Verticillium-Welke an Brassica-Arten, gefĂŒhrt.
hinsichtlich ihrer Resistenzeigenschaften getestet. So sollten
Real- time PCR-

Constant terms in threshold resummation and the quark form factor
We verify to order alpha_s^4 two previously conjectured relations, valid in
four dimensions, between constant terms in threshold resummation (for Deep
Inelastic Scattering and the Drell-Yan process) and the second logarithmic
derivative of the massless quark form factor. The same relations are checked to
all orders in the large beta_0 limit; as a byproduct a dispersive
representation of the form factor is obtained. These relations allow to compute
in a symmetrical way the three-loop resummation coefficients B_3 and D_3 in
terms of the three-loop contributions to the virtual diagonal splitting
function and to the quark form factor, confirming results obtained in the
literature.Comment: 39 pages, no figure; version 2: same content, but improved
presentation, with a new section devoted to the variety of resummation
procedures; version 3: journal version, where a remark about the all orders
validity of the conjecture in the DIS case is reporte
Comparison of Phase Space Slicing and Dipole Subtraction Methods for gamma^* -> Q Qbar
We compare the phase space slicing and dipole subtraction methods in the
computation of the inclusive and differential next-to-leading order cross
sections for heavy quark production in the simple process gamma^* -> Q Qbar.
For the phase space slicing method we study the effects of improvement terms
that remove restrictions on the slicing parameter s_min. For the dipole method
our comparison is a first check on some of its counterterms involving massive
quarks, derived recently. In our comparison we address issues such as numerical
accuracy and efficiency.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures, 2 tables, additional references and comments

A new prescription for soft gluon resummation
We present a new prescription for the resummation of the divergent series of
perturbative corrections, due to soft gluon emission, to hard processes near
threshold in perturbative QCD (threshold resummation). This prescription is
based on Borel resummation, and contrary to the commonly used minimal
prescription, it does not introduce a dependence of resummed physical
observables on the kinematically unaccessible x->0 region of parton
distributions. We compare results for resummed deep-inelastic scattering
obtained using the Borel prescription and the minimal prescription and exploit
the comparison to discuss the ambiguities related to the resummation procedure.Comment: 15 pages, 3 figures. Final version, to be published in Phys. Lett. B.

Refining threshold resummations
We describe some recent refinements of the techniques of threshold
resummation, with emphasis on the usefulness of dimensional regularization when
applied to nonabelian exponentiation. Threshold resummation is now under
theoretical control for DIS and electroweak annihilation cross sections all the
way to the fourth tower of logarithms and up to corrections suppressed by
powers of the threshold variable.Comment: Presented at 8th DESY Workshop on Elementary Particle Theory: Loops

QCD Corrections to Dilepton Production near Partonic Threshold in proton-antiproton Scattering
We present a recent study of the QCD corrections to dilepton production near
partonic threshold in transversely polarized \bar{p}p scattering. We analyze
the role of the higher-order perturbative QCD corrections in terms of the
available fixed-order contributions as well as of all-order soft-gluon
resummations for the kinematical regime of proposed experiments at GSI-FAIR. We
find that perturbative corrections are large for both unpolarized and polarized
cross sections, but that the spin asymmetries are stable. The role of the far
infrared region of the momentum integral in the resummed exponent and the
effect of the NNLL resummation are briefly discussed.Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures, to appear in the proceedings of the "7th

On next-to-eikonal corrections to threshold resummation for the Drell-Yan and DIS cross sections
We study corrections suppressed by one power of the soft gluon energy to the
resummation of threshold logarithms for the Drell-Yan cross section and for
Deep Inelastic structure functions. While no general factorization theorem is
known for these next-to-eikonal (NE) corrections, it is conjectured that at
least a subset will exponentiate, along with the logarithms arising at leading
power. Here we develop some general tools to study NE logarithms, and we
construct an ansatz for threshold resummation that includes various sources of
NE corrections, implementing in this context the improved collinear evolution
recently proposed by Dokshitzer, Marchesini and Salam (DMS). We compare our
ansatz to existing exact results at two and three loops, finding evidence for
the exponentiation of leading NE logarithms and confirming the predictivity of
DMS evolution.Comment: 17 page
Azimuthal Asymmetries in Heavy Quark Leptoproduction as a Test of pQCD
We analyze the perturbative and parametric stability of the QCD predictions
for the azimuthal asymmetries in heavy quark leptoproduction. At leading order,
the asymmetry vanishes whereas the one is of leading
twist and predicted to be about 15% at energies sufficiently above the
production threshold. We calculate the NLO soft-gluon corrections to
-dependent leptoproduction to the next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy.
The soft-gluon approximation provides a good description of the available exact
NLO results at . Our analysis shows that, contrary to the
production cross sections, the asymmetry is practically
insensitive to soft radiation for at energies of the
fixed target experiments. We conclude that the asymmetry is well
defined in pQCD: it is stable both perturbatively and parametrically, and
insensitive (in the case of bottom production) to nonperturbative
contributions. Measurements of the azimuthal asymmetries would provide an
excellent test of pQCD applicability to heavy flavor production.Comment: 13 pages, 9 figures, revtex, minor corrections, to appear in
