implantados en Europa para la despenalizaciĂłn parcial del aborto.[Abstract] Since the entry into force of the Law 5 / 1985 on the partial decriminalization of
abortion has emerged from the political, social and legal field since the possibility of
articulating a change in such regulation.
The possible reform of abortion would be to replace the current indications under
which abortion is a lawful act, by a system of deadlines. The latter is the means chosen
by the majority of European countries to partially decriminalize abortion.
In this paper an analysis of Spanish criminal law on abortion, as well as a review
of European legislation that have opted for a different system to Spanish. The rationale
of this study is precisely the approach of a possible reform of abortion in Spain, ana-
lyzed the advantages and disadvantages of the two systems in place in Europe for the
partial depenalization of abortion

Effects of Artificial Light Treatments on Growth, Mineral Composition, Physiology, and Pigment Concentration in Dieffenbachia maculata “Compacta” Plants
Specific wavebands may allow precise control of plant growth. However, light sources must be carefully evaluated before the large-scale use of supplemental light sources can be implemented. Dieffenbachia maculata “Compacta” plants were grown for 8 weeks in pots in a growth chamber under tightly controlled temperature and humidity in order to assess the effects of supplemental light. Three treatments were applied: (i) using 18-W fluorescent bulbs (T1), (ii) using the same bulbs with supplemental light emitting diodes (LEDs) (Pure Blue and Pure Red Mix-Light-Emitting Diodes (BR-LEDs)) (T2), and (iii) using high-efficiency TL5 fluorescents (T3). Plant biomass, mineral composition, and physiological and photosynthetic parameters were assessed under each light treatment. Total plant dry weight was highest in plants grown under treatments T1 and T3. Other differences were observed between different light treatments, including variation in biomass partitioning as well as N and K concentrations in roots, stems, and leaves. Further, proline and indole 3-acetic acid (IAA) levels were higher in plants grown under the T1 treatment, whereas total soluble sugars and starch were higher in plants grown under treatment T3. Plants grown under treatment T1 had the lowest chlorophyll concentrations. No differences were observed in organ water content and P concentration. T2 was not the best treatment, as expected. The model proposed a linear regression between integrated use of spectral energy (IUSE) and total dry weight (TDW), which showed a good relationship with an R2 value of 0.83. Therefore, we recommend this methodology to discern the effects of the different spectral qualities on plant biomass
Women’s disengagement from legal proceedings for intimate partner violence in southern Spain: Variables related to legal proceedings
This article studies the relationship between a set of variables related to the
legal process and women’s disengagement from legal proceedings against
their (ex)partners in Southern Spain. A total of 345 women answered a
questionnaire. Results evidenced that request for a protection order (PO),
granting such PO, imprisonment of the offender, and women’s perception of
who decided during the process were significantly related to disengagement
(medium effect size). In addition, a logistic regression model was developed
to predict disengagement with two variables: granting a PO and women’s
perception of who decided. Results are interpreted in terms of the necessity
that the judicial system gives support, protects, and provides women with
opportunities to participate in the recovery process.
A Semiparametric Estimation of Liquidity Effects on Option Pricing
This paper proposes a semiparametric option pricing model with liquidity, as proxied by the relative bid-ask spread. The nonparametric volatility function with liquidity as an explanatory variable is estimated using the Symmetrized Nearest Neighbors (SNN) estimator rather than the traditional kernel estimator. Moreover, special care is taken in obtaining the smoothing parameter. The in-sample performance of the model turns out to be statistically favorable relative to a competing model without liquidity. However, the out-of-sample performance of both models is quite disappointing despite the fact that we are not to reject the stability of risk-neutral densities estimated over different quarters during our sample period.multivariate kernel regression, bandwidth selection, symmetrized nearest neighbors, volatility smile, option pricing
