How to promote healthy eating habits in children
A Work Project, presented as part of the requirements for the Award of a Masters Degree in Management from the NOVA – School of Business and EconomicsChildhood’s overweight and obesity are a worrying issue in the world nowadays. The purpose of this study was to provide contributions to the promotion of healthy food by analyzing the impact of physical activity, parents’ influence and home meals frequency on children’s food choices.
Structured questionnaires were used and were answered by 172 children between 10 and 14 years old and by their respective parents.
Children and parents preferred healthy food vs. non-healthy food presenting the children’s healthy food choices a mean of 4.26 and the parent’s healthy food choices a mean of 4.47 in a scale ranging from 0 to 6. Our results also show that physical activity, parent’s education and home meals frequency did not have an impact on children’s food choices, contrasting to the sedentary behavior and parents’ choices which had a negative and positive correlation, respectively, with children’s food choices.
Taking these results into account and using them to advise parents and companies, we underline that parents must guarantee an adequate children’s nutrition after doing physical efforts and control the time children watch TV and play computer games and companies may create marketing campaigns and educational programs in order to promote healthy food, improve children’s eating habits and reduce the childhood obesity prevalence

Business networks: development of actors’ strategic guidelines from the analysis of negotiation situations in Portugal
Classifications of JEL Classification System:
D74 - Conflict; Conflict Resolution; Alliances.
L14 - Transactional Relationships; Contracts and Reputation; Networks. The importance of relationships within business networks is increasing significantly in today’s more competitive and global world. The organization actors’ performance, especially in negotiation, is a key factor to consider in those relationships. But, on one hand, there is no structured approach from business network theory to negotiation and, on the other hand, the integrative negotiation main models and theories were not developed in the business network context. Within this environment, this dissertation’s objective is based on the identification and analysis of the actors’ main factors which impact negatively specific negotiation situations – negotiations with an initial perception of a potential win-win outcome, between different companies in a business network, and that ultimately lead to no agreement. The dissertation is focused only on the Portuguese market. We used a multiple-case design by analyzing thirty negotiation situations, focused on a sub-set of recent potential win-win negotiations between three different companies that did not reach an agreement. After identifying the main actors-related causes for not reaching an agreement, we identified the main factors and their relationships and derived learning outcomes from them. We believe we have made knowledge contributions to the Business Network Analysis and the Negotiations Analysis perspectives, and also to the general description of the business networks’ actors’ negotiation processes in Portugal, through five questions’ analysis and debate. There were limitations to the study and there are other areas or studies that can be further researched in the future.
The impact of rebranding on fox comedy
In the context of the Portuguese television market, this thesis aims to quantify the
effects of rebranding on Fox Comedy. We find that, on average, rebranding results in a 0,05%
increase in the share of audience, indirectly influencing the share of investment in advertising,
by producing effects in different variables of the TV channel. Moreover, we provide a
forecasting model for the share of investment in advertising, where we tackle the jump in the
time series data carried out by the rebranding process. The predictions are of a 3 p.p. increase

mesmas figuras representando e liderando: homens (brancos).
Accessibility and local development: interaction between cross-border accessibility and local development in Portugal and Spain
The main objective in this work is to understand road infrastructure’s impact on development, especially in the EU-context and in the border areas between Portugal and Spain. In these areas, a new road infrastructure was built in the last decades, changing completely the accessibility panorama, while the development variables seem to get worst in most of the cross border regions. Some links are still missing, but some already exist and are not having the expected development impact. The analysis is to be done at the municipality level in order to evaluate the regional differences within the cross border area, which is not possible at the higher NUTIII level.Peer Reviewe

The urban morphology of Braga between Late Antiquity and the fourteenth-fifteenth centuries
This paper aims to approach the urban transformation processes occurring in the city of Braga between Late Antiquity and the fourteenth-fifteenth centuries. Our approach is based upon the cross-referencing of documental, iconographic and cartographic data with data emerging from archaeological works conducted across the city throughout the last two decades. Despite the scarcity in sources documenting the historical period under study, a similar
circumstance registered in other western European cities, new and emerging archaeological
data associated with a regressive analysis of available information for the forthcoming centuries —documents, maps, plans and illustrations, have been contributing towards an advance in the overall knowledge regarding the continuity and changing processes impacting upon the urban area of Braga.
Thereby, our goal is to develop a synthesis work describing the major evolutionary
stages happening in Braga from the fifth to the fifteenth centuries and based upon anintegrated analysis of the architectonic markers, the morphology present in the urban setting, the existing Christian topography, the defensive system and the main road network
