У статті аналізуються питання, які все ще залишаються в історіографії Західноукраїнської Народної Республіки. Автор звертає увагу на контроверсійні точки зору щодо революційних подій, які відбулися 1 листопада 1918 р. у Львові, стосовно часу існування ЗУНР, Акту злуки УНР та ЗУНР, причин поразки Української Галицької армії тощо.The author of the article analyses the questions that are still disputable in modern

concerning the reasons of the defeat of Ukrainian army, etc
Numerical convergence of the block-maxima approach to the Generalized Extreme Value distribution
In this paper we perform an analytical and numerical study of Extreme Value
distributions in discrete dynamical systems. In this setting, recent works have
shown how to get a statistics of extremes in agreement with the classical
Extreme Value Theory. We pursue these investigations by giving analytical
expressions of Extreme Value distribution parameters for maps that have an
absolutely continuous invariant measure. We compare these analytical results
with numerical experiments in which we study the convergence to limiting
distributions using the so called block-maxima approach, pointing out in which
cases we obtain robust estimation of parameters. In regular maps for which
mixing properties do not hold, we show that the fitting procedure to the
classical Extreme Value Distribution fails, as expected. However, we obtain an
empirical distribution that can be explained starting from a different
observable function for which Nicolis et al. [2006] have found analytical

Canary in the coalmine: Norwegian attitudes towards climate change and extreme long-haul air travel to Aotearoa/New Zealand
Accelerating global climate change poses considerable challenges to all societies and
economies. The European Union now targets a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2020. Indeed, the
Labour-led Norwegian government is committed to carbon neutrality across all sectors of the economy
by 2030. Aviation has been identified as a rapidly growing contributor to CO2 emissions. This article
reports on a research project that explored Norwegian attitudes towards climate change, particularly
as they relate to extreme long-haul air travel to Aotearoa/New Zealand. It reveals that the 'dream trip'
to New Zealand for Norwegians is still largely intact. It also finds evidence of 'air travel with a carbon
conscience' arising from growing concern for high frequency discretionary air travel. Evidence of
denial of the climate impact of air travel that recent studies have revealed was largely absent.
Interviewees expressed a greater concern for short-haul air travel emissions than for the climate
impact of long-haul travel. However, intentions to adapt long-haul travel behaviours were expressed,
highlighting the need to monitor consumer attitudes towards the impact of air travel on climate
change. We conclude that Norway is a vanguard European tourism market in terms of climate
sensitivity
Supersymmetric Regularization, Two-Loop QCD Amplitudes and Coupling Shifts
We present a definition of the four-dimensional helicity (FDH) regularization
scheme valid for two or more loops. This scheme was previously defined and
utilized at one loop. It amounts to a variation on the standard 't
Hooft-Veltman scheme and is designed to be compatible with the use of helicity
states for "observed" particles. It is similar to dimensional reduction in that
it maintains an equal number of bosonic and fermionic states, as required for
preserving supersymmetry. Supersymmetry Ward identities relate different
helicity amplitudes in supersymmetric theories. As a check that the FDH scheme
preserves supersymmetry, at least through two loops, we explicitly verify a
number of these identities for gluon-gluon scattering (gg to gg) in
supersymmetric QCD. These results also cross-check recent non-trivial two-loop
calculations in ordinary QCD. Finally, we compute the two-loop shift between
the FDH coupling and the standard MS-bar coupling, alpha_s. The FDH shift is
identical to the one for dimensional reduction. The two-loop coupling shifts
are then used to obtain the three-loop QCD beta function in the FDH and

Gravitational Wave Emission from Galactic Radio Pulsars
We consider in this work continuous gravitational wave (GW) emission from
non-axisymmetric radio pulsars. We treat in some detail the observational
issues related to the known radio pulsar sample with the aim of unveiling the
actual number of sources contributing to GW, which are likely to be the main
contributors of GWs. It is shown that the operation of spheroidal GW detectors
and full-size interferometers could detect this component of the radiation or
