The research aim is to identify peculiarities of the concept "устойчивое развитие / sustainable development", presented in the Russian-language and English-language discourse of natural management, which were identified and systematized units objectifying this concept, described the main cognitive features concept "устойчивое развитие / sustainable development", which build its content in the Russian-language and English-language discourse of natural management. The identified cognitive features of the concept "устойчивое развитие / sustainable development" are presented in form of its macrostructure and field organization. We also have made conclusions about peculiarities of objectification of this concept in the Russian- language and English-language discourse of natural management

Magnetoresistance and spin-transfer torque in magnetic tunnel junctions

We comment on both recent progress and lingering puzzles related to research on magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs). MTJs are already being used in applications such as magnetic-field sensors in the read heads of disk drives, and they may also be the first device geometry in which spin-torque effects are applied to manipulate magnetic dynamics, in order to make nonvolatile magnetic random access memory. However, there remain many unanswered questions about such basic properties as the magnetoresistance of MTJs, how their properties change as a function of tunnel-barrier thickness and applied bias, and what are the magnitude and direction of the spin-transfer-torque vector induced by a tunnel current.Comment: 37 pages, 2 figures. Contribution to a collection of "Current Perspectives" articles on spin transfer torque now available in the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Material

    Cooperative underwater acoustic communications

This article presents a contemporary overview of underwater acoustic communication (UWAC) and investigates physical layer aspects on cooperative transmission techniques for future UWAC systems. Taking advantage of the broadcast nature of wireless transmission, cooperative communication realizes spatial diversity advantages in a distributed manner. The current literature on cooperative communication focuses on terrestrial wireless systems at radio frequencies with sporadic results on cooperative UWAC. In this article, we summarize initial results on cooperative UWAC and investigate the performance of a multicarrier cooperative UWAC considering the inherent unique characteristics of the underwater channel. Our simulation results demonstrate the superiority of cooperative UWAC systems over their point-to-point counterparts. © 1979-2012 IEEE

    Selbstbestimmt teilhaben in Altenpflegeeinrichtungen

Abstract Elderly residents of nursing homes do not only have the right to receive high-quality medical and nursing care, but also and explicitly to lead an autonomous life that enables them to partic-ipate in society. This right is not least stipulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The application-based research project ‘Autonomous Participation in Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly’ analysed the prerequisites for realising elderly residents’ autonomous participation in their nursing homes. Within the framework of a sequential mixed methods study, the researchers conducted interviews with such residents, their relatives and care home staff, participatory observations in selected nursing homes and an online survey throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. As a result, they were able to identify factors which facilitate and restrict such participation from the perspectives of the residents, staff and the care home itself for the first time, and thus stipulate important requirements for the facilitation and implementation of participation within a framework model

Magnetic order in orbital models of the iron pnictides

We examine the appearance of the experimentally-observed stripe spin-density-wave magnetic order in five different orbital models of the iron pnictide parent compounds. A restricted mean-field ansatz is used to determine the magnetic phase diagram of each model. Using the random phase approximation, we then check this phase diagram by evaluating the static spin susceptibility in the paramagnetic state close to the mean-field phase boundaries. The momenta for which the susceptibility is peaked indicate in an unbiased way the actual ordering vector of the nearby mean-field state. The dominant orbitally resolved contributions to the spin susceptibility are also examined to determine the origin of the magnetic instability. We find that the observed stripe magnetic order is possible in four of the models, but it is extremely sensitive to the degree of the nesting between the electron and hole Fermi pockets. In the more realistic five-orbital models, this order competes with a strong-coupling incommensurate state which appears to be controlled by details of the electronic structure below the Fermi energy. We conclude by discussing the implications of our work for the origin of the magnetic order in the pnictides.Comment: 19 pages, 19 figures; published version, typos corrected, references adde
