    Desa Sidorejo mempunyai Kelompok Peternak kambing yang aktif dan produktif yaitu kelompok ternak “Krida Muda” yang berdiri sejak tahun 2016. Kelompok peternak inilah yang dijadikan Mitra PKM. Berbagai permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra akan ditawarkan solusinya dalam kegiatan PKM ini.  Kelangkaan pakan saat musim kemarau menjadi permasalahan umum yang dihadapi peternak mitra. Selain itu masih kurangnya wawasan teknologi kelompok mitra dalam memanfaatkan limbah hasil pertanian menjadi pakan ternak. Pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan dengan beberapa metode antara lain dengan ceramah/penyuluhan untuk materi yang bersifat teori,  peragaan untuk menyampaikan materi praktek dan pendampingan langsung saat demonstrasi atau praktek. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu peternak mitra PKM bertambah pengetahuan dan wawasannya tentang teknologi pembuatan complete feed, silase dan mampu mengolah limbah pertanian (limbah tanaman singkong dan limbah tanaman jagung) menjadi pakan yang berkualitas serta dapat disimpan untuk mengatasi kelangkaan pakan pada musim kemarau

    EFEK PENAMBAHAN UMBI BUNGA DAHLIA SEBAGAI SUMBER INULIN TERHADAP KECERNAAN PROTEIN DAN PRODUKTIVITAS AYAM LOKAL PERSILANGAN (Effect of Dahlia Tuber supplementation as Inulin Source on Protein Digestibility and Productivity of Crossbred Local Chicken)

     The research was aimed to evaluate feeding effect of powder and extract of dahlia tuber as a sources of inulin prebiotic on protein digestibility and productivity of crossbred local chicken. A total of 280 unsex local crossbred chicken with the age of 22 days and average weight of 180.46±1.21 g was assigned in a completely randomized design with 7 treatments and 4 replications (10 birds each). Dietary treatments consist of T0 (basal ration), T1 (T0 + 0.4% dahlia powder), T2 (T0 + 0.8% dahlia powder), T3 (T0 + 1.2% dahlia powder), T4 (T0 + 0.39% dahlia extract), T5 (T0 + 0.78% dahlia extract), T6 (T0 + 1.17% extract dahlia). Treatment was conducted for 8 consecutive weeks. Variables observed were protein digestibility, short chain fatty acid (SCFA), muscle protein mass, muscle calsium mass, and body weight. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by Duncan test at the level of 5%. The results showed that feeding inulin in the form of powder or extract of dahlia tuber significantly (P0.05) increased protein digestibility, SCFA level, and body weight. Treatments T2 until T6 significantly (P0.05) increased muscle calsium mass but did not increase muscle protein mass. In conclusion, the used of 1.2% dahlia powder and 1.17% extract dahlia tuber as an inulin source increase protein digestibility and productivity of crossbred local chicken.Key words: inulin, dahlia tuber, crossbred local chicke

    The Effect of Various Probiotics in Sangkuriang Cat Fish (Clarias gariepinus) on Health Status and Performans Production

    Probiotics are very important for cultivation because of their role in improving the health status of fish, increasing the body's resistance to disease, growth rate, improving intestinal morphology and balance of the microflora. The study aimed to compare commercial probiotics with probiotics from fermented milk using kefir seeds in an effort to improve health, growth rate and efficiency of sangkuriang catfish feed. The research material used 5-7cm long sangkuriang catfish as many as 400 tails. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications, namely P0:Control (feed without addition of probiotics), P1: Feed + 5% Probiotics A (King Grameh), P2: Feed + 5% Probiotics B (Em4), P3: Feed + 5% Probiotics C (Kefir). Each experimental unit consisted of 20 fish. The parameters observed in this experiment were growth rate, FCR and feed efficiency. Treatment with various types of probiotics has a significant effect (P <0.05) on FCR, feed efficiency, and growth rate. However, the FCR in treatments T1 and T2 did not show significant differences, and on feed efficiency and growth rate on T1 were not significantly different. The conclusion of this study is that the provision of kefir probiotics is able to show better production results

