    A new method for the inversion of atmospheric parameters of A/Am stars

    We present an automated procedure that derives simultaneously the effective temperature TeffT_{eff}, the surface gravity logg, the metallicity [Fe/H], and the equatorial projected rotational velocity vsini for "normal" A and Am stars. The procedure is based on the principal component analysis inversion method of Paletou et al. (2015a). A sample of 322 high resolution spectra of F0-B9 stars, retrieved from the Polarbase, SOPHIE, and ELODIE databases, were used to test this technique with real data. We have selected the spectral region from 4400-5000\AA\ as it contains many metallic lines and the Balmer Hβ\beta line. Using 3 datasets at resolving powers of R=42000, 65000 and 76000, about 6.6x10610^6 synthetic spectra were calculated to build a large learning database. The Online Power Iteration algorithm was applied to these learning datasets to estimate the principal components (PC). The projection of spectra onto the few PCs offered an efficient comparison metric in a low dimensional space. The spectra of the well known A0- and A1-type stars, Vega and Sirius A, were used as control spectra in the three databases. Spectra of other well known A-type stars were also employed in order to characterize the accuracy of the inversion technique. All observational spectra were inverted and atmospheric parameters derived. After removal of a few outliers, the PCA-inversion method appears to be very efficient in determining TeffT_{eff}, [Fe/H], and vsini for A/Am stars. The derived parameters agree very well with previous determinations. Using a statistical approach, deviations of around 150 K, 0.35 dex, 0.15 dex, and 2 km/s were found for TeffT_{eff}, logg, [Fe/H], and vsini with respect to literature values for A-type stars. The PCA-inversion proves to be a very fast, practical, and reliable tool for estimating stellar parameters of FGK and A stars, and deriving effective temperatures of M stars.Comment: 16 pages, 9 figures.     Model Pengelolaan Sumber Daya Ikan Berbasis Karakteristik Potensi Perairan Aceh Barat (Study Kasus: Hasil Tangkapan Per Unit Upaya (CPUE) di Perairan Meulaboh)

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) menentukan jenis ikan unggulan; 2) menghitung potensi ikan unggulan dan 3) menyusun model pengelolaan sumberdaya Ikan Berbasis Karakteristik Potensi Perairan Aceh Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menentukan jenis komoditi ikan unggulan dilakukan dengan metode skoring dan kajian stok sumberdaya ikan dengan menggunakan model produksi surplus adalah untuk menentukan tingkat upaya optimum, serta pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan berbasis potensi perairan Kabupaten Aceh Barat menggunakan metode Interpretative structural modeling (ISM). Berdasarkan hasil analisis CPUE (cact per unit effort) ikan di Kabupaten Aceh Barat menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara Effort dan CPUE diperlihatkan pada persamaan linier Y = 20,65-0,243x. Intercept persamaan adalah 20,65 sedangkan slope -0,243. Ini berarti bahwa jika X=0 atau dengan kata lain tidak ada penambahan upaya maka CPUE akan bertahan pada angka 20,65 ton/effort standar. Kemiringan persamaan regresi adalah sebesar -0,243 artinya jika effort terus ditambah tanpa memperhatikan MSY maka akan terjadi penurunan CPUE sebesar 0,243 ton/ effort standar ikan. Oleh sebab itu semua pihak yang terkait dengan pengelolaan perikanan berbasis karakteristik wilayah perlu memperhatikan sumberdaya ikan dengan efisien sehingga akan tetap terjaga keberlanjutan sumberdaya.The aims of this research are 1) to determine the fish featured; 2) to calculate the fish featured and 3) to develop the fisheries resources management model based on the potential characteristic of West Aceh waters. The method used in this study for determining the commodity of fish featured carried out with the scoring method and the fish stock assessment by using a surplus production model for determining the optimum level of effort, as well as the fish resources management based on potential of West Aceh waters using Interpretative structural modeling (ISM). Based on the CPUE analysis (Catch Per Unit Effort) in West Aceh shows that the relationship between Effort and CPUE shown in the linear equation Y = 20,65-0,243x. Intercept equation is 20.65 while the slope -0.243. This means that if X = 0, or in other words no additional effort will then CPUE stands at 20.65 ton/standard effort. The slope of the regression equation is -0.243 means that if the effort continues without regard to MSY then there will be a decline in CPUE on 0,243 ton/effort fish standard. Therefore, all stakeholders that related to the fisheries management based on the characteristics of a region needs to pay attention to the fish resources efficiently so that the resources will remain sustainable

    Aktivitas Anti Rayap Minyak Atsiri Dari Kulit Jeruk Citrus Nobilis Var.microcarpa Terhadap Rayap Tanah Coptotermes Curvignathus Holmgren

    Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren is an urban pest which builds carton nests in dark places. This termite is difficult to control due to difficulties of direct spraying to entire colony. The new methods for control subterranean termites such as used the essentials oil is a prospective study. This study aims to determine the bioactivity of essential oil of orange peel Citrus nobilis var .microcarpa and to determine the optimal level of inhibiting termites C. curvignathus. Essential oil made from peel of C. nobilis orange which macerated with methanol for 24 hours. Essential oil obtained was dissolved on filter paper at a dose of 0.1 ml; 0.2 ml; 0.3 ml; and 0.4 ml. Then this filter paper used to biossay to determine the effectiveness of essential oil to inhibited subterranean termites C. curvignathus. This process was conducted in three days. The results showed that the highest activity which caused 100% mortality of termite was obtained at dose 0.4 ml. The greater dose of essential oils of orange peel resulted in the highest mortality of termites and vice versa resulted the lowest percentage of paper weight loss. The optimal dose in the use of essential oils of orange peel of C. nobilis to inhibited the termites C. curvignathus was 0.2 ml.     Analisis Pembentukan Portofolio Optimal Saham Perusahaan Indeks Sri Kehati-bei Menggunakan Model Indeks Tunggal (2013-2015)

