Being a man from the self-care: some reflections

Objetivo. Analizar si se puede ejercer violencia contra sí mismo. Metodología. El artículo realiza una revisión bibliográfica  a partir del diálogo con diversas categorías que se usan al tratar de interpretar los procesos de salud y enfermedad de diferentes grupos de hombres y de asumir una lectura filosófica con base en la estadística disponible. Resultados y conclusiones. El reflexionar sobre ser hombre desde la categoría del “cuidado de sí” puede potenciar una toma de distancia del sí mismo; aunque a la par una reubicación de su acompañamiento de los demás. Se han identificado trayectorias que llevan a la muerte, relacionadas con los procesos de socialización de los sujetos del sexo masculino. Se invita a reflexionar a partir de problematizar certezas en los aprendizajes de género y de paso a los supuestos epistemológicos y gnoseológicos de las categorías usadas para estudiar el significado del derecho a la salud, el autocuidado y el cuidado de sí.Objective. To analyze if violence can be used against oneself. Methodology. The article presents a literature review from the dialogue with different categories that are used to try to interpret the processes of health and disease of different groups of men and assume a philosophical reading based on available statistics. Results and conclusions. Reflecting on being a man from the category of “self-care” can enhance putting distance in between with himself although at the same time relocating his accompaniment with others. Paths leading to death have been identified which are related to the processes of socialization of male individuals. The invitation is to reflect from making certainties problematic in the gender learning and at the same time to reflect on the epistemological and gnoseologic assumptions of the categories used to study the meaning of the right to health, and self-care

Nucleation of superfluid-light domains in a quenched dynamics

Strong correlation effects emerge from light-matter interactions in coupled resonator arrays, such as the Mott-insulator to superfluid phase transition of atom-photon excitations. We demonstrate that the quenched dynamics of a finite-sized complex array of coupled resonators induces a first-order like phase transition. The latter is accompanied by domain nucleation that can be used to manipulate the photonic transport properties of the emerging superfluid phase; this in turn leads to an empirical scaling law. This universal behavior emerges from the light-matter interaction and the topology of the array. The validity of our results over a wide range of complex architectures might lead to to a promising device for use in scaled quantum simulations.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures and supplemental material. Análisis bidimensional de la estabilidad de vehículos pesados tipo carro-tanque

En el presente trabajo se realiza el análisis de la estabilidad de vehículos pesados tipo carro-tanque. Para dicho propósito se utiliza el factor denominado umbral de vuelco estático (Static Rollover Threshold, por las siglas del inglés SRT), el cual permite evaluar la máxima fuerza inercial aplicada lateralmente que puede soportar el vehículo antes de iniciar el proceso de vuelco. Adicionalmente, este factor permite determinar la máxima velocidad que el vehículo puede desarrollar al recorrer una curva, dando de esta manera mayor seguridad para los usuarios de la vía. Teniendo en cuenta estos aspectos, se estudia la estabilidad de un carro-tanque de sección transversal circular, ya que para vehículos que transportan líquidos la estabilidad es más crítica, debido a que se debe tener en cuenta el movimiento del fluido transportado cuando es sometido a una aceleración lateral, lo cual puede disminuir el factor de estabilidad. Por consiguiente, para determinar el factor de estabilidad se realiza un análisis detallado del movimiento del fluido como función de la aceleración y el llenado del tanque y se utiliza el método de Davies para el análisis cuasi-estático de la estabilidad del vehículo.The present work makes the stability analysis of the heavy tank-truck vehicles. For this purpose, the so-called Static Rollover Threshold (SRT) is used, which allows evaluating the maximum laterally inertial force applied that the vehicle can support before starting the rollover process. Additionally, this factor allows determining the maximum speed that the vehicle can develop when making a curve, thus providing greater safety for road users. Taking into account these aspects, the stability of tank vehicles with circular cross-section is studied, since for vehicles that transport liquids the stability is more critical, because it must take into account the movement of the transported fluid when it is submitted to a lateral acceleration, which can decrease the stability factor. Therefore, to determine the stability factor, a detailed analysis of the movement of the fluid as a function of the acceleration and filling of the tank is performed and the Davies method is used for the quasi-static analysis of the stability of the vehicle

Acute corneal edema without epithelium compromise. A case report and literature review