    Penggunaan Minyak Ikan dalam Ransum Ayam Kampung terhadap Profil Lemak Darah

    ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah mengevaluasi level penambahan minyak ikan lemuru dalam ransum ayam kampung terhadap profil lemak darah.Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalahayam kampung betina umur 24 minggu. Bahan pakan yang digunakan adalah minyak ikan lemuru, bekatul, jagung giling, bungkil kedelai, minyak sawit, tepung ikan, dan premix multi mineral dan vitamin. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL).  Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah T0 = Penggunaan minyak ikan lemuru sebanyak 0%, T1 = Penggunaan minyak ikan lemuru sebanyak 2%, T2 = Penggunaan minyak ikan lemuru sebanyak 4%, T3 = Penggunaan minyak ikan lemuru sebanyak 6%. Parameter yang diamati adalah kolesterol total, kadar High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) dan Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) darah ayam kampung. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi yang dilanjutkan uji duncan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dengan minyak ikan lemuru pada level tertinggi berpengaruhnyata (P<0,05) terhadap kolesterol total, kadar HDL dan LDL darah.Kesimpulan penelitian adalah pemberian minyak ikan lemuru sampai 6% dapat digunakan dalam campuran pakan ayam kampung.Kata kunci: Profil lemak darah, ayam lokal, minyak ikan lemuruABSTRACTThe aimed of the study was to evaluate the level of addition lemuru fish oil in the ration of local chicken on the blood fat profile. The research materials used was female local chickens aged 24 weeks. The feed materials used are lemuru fish oil, rice bran, milled corn, soybean meal, palm oil, fish meal as well as multimineral and vitamin premix. The research method using a complete by randomized design. The treatments are given wereT0= lemuru fish oil as much as 0%, T1 = lemuru fish oil as much as 2%, T2 = lemuru fish oil as much as 4%, T3 = lemuru fish oil as much as 6%. The observed variables were total cholesterol, levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) of local chicken blood. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance and was continued with Duncan test. The results showed that the treatment with lemuru fish oil at the highest level had a significant effect (P<0.05) on total cholesterol, HDL levels, and LDL blood. The conclusion of the study is that the provision of lemuru fish oil up to 6% can be used in native chicken feed mix.Keywords: The blood fat profile, local chicken, lemuru fish oi

    Analisis Daya Dukung Populasi Kambing Berdasarkan Potensi Aerial Tanaman Singkong di Kabupaten Lampung Tengah

    Sisa tanaman berupa batang, ranting, dan daun (aerial singkong) adalah limbah yang berpotensi dijadikan untuk bahan hijauan pakan ternak kambing. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa daya dukung aerial singkong sebagai pakan ternak kambing. Lokasi penelitian di Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Sampel diambil aerial yang dipotong 40 cm di atas tanah. Populasi kambing di 28 Kecamatan sebanyak 277.420 ekor atau 20.385 animal unit (AU). Analisis location quotient (LQ) diperoleh 46,4 % kecamatan merupakan basis dari ternak kambing. Produksi bahan kering (BK) aerial tanaman singkong yaitu 242.247 ton/tahun, kebutuhan konsumsi BK 71.427 ton/tahun. Daya dukung ternak dengan memanfaatkan sisa tanaman singkong sebesar 69.134 AU, sehingga kapasitas peningkatan ternak untuk Kabupaten Lampung Tengah adalah 48.750 AU. Sebanyak 36 % kecamatan yang ada di Lampung Tengah memiliki kebutuhan pakan melebihi daya dukungnya jika hanya memanfaatkan sisa tanaman singkong saja