    This research aims to know: 1) the company's stock in the Sri Kehati Index that form the optimal portfolio using Single Index Model; 2) the right proportion of funds for each stock which form an optimal portfolio; 3) the amount of expected return and risk are resulting from the optimal portfolio formation. The kind of research used in this research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population used in this research are all of company's stock in the Sri Kehati Index period 2013-2015. The stock sampled in this research are 19 stocks. The results of this research showed that of the 19 stocks were sampled, there are only four stocks which form an optimal portfolio. The stocks which form an optimal portfolio are UNVR (64,48%), PJAA (21,85%), BBRI (11,77%) and BBCA (1,90%). The optimal portfolio formation resulting 2,4758% of expected return at 0,0885% level of risk

    Bioaktivitas Ekstrak Daun Jeruk Purut (Citrus Hystrix Dc) terhadap Rayap Tanah (Coptotermes Curvignathus Holmgren)

    Kaffir lime leaves (Citrus hystrix DC) has the potential to be used as a natural preservative especially an anti-termites. The study aims to evaluation the toxicity of extract of leaves C. hystrix against subterranean termites Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren and to determine the optimal concentration of extract lime leaves on subterranean termite activity. Lime leaves were extracted using maceration method with methanol. Level of concentration were 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10%. Filter paper soaked at each concentration thengive as a food source to subterranean termites. Bioassay tests were carried out for 21 days. Then mortality and filter paper weight loss was measured. The results showed the concentration level of 10% has the highest termite mortality with average value of 100% and has the lowest value of filter paper weight loss with a average value 13.48%. However, the optimal concentration was achieved at 8% due to the mortality rate reached 94% and the level of termite activity was classified as very strong.     احد أكثر التحديات التي تواجه التعلم الآلي هو التعرف على الكتابة بخط اليد ، وخاصة النصوص العربية ، لأن  هناك العديد من أساليب الكتابة للخط العربي. في هذه الورقة ، يُقترح نموذج تحقيق لتمييز النصوص العربية المكتوبة بخط اليد باستخدام الشبكة العصبية التلافيفية (CNN)، مع طبقات متعددة من التطبيع والتنظيم لتقليل وقت التدريب وزيادة الدقة الإجمالية ، تم الوصول الى  دقة تحقق 98 ٪ لمجموعة بيانات Kaggle للغة العربية حيث استخدمت أحرف وأرقام مكتوبة بخط اليد باستخدام Python.One of the most challenges that face machine learning is handwritten recognition, especially Arabic scripts, because many styles found for Arabic font.     النظام المقترح مفيد للغاية للمكفوفين، حيث يعطي النظام فكرة عن الحاضرين في محيط المكفوفين، لذا فإن النظام المساعدالمقترح يعتمد على الرازبيري pi3 لإبلاغ المكفوفين عن عدد الأشخاص الموجودين حولهم. يركز هذا العمل على اكتشاف مميزات الوجه بناءً على خوارزمية Haar المتتالية وOpenCV باستخدام لغة البرمجة بايثون. تم الحصول على نتائج مرضية جدا عند التعامل مع حالات مختلفة بدقة عالية ووقت معالجة قصير، وبالتالي تقلل OpenCV من تأخير الحصول على النتائج، وتزيد خوارزمية سلسلة Haar من الدقة.The proposed system is very helpful for blind people, in term of taking an idea about the attendance person/s in their environment simultaneously, so an assistive system based on raspberry pi3 is developed to inform the blind how many persons are around. This work focuses on face detection based on Haar cascade algorithm and OpenCV using python. Satisfied results with different cases are obtained with high accuracy and short processing time, hence OpenCV reduce the delay for getting output, and Haar cascade algorithm increases the accuracy, the system is portable and very light to carry

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kumpulan puisi yang diciptakan mahasiswa semester V Program Studi Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Mendeskripsikan sebuah tanda dan makna tersirat di dalam puisi membutuhkan pendekatan, yaitu semiotik. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan bentuk makna semiotika berdasarkan penanda dan petanda pada kumpulan puisi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan semiotika yang didasarkan pada model Ferdinand De Saussure. Pendekatan ini menggunakan penanda dan petanda sebagai acuannya. Penelitian ini menghasilkan data kualitatif deskriptif. Data yang digunakan berbentuk kata, frasa dan kalimat yang terdapat di dalam puisi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini, yaitu sumber data primer dan sekunder. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik simak dan teknik catat. Selanjutnya, data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan pembacaan heuristik dan hermenutik  Berdasarkan pendekatan semiotika model Ferdinand De Saussure. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semiotika yang digunakan dalam pengkajian kumpulan puisi Karya Mahasiswa Semester V Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Angkatan Tahun 2014 terdapat penanda dan petandanya.
