Writing Hypertext in Instruction. A Research-Based Didactical Concept
(ZPID)This article presents a didactical concept on hypertext writing. The aim is to teach students in schools and universities how to write hypertext in a way that their knowledge acquisition in the subject matter to be processed is supported. In order to achieve this objective, reflection on the design of hypertext is used to foster comprehension of the contents. The concept was developed by taking theoretical ideas and empirical research about writing traditional texts and hypertexts into account. It encompasses five units to present how to work with the features of hypertext appropriately. Each of the units covers one of the aspects, which have to be dealt with during the process of writing hypertext: a) developing a basic understanding for hypertext, b) designing nodes, c) organizing an overall structure, d) considering multiple perspectives and e) setting links. Towards Concept Change Detection in Marine Ecosystems
The research presented in this paper aims to accelerate the natural science research process by partially automating the execution of experiments using AI-assisted Concept-Change Detection (C-CD), e.g., for monitoring systems and studying biodiversity and ecosystem functions. The purpose of C-CD is to detect concept changes, also known as concept drift, that may be relevant to the study or ecosystem state. For example, in intertidal marine ecosystems, the event of sudden flooding can lead to dramatic changes in biodiversity. It could also be of scientific interest to take sensor samples more frequently in the period leading up to such events. The paper proposes an architecture for C-CD to customize AI-based analysis of sensor data streams. Furthermore, the paper implements portions of the architecture and is applied on sensor data from the Spiekeroog Coastal Observatory (SCO) as a feasibility study. The study demonstrates C-CD's ability to detect anomalies that are either of scientific or technical interest to the operation and exploration activities of SCO
MANY SHORT LINKS The influence of the quantity and size oflinks on user behaviour, perception and comprehension
Navigating the internet is transforming the bases of news consumption. These changes, thoroughly analysed within some technical areas, still raise questions about the reception of news content. This study explores the influence of the quantity and size of links on user behaviour,
perception and comprehension. The experimental analysis, carried out using a convenience sample of 170 individuals, with six different model websites, reveals that content with both a greater number of links and with shorter links yields better results in terms of levels of perception, comprehension and, above all, user behaviour. This work was supported by the Science and Education Department of Generalitat Valenciana, Spai
