolated from tapai ubi, tapai pulut and belacan and out of these only 5 LAB isolates (PG, PH, BG, UG and UL) showed inhibitory properties against selected indicator organisms (Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Staphylococcus aureus). Morphologically, isolate PG, PH, BG are cocci, UL is rod and UG is coccobacillus. Biochemically, isolates (PG, PH, BG UL and UG) are found to be Gram positive, non motile, lactose fermenter and catalase negative. The 16s Ribosomal RNA gene sequencing was carried out and each was identified with an accession number (PB: MT645488, PH: MT645489; BG: MT645490 UG: MT645491 and UL MT645492). Isolates PG and PH from tapai pulut belonged to Pediococcus pentosaceus (at 99% and 98%, respectively). Meanwhile, isolate from Belacan BG belonged to Enterococcus faecium (99%), and those from fermented shrimp, UG and UL belonged to Weissella confusa (99%), and Lactobacillus fermentum (98%), respectively. Majority of the isolates demonstrated broad spectrum inhibition against both Gram positive and negative indicator strains. Compared to the rest of isolates, PH exhibited the highest antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis. These results suggested that isolate PH are the most potent isolates which is producing antimicrobial agent with potential as food preservatives
Diabetic foot presentation and surgical outcome at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kota Bharu, Kelantan: a prospective review
Objective:
To review the presentation and its surgical outcome among diabetic foot patients at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ II), Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Methodology:
This is a prospective study of 35 diabetic foot patients who were admitted to orthopaedic wards of HRPZ II from April to May 2007. Subjects were interview for sensory neuropathy and peripheral vascular disease. The lesion was classified based on Wegner’s and King’s classification. Blood glucose level and HbA1c were reviewed. Subjects were followed up for the surgical outcome.
Results:
18 male patient (51.4%) and 17 female patients (48.6%) were involved in the study with men age of 58.4 ± 7.8 yeas old. Most of them are Malay (91.4%, n=32). 33 (94.3) patients were known to have diabetes mellitus with median duration of 12 years (range of 1-30 years). 71.0% (n=22) had significant neuropathy and 12% (n=3) had significant peripheral vascular disease. 51.4% (n=18) were classified in Grade 4 Wegner’s and Stage 5 King’s. Mean glucometer at early presentation was 14.7 ± 5.1 mmol/L and mean random blood glucose was 14.3 ± 8.0 mmol/L. HbA1c results revealed that 82.3% (n=14) of them had HbA1c more 8.0%. 14.3% (n=5) of the patients were planned for major amputation and 25.7% (n=9) were planned for Ray’s amputation. Within the study period, two patients died due to septicaemia.
Conclusion:
Majority of patients presented at advanced stage problem with poor glucose control. Rate of amputation was 40.0% and 14.3% ended up with major amputation
Critical success factors of women entrepreneurship practice for women entrepreneurs in Malaysia
The purpose of present study is to analyses the critical success factors of WEP implementation in Malaysia. The study indicates six critical success factor of WEP (entrepreneurial traits, entrepreneurial experience, management skill, customer relation, training and education and environment). A total of 38 responses from women entrepreneurs in Malaysia were collected through email and on-line questionnaires. The result shows the mean values are 5.811 to 5.461, consider good at WEP implementation. The dimension TE (5.811) and EE (5.758) have the highest mean value and shown to be the most important dimensions of WEP implementation for women entrepreneur in Malaysia SMEs. The implications present study is anticipated to help better understand women entrepreneurs' condition, needs and provide new insights for the critical success factors of a more gender-specific practice for women entrepreneurs in Malaysia. This study also provides important guidelines to implement WEP. In future research, the relationship between WEP and business performance of women entrepreneur in Malaysia will be analyses and then compare the results to other countries
