Előszó - Replika 90-91. Belépés jelszóval! Online világok és kutatási módszereik
The present volume of Replika (2015 Vol. 90-91) focuses on the issues of media usage and Internet research. The applied approaches include varying disciplinary traditions such as cultural anthropology, ethnology, sociology, media and communication studies, as well as linguistics. With all these specific viewpoints, the guesteditors attempt to demonstrate how the diverse interest of Hungarian researchers connect to the specific topic
WIRELESS APPLICATION PROTOCOL PERFORMANCE
Our work addresses the various performance testing aspects of the WAP architecture. For a systematic
approach at first the architectural elements have to be identified. Then appropriate testing methods have
to be found for testing each element and for the test of the entire architecture.
In this paper we shall outline a theoretical basis for testing the influence on the performance of the
wireless network and the IP backbone through the service quality parameters. First the service quality
parameters are introduced from the provider and the user viewpoint, then the effect of the network
(wireless and IP backbone) through bearers and transport protocol overheads on these parameters is
analyzed. Conclusions are drawn regarding the results of the analysis and further steps are outlined for
the refinement of our study. The results have not been confirmed by
measurements yet, we are working
on appropriate test scenarios to validate the outcomes and to refine our model.
The final purpose of the work is to specify a performance parameter monitoring system for in-use
WAP architectures that would tune the WAP parameters `on the fly´ in order to
optimise the service quality parameters from the user viewpoint

A kéztő és kézközép ritkább sérüléseiről
A szerző két klinikai eset folytán ismerteti a kéztőízület ritkább sérüléseit, különös tekintettel a perilunaris dorsaliis ficamokra és az első közközépcsont Bennet-féle törésére. Közli a sérülések előforlulásának gyakoriságát és mechanismusát. Felhívja a figyelmet ezen sérülések jelentőségére és ismerteti a ma folyamatban lévő gyógyeljárásokat. SUMMARY: In connection with two cases treated by the author some types of injury of the carpal joint are discussed: dorsal perilunar luxation and Bennet’s fracture of the first metacarpal bone. It is dealing with the incidence and mechanism of these injuries. The author is calling attention to their significance and the methods used now for treatment
Grammatical sensitivity and working memory in children with language impairment
Children with primary language impairment (LI) show a deficit in processing various grammatical structures, verb inflections, and syntactically complex sentences among other things (Clahsen-Hansen 1997; Leonard et al. 1997). Cross-linguistic research has shown that the pattern of performance is language-specific. We examined grammatical sensitivity to word order and agreement violations in 50 Hungarian-speaking children with and without LI. The findings suggest a strong association between sensitivity to grammatical violations and working memory capacity. Variations in working memory performance predicted grammatical sensitivity. Hungarian participants with LI exhibited a weakness in detecting both agreement and word order violations
HETEROGENOUS ISOTOPIC EXCHANGE AT THE INTERFACE OF STEEL SHEETS IN CONTACT WITH IRON CHLORIDE SOLUTIONS: II. EXPERIMENTS WITH IRON(III) CHLORIDE AND IRON(II) AMMONIUM SULFATE SOLUTIONS
INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF INDUSTRIAL DEGREASING METHODS BY RADIOISOTOPE TRACING TECHNIQUE. I
Synthesis of new potential UV-filters
Three new silylated 2-(2´-hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazole derivatives were prepared. Starting with the easily available simple 2-(2´-hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazole, the target compounds were synthesized by a stepwise synthetic protocol, namely alkylation, thermal rearrangement and silylation
A case report: Pavlovian conditioning as a risk factor of heroin 'overdose' death
BACKGROUND: The authors present a case illustrating a mechanism leading directly to death which is not rare but has received little attention. CASE PRESENTATION: The case was evaluated by autopsy, investigation of morphine concentration in the blood, and clinical data. The heroin dose causing the 'overdose' death of a young man who had previously been treated a number of times for heroin addiction did not differ from his dose of the previous day taken in the accustomed circumstances. The accustomed dose taken in a strange environment caused fatal complications because the conditioned tolerance failed to operate. The concentration of morphine in the blood did not exceed the level measured during earlier treatment. CONCLUSION: These results are in line with the data in the literature indicating that morphine concentrations measured in cases of drug-related death do not differ substantially from those measured in cases where the outcome is not fatal. A knowledge of the conditioning mechanism can contribute to prevention of fatal cases of a similar type. The harm reduction approach places great stress on preventive intervention based on data related to drug-related death