Acute corneal edema is caused by various factors, with different levels of severity, and various forms of presentation. This paper reports the case of a male patient presenting with acute corneal edema without epithelium compromise, whose clinical picture, ophthalmological examination and additional tests did not reveal its etiology. Also, a review of available literature was conducted looking for all known causes of acute corneal edema, which are classified according to the etiology of the corneal edema into injury or inflammation of the corneal epithelium or stroma, endothelial dysfunction or increase in intraocular pressure.El edema de córnea es una entidad que se produce por un gran número de causas y tiene diversas formas de presentación y diferentes grados de afección. En este artículo se reporta el caso de un hombre con edema de córnea agudo sin compromiso epitelial, en el que el cuadro clínico, el examen oftalmológico y los estudios de extensión no lograron establecer su etiología. Además, se hace una revisión de la literatura disponible respecto a todas las posibles causas de edema de córnea agudo, agrupándolas en aquellas que ocasionan el edema por lesión o inflamación epitelial o estromal, por disfunción endotelial o por un aumento en la presión intraocular

Plan estratégico del subsector infraestructura vial en el Perú 2016-2020

El Sub Sector Infraestructura Vial en el Perú se encuentra marcada con una gran brecha lo que resta competitividad al país generando incluso malestar en la calidad de vida de sus pobladores y retrayendo el desarrollo del sector empresarial. En el siguiente plan estratégico se ha proyectado como objetivo una visión para el año 2025, la misma que consiste en cerrar la brecha en el sector vial que en la actualidad marca la cifra de US$57,499 millones. Esto permitirá que el país cambie de rumbo competitivo y se vuelva un referente en la región mostrando una alta capacidad de ejecución de sus diferentes proyectos viales, además de facilitar el libre acceso a diferentes zonas con carreteras acorde a los estándares internaciones que permitirán el intercambio comercial de las diferentes regiones, generando alianzas estratégicas para la formación de corredores económicos en aras del desarrollo económico, social y competitivo de la nación. La promoción de obras por impuesto, Alianzas Publico Privados, la reformación del SNIP son algunas de las claves que permitirá el mejoramiento del Sub Sector, generando mayores facilidades de ejecución de los diversos paquetes de proyectos que están ya formulados y presupuestados. Los organismos participantes en el desarrollo del Sub Sector deben de estar enmarcadas de solidos valores lo que permita la disminución de diferentes actos corruptivos que se han vivenciado en los últimos años lo que retrasa el avance competitivo del país. Se concluye que la reforma de diversos organismos y la mayor inversión en el desarrollo del Sub Sector Infraestructura Vial permitirán ir cerrando la brecha que separa al país de ser un referente competitivo en la región y en el mundo, lo que permitirá ver al Perú como un país donde se pueda desarrollar cualquier actividad económica generando el desarrollo del paísThe Sub-Sector Road Infrastructure in Peru is marked by a large gap that cut down on the country's competitiveness even causing discomfort in the quality of life of its residents and retracting the development of the business sector. In the next strategic plan, a vision for the year 2025 has been projected, which is to close the gap in the road sector that currently marks the figure of US$ 57.499 million. This will allow the country to change its competitive course and become a benchmark in the region by showing a high capacity of execution of its different road projects, as well as facilitating free access to different areas with highways according to international standards that will allow commercial exchange among the different regions, generating strategic alliances for the formation of economic corridors on the way to economic, social, and competitive development of the nation. The promotion of works by tax, Public Private Partnerships, the reform of the SNIP are some of the keys that will allow the improvement of the Sub Sector, generating greater facilities of execution of the diverse project lists that are already formulated and budgeted. The organisms participating in the development of the Sub-Sector must be represented by solid values that allow the reduction of different corruptive acts that have been experienced in recent years, which delays the country's competitive advance. Given these points we conclude that the reform of various agencies and greater investment in the development of the Sub-Sector Road Infrastructure will allow closing the gap that separates the country from being a competitive benchmark in the region and in the world, which will allow Peru to be seen as a Country where any economic activity can be developed generating the development of the countryTesi

Mental health data available in representative surveys conducted in Latin America and the Caribbean countries: a scoping review

Background: Mental health data from Latin America and the Caribbean countries (LACC) national and international surveys are essential for public health surveillance. This review aimed to identify and describe available mental health survey data in LACC, providing access details for researchers. // Methods: Our study was a scoping review. The search for available mental health survey data was conducted in PubMed and through grey literature searches, and the search dates were between 26 August 2021 and 15 October 2021. Included survey data were/had (1) nationally representative, (2) the latest version available from 2012 onward, (3) collected in at least one LACC and (4) at least one mental health variable or related factor. We accepted all written languages, including Spanish and English. // Results: A total of 56 national and 13 international surveys were included, with data available on 95 mental health variables classified into 10 categories. Most national surveys were performed in upper-middle-income countries. Variables categorised as ‘Substance use’ and ‘Violence’ were the most frequent. Mexico and Colombia had the highest production in both the national and international surveys. The main target population was the adult population. However, there are several mental health topics and LACC yet unsurveyed. // Conclusion: We identified a total of 69 representative surveys from LACCs since 2012. We categorised the available data on mental health variables into 10 categories, and provided technical details to facilitate the future selection and use of these surveys
