L'article explica els diferents recursos informàtics desenvolupats pels Serveis Lingüístics de la Universitat de Barcelona per a facilitar la cerca terminològica: des de la incorporació de la terminologia a les eines de verificació ortogràfica fins a una aplicació que posa a l'abast de tothom les consultes terminològiques que resolen els mateixos Serveis Lingüístics, passant per un cercador personalitzat del Google amb un univers de cerca restringit a reculls terminològics concrets o eines per a agilitar la consulta de recursos generals habituals.The article describes the different computer resources developed by the University of Barcelona Language Services to facilitate online searches for terms: the incorporation of terminology in spell check tools, an application that provides all users with access to terminology queries solved by Language Services, a Google custom search engine for specific glossaries and collections and tools that can speed up queries in general resources

Aquest article explora diferents propostes denominatives a l'hora de triar un terme que permeti designar al mateix temps l'acció de mesurar magnituds (propietats quantitatives) i l'acció d'identificar propietats nominals (propietats qualitatives), que són activitats que es duen a terme simultàniament en molts laboratoris cientificotecnològics i per a les quals no hi ha encara cap terme recomanat internacionalment.This article explores some denominative proposals for a term that means both the action of measuring quantities (quantitative properties) and the action of identifying nominal properties (qualitative properties), activities that are carried out simultaneously in many scientific and technological laboratories and for which there is no internationally-recommended term

En aquest article, els Serveis Lingüístics (SL) de la Universitat de Barcelona volen presentar els productes que han desenvolupat i recollit en la seva pàgina web de recursos lingüístics (www.ub.edu/sl/rl). Aquests recursos tenen diferents funcions relacionades amb l'assessorament lingüístic (resolució de consultes, assistència a la correcció, verificació de textos, cerca d'informació, etc.) i tenen, com a característica comuna, el valor de ser d'ús lliure i d'estar connectats entre si i amb altres recursos també accessibles a la xarxa

La terminologia en la construcció de les ciències gastronòmiques. Experiència docent en el grau de Ciències Culinàries i Gastronòmiques

El setembre de 2014, amb el guiatge de Joan Roca, es va inaugurar el grau de Ciències Culinàries i Gastronòmiques, el primer grau interuniversitari de ciències gastronòmiques a l'Estat espanyol liderat per dues universitats públiques, la Universitat de Barcelona (mitjançant l'Escola Universitària d'Hoteleria i Turisme CETT-UB i el Campus de l'Alimentació de Torribera) i la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (mitjançant l'Escola Superior d'Agricultura de Barcelona), amb la col·laboració de la Fundació Alícia. Aquesta iniciativa, juntament amb projectes com el BulliLab de Ferran Adrià i la Unitat UB-Bullipèdia (unitat de col·laboració entre la UB i elBulliFoundation durant el període 2012-2015), són mostres del procés d'academització que viu actualment la gastronomia

El «Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana»

This article describes the process by which the Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana (NDNLC) has been made; this dictionary brings up to date and regularizes Pompeu Fabra’s Diccionari General de la Llengua Catalana (DGLC), which implies, on the one hand, adding to the dictionary new words brought about by different social habits and by the progress of Science and technology, and, on the other hand, bringing the contents of the dictionary up to date. This project has been carried out in three different phases. The first consisted in creating a general Computer data base (BDOL) which contains, besides the DGLC, words belonging both to the common language and to specific fields; in this first phase a study of the DGLC was also carried out, with two aims: a) to analyse the text itself and in doing so select whatever Information might be considered obsolete today, and b) to find out the criteria which Fabra used to make the dictionary, which are implicit in the text. In the second phase the lexicographic criteria by which the dictionary was to be made were established, its entries (both words and phrases) were selected, the old articles were revised and new ones were created. Finally, in the third phase the data base specifically for the NDNLC was created; this contains all the Information of the Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana, organised into articles