    Efek Penambahan Kefir Sebagai Probiotik pada Ayam Boiler terhadap Panjang Usus

    This study was to examine the effect of changes in digestive tract that is seen from the length of the small intestine size of broiler chickens given kefir. The study used 200 MB of broiler DOC as many as 200 animals which were kept randomly in a cage plot. The study was conducted for 5 weeks with 4 treatments and repeated 5 times so that the number of experimental units was 20 units. The treatments to be tested were: T0 = basal ration (control), T1 = basal ration + 1.5% probiotic, T2 = basal ration + 3% probiotic, T3 = basal ration + 4.5%. Kefir used was derived from goat milk which was given 10% kefir grain fermented for 48 hours. The data obtained were analyzed for variance based on a completely randomized design and continued using duncan test. The results showed that the final body weight was significantly different (P &lt;0.05), while the feed efficiency, relative length of duodenum, jejunum, ileum, overall small intestine and cecum had no significant effect (P&gt; 0.05). The conclusion that the administration of probiotics in the form of kefir has no significant effect on the relative length of the small intestine and cecum, but has a significant effect on final body weight. The use of kefir needs to be considered in terms of cost because it uses milk as a fermentation media.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh perubahan saluran pencernaan yakni dilihat dari panjang ukuran usus halus ayam broiler yang diberi kefir. Penelitian menggunakan DOC broiler MB 202 sebanyak 200 ekor yang dipelihara secara acak pada petak kandang. Penelitian dilakukan selama 5 minggu dengan 4 perlakuan dan diulang sebanyak 5 kali sehingga jumlah unit percobaan sebanyak 20 unit. Perlakuan yang akan diuji adalah: T0= ransum basal (kontrol), T1= ransum basal+ probiotik 1,5%, T2= ransum basal+ probiotik 3%, T3= ransum basal+ 4,5%. Kefir yang digunakan berasal dari susu kambing yang diberi grain kefir sebanyak 10% difermentasi selama 48 jam. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa sidik ragam berdasarkan rancangan acak lengkap dan dilanjutkan menggunakan uji duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot badan akhir menunjukkan berbeda nyata (P&lt;0,05), sedangkan efisiensi pakan, panjang relatif duodenum, jejunum, ileum, usus halus keseluruhan dan sekum tidak berpengaruh nyata (P&gt;0,05). Kesimpulan bahwa pemberian probiotik berupa kefir tidak berpengaruh nyata pada panjang relative usus halus dan sekum, namun berpengaruh nyata pada bobot badan akhir. Penggunaan kefir perlu dipertimbangkan dari sisi biaya karena menggunakan susu sebagai media fermentasi

    Kefir is a fermented milk product made by inoculating milk with kefir grains, a combination of bacteria and yeast. These microorganisms will play a role in the fermentation of lactic acid and alcohol, which can provide a therapeutic effect. The presence of probiotics in feed can increase enzymatic and digestive activity. As a natural probiotic, Kefir contains various strains of bacteria and yeast that can be used as a substitute for antibiotics that are limited in their use nowadays. The effectiveness of kefir as a probiotic was studied on the production, feed efficiency, and relative weight of the digestive tract in broiler chickens. This study used DOC broiler strain MB 202 with as many as 200 unsexing using a completely random design with four treatments and five replicates for five weeks. Treatment consisted of T0 = basal ration (control), T1 = basal ration + 1.5% probiotic kefir, T2 = basal ration + 3% probiotic kefir, T3 = basal ration+ 4.5% probiotic kefir. The kefir used comes from goat's milk which was given as much as 10% grain kefir fermented for 48 hours. The ANOVA resulted from a real difference (P&lt;0.05) in performance for each treatment compared to the control. At the same time, the intestinal weight parameters of the digestive tract did not show a real difference (P&gt;0.05). The addition of 4.5% probiotic kefir showed the best results on four performance parameters, including consumption, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio, which is also supported by the highest carcass yield compared to other treatments.Kefir merupakan produk fermentasi susu yang dibuat dengan cara menginokulasikan susu dengan bulir kefir yang merupakan kombinasi bakteri dan ragi. Mikroorganisme tersebut akan berperan dalam mefermentasikan asam laktat dan alkohol yang dapat memberikan pengaruh terapeutik. Keberadaan probiotik dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas enzimatis dan meningkatkan aktivitas pencernaan. Pemanfaatan kefir sebagai probiotik alami mengandung beragam strain bakteri dan ragi menguntukan dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti antibiotik yang terbatas peggunaannya. Kajian efektivitas kefir sebagai probiotik dilakukan terhadap produksi, efisiensi pakan serta bobot relatif saluran pencernaan pada ayam broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan DOC broiler strain MB 202 sebanyak 200 ekor unsexing menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan selama lima minggu. Perlakuan yang diujikan terdiri atas T0= ransum basal (kontrol), T1= ransum basal+ 1.5% probiotik kefir, T2= ransum basal+ 3% probiotik kefir, T3= ransum basal+ 4.5% probiotik kefir. Kefir yang digunakan berasal dari susu kambing yang diberi grain kefir sebanyak 10% difermentasi selama 48 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya perbedaan nyata (P&lt;0.05) pada setiap perlakuan terhadap kontrol pada parameter performa, sedangkan pada parameter bobot saluran pencernaan tidak menunjukan adanya perbedaan nyata (P&gt;0.05). Penambahan sebanyak 4.5% probiotik kefir menunjukan hasil yang paling baik terhadap empat subparameter performa yang meliputi konsumsi, PBB, FCR yang juga didukung dengan hasil karkas yang tertinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lain

    ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecamatan basis komoditas kambing supaya pemerintah dapat mengembangkan secara maksimal sektor pertanian, khususnya komoditas kambing di Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Data pemotongan dan populasi ternak sepanjang tahun 2016-2020 diperoleh dari instansi terkait yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan Location Quotient (LQ) yang digunakan untuk mengetahui kecamatan basis di Kabupaten Lampung Timur, analisis Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) digunakan untuk menentukan kecamatan basis berdasarkan pertumbuhan komoditas kambing di Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Kecamatan unggulan komoditas kambing ditentukan berdasarkan nilai LQ dan DLQ >1 yang memberi kontribusi besar terhadap daerah karena memungkinkan ekspor serta potensi pengembangan komoditas berkembang dengan cepat. Hasil analisis kecamatan unggulan komoditas kambing yakni Kecamatan Marga Tiga, Sekampung Udik, Jabung, Labuhan Maringgai, Mataram Baru, Way Jepara, dan Sukadana. Setelah didapat kecamatan unggulan diharapkan dapat membantu fokus pengembangan komoditas kambing agar tepat sasaran pada kecamatan yang berpotensi berkembang dengan baik.Kata Kunci: DLQ, kambing, komoditas basis, LQ.Determining the Location of Goat Commodity Base Using LQ and DLQ Analysis in East Lampung RegencyABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the sub-district of the goat commodity base so that the government can optimally develop the agricultural sector, especially the goat commodity in East Lampung Regency. Slaughter and livestock population data during 2016-2020 were obtained from relevant agencies which were then analyzed using Location Quotient (LQ) which was used to determine the base sub-district in East Lampung Regency, Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) analysis was used to determine the base sub-district based on the growth of the goat commodity in East Lampung Regency. The superior sub-districts for goat commodities are determined based on the LQ and DLQ values >1 which make a major contribution to the region because it allows exports and the potential for developing commodities to develop quickly. The results of the analysis of the leading sub-districts for goat commodities are Marga Tiga District, Sekampung Udik, Jabung, Labuhan Maringgai, Mataram Baru, Way Jepara, and Sukadana. After obtaining the superior sub-districts, it is hoped that it can help focus the development of goat commodities so that it is right on target in sub-districts that have the potential to develop well.Keywords: DLQ, goat, base commodity, L

    The potential of cassava-goat integration in aerial and fertilizer production in Lampung

    This study aimed to evaluate the integration potential of cassava plants with goats in aerial production and goat manure-derived fertilizers. This research was conducted by purposive sampling with the consideration that Lampung Province is the central region of cassava production in Indonesia and is the region with the highest population of goats outside Java Island. Sampling was carried out in Central Lampung and East Lampung with high-production cassava and goats. Analysis using LQ, FPCI, carrying capacity, and fertilizer production from goat manure. The data obtained was then presented descriptively. The results showed that FPCI was located in Central Lampung, East Lampung, North Lampung, Tulang Bawang, and Tulang Bawang West. The highest aerial carrying capacity of cassava, 31.6%, was concentrated in Central Lampung, thereby affecting the livestock carrying capacity. LQ analysis obtained showed that around 66.7% of the area in Lampung was a goat livestock base. The highest production of fertilizer from goat manure was obtained by South Lampung, which covers around 24.5% of the total area of Lampung. The conclusion from this study was that areas that have potential for development supported by the provision of feed sourced from aerial sources from cassava plant waste if integrating cassava plants and goat livestock were East Lampung, Central Lampung, North Lampung, Tulang Bawang, and Tulang Bawang Barat districts
