Dopamine receptor D5 signaling plays a dual role in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis potentiating Th17-mediated immunity and favoring suppressive activity of regulatory T-cells

Nevertheless, the lack of drugs that might discriminate between DRD1 and DRD5 has made the pharmacological distinction between the two receptors difficult. We have previously shown genetic evidence demonstrating a relevant role of DRD5-signaling in dendritic cells (DCs) favoring the CD4+ T-cell-driven inflammation in EAE. However, the role of DRD5-signaling confined to CD4+ T-cells in the development of EAE is still unknown. Here, we analyzed the functional role of DRD5-signaling in CD4+ T-cell-mediated responses and its relevance in EAE by using a genetic approach. Our results show that DRD5-signaling confined to naive CD4+ T-cells exerts a pro-inflammatory effect promoting the development of EAE with a stronger disease severity. This pro-inflammatory effect observed for DRD5-signaling in naive CD4+ T-cells was related with an exacerbated proliferation in response to T-cell activation and to an increased ability to differentiate toward the Th17 inflammatory phenotype. On the other hand, quite unexpected, our results show that DRD5-signaling confined to Tregs strengthens their suppressive activity, thereby dampening the development of EAE manifestation. This anti-inflammatory effect of DRD5-signaling in Tregs was associated with a selective increase in the expression of glucocorticoid-induced tumor necrosis factor receptor-related protein (GITR), which has been described to play a critical role in the expansion of Tregs. Our findings here indicate a complex role for DRD5-signaling in CD4+ T-cells-driven responses potentiating early inflammation mediated by effector T-cells in EAE, but exacerbating suppressive activity in Tregs and thereby dampening disease manifestation in late EAE stages. © 2018 Osorio-Barrios, Prado, Contreras and Pacheco.https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fncel.2018.00192/ful

PERCEPCIÓN DE LOS MARCOS REGULATORIOS DEL SISTEMA UNIVERSITARIO IBEROAMERICANO

Muchos coinciden en señalar que la gestión del gobierno universitario es uno de los factores determinantes para mejorar el quehacer administrativo y, desde esa plataforma, las tareas académicas. Considerando esta realidad, este trabajo se plantea como objetivo cardinal conocer la percepción que tienen los expertos del ámbito universitario respecto de las normativas que regulan el quehacer universitario. Para lograr este propósito, se analizan 8 variables de un cuestionario auto aplicado a diferentes funcionarios universitarios denominados -en el marco de esta investigación- como expertos . Se trabaja con una muestra no probabilística de 354 personas pertenecientes a diferentes universidades iberoamericanas. Como hallazgos relevantes, se pueden destacar la identificación y la reflexión en torno a elementos y factores determinantes considerados por la teoría de agencia, los que son aplicables al mundo de la gestión universitaria. Asimismo, se observa en general una postura dividida respecto a la calidad y eficiencia de los diferentes sistemas de control de las universidades iberoamericanas. ¿Quién soy yo y quién eres tú? La reformulación gadameriana de la aperturidad de la existencia

Por medio de un contraste con el pensamiento heideggeriano, el estudio desarrolla la concepción gadameriana de la alteridad, el lugar que ocupa este tema en la propuesta hermenéutica de Verdad y Método y la reformulación que ello supone de la manera como Heidegger concibe la aperturidad de la existencia humana y el acontecimiento mismo del ser. El trabajo inicia planteando la crítica de Gadamer al reconocimiento ontológico del otro por parte de Heidegger; muestra enseguida la oposición que se presenta entre el “ser-para-la-muerte” y el “ser-para-la-historia”, la relevancia que tiene en Gadamer la vida práctica y la idea de diálogo como modelo de la comprensión. Se concluye mostrando la oposición que se da entre ambos autores en la manera de considerar el modo de ser del lenguaje y el acontecimiento del ser que en éste tiene lugar. [/] In permanent contrast with Heidegger’s thought, this study develops Gadamer’s conception of otherness, its place in the hermeneutic project of Truth and Method and the reformulation that all this entails of human existence disclosedness and the event of being itself. Work starts raising Gadamer’s critique to the ontological [42] recognition of the others by Heidegger; it shows then the opposition between the “being-towards-death” and “being-for-history”, and the relevance of practical life and the idea of dialogue as a model of understanding in Gadamer’s philosophy. It concludes by showing the opposition between both authors regarding language’s essence and the event of being that takes place on it

La migración neta en Andalucía en el tránsito del XVIII al XIX

Este estudio es de un ejercicio de aplicación del método de la migración neta de las actuales provincias andaluza en el tránsito del siglo XVIII al XIX. La fuente estadística base es el censo de Floridablanca, en tanto que ofrece la posibilidad de afrontar el estudio de amplios espacios territoriales, además de garantizar un mínimo de homogeneidad informativa imprescindible para aplicar procedimientos comparativos entre espacios regionales (Andalucía-Galicia), provinciales, etc. Se parte del supuesto del efecto selectivo de las migraciones en la estructura de las poblaciones, sobre todo en las anteriores a las migraciones masivas de fines del XIX, por lo que mediante este método podremos establecer hipótesis contrastadas sobre la dimensión y dirección de las mismas a diferentes escalas de estudio.___________________________________________This study is an exercise in applying the method of the net migration of the current provinces of Andalusia in the transition from XVIII to XIX century. The basic statistical source is the census of Floridablanca, while offering the opportunity to start the study of large territorial areas, and ensure an uniform basic information necessary for the application procedures comparative regional areas (Andalusia, Galicia), provincial, etc. It is assumed for the selective effect of migration on population structure, especially in the mass migration before the end of the nineteenth century, so by this method can establish hypotheses tested on the size and direction of such a different scales of study
