On the 15th year of redaction of Aparecida's Document, the author reviews some key points about the missionary-disciple's spirituality. It must be insert on life, integrate the contemplation with the social action, to be united to mission, and don't neglect its popular appearance. For last, he makes a refferencia to words that the Pope Francis said on his travel to Rio de Janeiro on 2013. The Aparecida's document is still ringing today and it has a lot to contribute to Latinoamerican Church's life.

Spain’s national network of silos and granaries: architectural and technological change over time

    Get PDF
Aim of study: To analyse the 670 silos in Spain’s NNSG (National Network of Silos and Granaries), along with the changes in typologies and degree of mechanisation taking place over time.Area of study: Spain.Material and methods: Research began in 2014, collecting NNSG grain storage data across Spain further to the methodology developed by the authors. In a first stage the information was gathered from the FEGA’s general archives in Madrid and the archives of the departments of agriculture in the 13 regions where silos were built. In the second stage of the study, 665 silos were explored in situ. Photographs were taken and information was gathered on their characteristics (general features; architectural features; technological facilities).Main results: This paper discusses the architectural and typological changes taking place over time, from the earliest small, local, richly adorned brick silos to larger, more modern and austere reinforced concrete structures. The machinery with which they are fitted is also addressed, with the progression from basic grain storage to more sophisticated equipment designed to clean, refrigerate or disinfect the grain. Some facilities were used exclusively to select and condition seed for subsequent sowing. The most modern structures, known as macrosilos, are highly mechanised affairs.Research highlights: Spain’s national network of silos and granaries was 41 years in the building. The inventory of the 665 existing silos identified 20 types or subtypes. Early richly adorned units gradually gave way to more austere, functional structures. The machinery in place in silos varied with type/purpose and period of construction

Multifactor implicit measures to assess enterprising personality dimensions

    Get PDF
Background: Several implicit measures have been proposed to overcome limitations of self-reports. The present study aimed to develop a new implicit association test (MFT-IAT) to assess enterprising-related traits, exploring its reliability and validity evidence. Method: A total of 1,142 individuals (Mean age 42.36 years, SD = 13.17) from the general population were assessed. Participants were asked about sociodemographic data, employment status, and personality traits using the Battery for the Assessment of the Enterprising Personality (BEPE). They completed an MFT-IAT designed to assess the BEPE’s traits (achievement motivation, autonomy, innovativeness, self-effi cacy, locus of control, optimism, stress tolerance and risk taking). Reliability was estimated using Cronbach’s alpha. Exploratory Factor Analyses (EFAs) were performed to assess the internal structure of the MFT-IAT. Correlations and a Multiple Analysis of Variance were used to estimate validity evidence based on the relationship towith participants’ employment status. Results: EFAs provided validity evidence for all dimensions with high internal consistency (a = .92-.93). Correlations between implicit and explicit measures were non-signifi cant. Non- implicit measures yielded signifi cant differences between employment statuses. Discussion: This is a pioneering study in this fi eld and more research is needed to improve the feasibility and practicality of implicit measures in applied assessment settings. The present study was funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (Refs: PSI2014-56114-P and PSI2017-85724-P) and a predoctoral grant (Ref: BES- 2015-073327). Both funding sources played no role in the study design, data collection, analysis or interpretation of the result

Electronic Energy Relaxation in a Photoexcited Fully Fused Edge-Sharing Carbon Nanobelt

    Get PDF
Carbon nanobelts are cylindrical molecules composed of fully fused edge-sharing arene rings. Because of their aesthetically appealing structures, they acquire unusual optoelectronic properties that are potentially suitable for a range of applications in nanoelectronics and photonics. Nevertheless, the very limited success of their synthesis has led to their photophysical properties remaining largely unknown. Compared to that of carbon nanorings (arenes linked by single bonds), the strong structural rigidity of nanobelts prevents significant deformations away from the original high-symmetry conformation and, therefore, impacts their photophysical properties. Herein, we study the photoinduced dynamics of a successfully synthesized belt segment of (6,6)CNT (carbon nanotube). Modeling this process with nonadiabatic excited state molecular dynamics simulations uncovers the critical role played by the changes in excited state wave function localization on the different types of carbon atoms. This allows a detailed description of the excited state dynamics and spatial exciton evolution throughout the nanobelt scaffold. Our results provide detailed information about the excited state electronic properties and internal conversion rates that is potentially useful for designing nanobelts for nanoelectronic and photonic applications.Fil: Freixas Lemus, Victor Manuel. Ultrasound-guided interventions in rheumatology

Over the last few years, percutaneous procedures have undergone great advances, thanks to the ultrasound (US) guidance, due to the technical improvements in the US field, combined with the greater availability, good portability, and reduced cost of US devices. The direct target visualization and the real-time imaging performance enabled by US-guidance account for an improved accuracy in needle placement in several rheumatology interventions. So, ultrasound-guided procedures contribute to several diagnostic or therapeutic procedures such as fluid aspiration or treatment instillations of common joints, tendons, and bursas. In clinical practice, this fact is especially important in the case of depth areas like the hip, small anatomical structures as tendon sheaths or nerves in tenosynovitis or nervous blocks, or complex anatomical structures like the spine's facet joints. The US-guide is an essential tool for performing diagnostic procedures as synovial biopsy. US can also be combined with other imaging techniques, like the establishment portal arthroscopy for instance. Compared to older blind procedures, US-guided injections are more accurate and safer, and they result in better clinical outcomes in terms of joints improvement in function and decreased risk of damages caused by needle misplacement. With the ultrasound guided treatment, we can avoid the instillation of therapeutic products outside the predetermined target, which may be sometimes potentially harmful. The aim of this article is to describe the main generalities of ultrasound-guided procedures in rheumatology, their main advantages and disadvantages, and their particularities in joints where they are most frequently used, such as the shoulder, hip, and knee

Urban mobility trends and climate change: sustainability policies in the parking industry

    Get PDF
The concern to create cleaner and more ecosystem-friendly production processes has extended to the parking sector in Spain. Since the creation of the multi-level institutional framework for sustainable mobility management (mainly composed of the Infrastructure, Transport and Housing Plan 2012–2024, the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans, Law 9/2006, and Law 9/2017), environmental considerations, including sustainable management certificates, have occupied a privileged place in public procedures for the management of parking structures and regulated surface parking facilities. Although there have been previous academic studies on the design and implementation of SUMPs and the growth of the parking sector, this article is novel in that it analyzes the market concentration of the parking sector in a scenario where climate change policies are crucial and the importance of sustainability certificates takes on a new meaning. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze whether the growing importance of environmental aspects has led to an increase in the concentration level of the parking sector in Spain. For this purpose, several concentration and stability indices are calculated. The results show that, although there are additional factors, the certification of a cleaner activity is relevant in the process of public tenders in the sector, which has served to strengthen the dominance of the most prominent companies in the sector that are in possession of environmental certificates. This shows that environmental policies can also have negative effects on the market, so the results of this analysis are of great value to policymakers.Xunta de Galicia | Ref.
