    The Homeo Domain of a Murine Protein Binds 5\u27 to its Own Homeo Box.

    Nuclear protein extracts from day 12.5 mouse embryos were used to study protein binding to DNA sequences 5\u27 of the Hox 1.5 homeo box. Embryos of this developmental stage are known to express this gene. DNA binding protein blotting and retardation gel techniques show that murine embryonic nuclear proteins specifically bind a 753-base pair (bp) DNA fragment from the region upstream of the Hox 1.5 homeo box. A fusion protein containing the Hox 1.5 homeo domain constructed in lambda gt11 also binds the same 753-bp DNA fragment. Specific binding of the fusion protein to the upstream DNA fragment shows that the homeo box contains the sequences required for specific protein-DNA interactions, and the 753-bp fragment contains a homeo domain binding site. These results support the hypothesis that murine homeo boxes are DNA binding domains of proteins involved in the regulation of embryonic development

    Convergencias y divergencias de sentido en los talleres de Educación Sexual Integral de la formación docente

    Following national curriculum parameters, since 2011 “Sexual Education Workshops” have been included in general teachers training for preprimary and primary education in Buenos Aires City. As the field is basically multidisplinary, there has been a wide variety in academic profiles of teachers in charge of those areas. This includes convergent and divergent perspectives, topics and pedagogical approaches. There are tensions among “normative approaches” on gender and sexualities, that, even from a democratizing purpose, lead to a “right/wrong” scheme, “didacticizing approaches” leading to analyze curriculum topics and “critical approaches” that emphasize the incorporation of the hegemonic social and cultural gender issues.This dynamics are understood as a characteristic of a new and in-building field. This article is a product of an on going participatory action research, from a Gender and Cultural Studies approach, aiming to explore the gendered meanings under curriculum that shape experience in teachers training institutions.En continuidad con los lineamientos nacionales, desde el 2011 se incluye en los Profesorados de Enseñanza Inicial y Primaria de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires el “Taller de Educación Sexual Integral” en el campo de formación general. El carácter multidisciplinario del campo ha generado una incorporación diversa de perfiles docentes en esos talleres, incluyendo en consecuencia miradas, tematizaciones y modalidades pedagógicas diversas que coexisten, de maneras convergentes y de maneras divergentes. Las tensiones se producen entre miradas que tienden a proponer un sentido normativo de los géneros y las sexualidades (aún desde una perspectiva democratizadora), miradas que tienden a construir respuestas pedagógico-didácticas para hacerse cargos de la ESI establecida en la ley, y miradas más centradas en el análisis contextual crítico de las relaciones sexo-genéricas hegemónicas. Esta dinámica de convergencias y divergencias se interpreta como propia de un campo novedoso en construcción. El artículo que presentamos forma parte de una investigación acción participativa en curso, enmarcada en los Estudios Culturales y de Género, orientada a desvelar las significaciones sexo genéricas en las que el currículum enmarca las experiencias educativas en el nivel superior de formación docente
