    Even spin N=4\mathcal{N}=4 holography

A two-dimensional Sp(2N2N) vector model with small N=4\mathcal{N}=4 superconformal symmetry is formulated, and its chiral algebra is shown to be generated by superprimary fields of even conformal weight. This vector model is the large level limit of a coset theory with large N=4\mathcal{N}=4, whose proposed AdS3_3 dual is a minimal Vasiliev higher spin theory with gauge algebra generated by fields of even spin. The relation of this vector model to the symmetric product orbifold, dual to tensionless strings in AdS3_3 ×\times S3^3 ×\times T4\mathbb{T}^4, is also worked out.Comment: Accepted for publication in JHEP; references added; comments added to the introduction; details added to the final sectio

Higher spins on AdS3_{3} from the worldsheet

It was recently shown that the CFT dual of string theory on AdS3×S3×T4{\rm AdS}_3 \times {\rm S}^3 \times T^4, the symmetric orbifold of T4T^4, contains a closed higher spin subsector. Via holography, this makes precise the sense in which tensionless string theory on this background contains a Vasiliev higher spin theory. In this paper we study this phenomenon directly from the worldsheet. Using the WZW description of the background with pure NS-NS flux, we identify the states that make up the leading Regge trajectory and show that they fit into the even spin N=4{\cal N}=4 Vasiliev higher spin theory. We also show that these higher spin states do not become massless, except for the somewhat singular case of level k=1k=1 where the theory contains a stringy tower of massless higher spin fields coming from the long string sector.Comment: 29+8 pages, 3 figure

The plane-wave spectrum from the worldsheet

We study string theory on AdS3\mathrm{AdS}_3 backgrounds with mixed flux using the hybrid formalism of Berkovits, Vafa and Witten. We solve the worldsheet description of the theory completely in the plane-wave limit. This constitutes a direct derivation of the plane-wave spectrum from the worldsheet with mixed flux.Comment: 32 pages; v2: version accepted by JHE

We reduce some aspects related to the production of bilingual programmes. The major part of this production was under-taken by young people of the wichi community. This article synthesises the most important aspects related to the production of the bilingual programmes. By means of this participative process, we facilitate the ability of the aborigenes to develop their identity and the intercultural dialogue of great importance in the context of globalisation

Evidence-Based Treatment Options in Recurrent and/or Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck.

The major development of the past decade in the first-line treatment of recurrent and/or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (R/M SCCHN) was the introduction of cetuximab in combination with platinum plus 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy (CT), followed by maintenance cetuximab (the EXTREME regimen). This regimen is supported by a phase 3 randomized trial and subsequent observational studies, and it confers well-documented survival benefits, with median survival ranging between approximately 10 and 14 months, overall response rates between 36 and 44%, and disease control rates of over 80%. Furthermore, as indicated by patient-reported outcome measures, the addition of cetuximab to platinum-based CT leads to a significant reduction in pain and problems with social eating and speech. Conversely, until very recently, there has been a lack of evidence-based second-line treatment options, and the therapies that have been available have shown low response rates and poor survival outcomes. Presently, a promising new treatment option in R/M SCCHN has emerged: immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), which have demonstrated favorable results in second-line clinical trials. Nivolumab and pembrolizumab are the first two ICIs that were approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. We note that the trials that showed benefit with ICIs included not only patients who previously received ≥1 platinum-based regimens for R/M SCCHN but also patients who experienced recurrence within 6 months after combined modality therapy with a platinum agent for locally advanced disease. In this review, we outline the available clinical and observational evidence for the EXTREME regimen and the initial results from clinical trials for ICIs in patients with R/M SCCHN. We propose that these treatment options can be integrated into a new continuum of care paradigm, with first-line EXTREME regimen followed by second-line ICIs. A number of ongoing clinical trials are comparing regimens with ICIs, alone and in combination with other ICIs or CT, with the EXTREME regimen for first-line treatment of R/M SCCHN. As we eagerly await the results of these trials, the EXTREME regimen remains the standard of care for the first-line treatment of R/M SCCHN

A Diffusion-based Method for Multi-turn Compositional Image Generation

Multi-turn compositional image generation (M-CIG) is a challenging task that aims to iteratively manipulate a reference image given a modification text. While most of the existing methods for M-CIG are based on generative adversarial networks (GANs), recent advances in image generation have demonstrated the superiority of diffusion models over GANs. In this paper, we propose a diffusion-based method for M-CIG named conditional denoising diffusion with image compositional matching (CDD-ICM). We leverage CLIP as the backbone of image and text encoders, and incorporate a gated fusion mechanism, originally proposed for question answering, to compositionally fuse the reference image and the modification text at each turn of M-CIG. We introduce a conditioning scheme to generate the target image based on the fusion results. To prioritize the semantic quality of the generated target image, we learn an auxiliary image compositional match (ICM) objective, along with the conditional denoising diffusion (CDD) objective in a multi-task learning framework. Additionally, we also perform ICM guidance and classifier-free guidance to improve performance. Experimental results show that CDD-ICM achieves state-of-the-art results on two benchmark datasets for M-CIG, i.e., CoDraw and i-CLEVR

VeriFx: Correct Replicated Data Types for the Masses (Artifact)

    Get PDF
Our related article presents our novel verification language, called VeriFx. We used VeriFx to implement and verify 51 Conflict-Free Replicated Data Types (CRDTs) and 9 Operational Transformation (OT) functions. This artifact bundles the implementation of the various CRDTs and OT functions described in the article. The artifact also contains a Docker file that can be used to reproduce the verification results (Table 1 and 2 in the article). In addition, the artifact can also be used to run custom VeriFx programs and verify their correctness
