Advanced Industrial development occurs in all sectors, including textile industry. Every working place has various danger or risk factors that can affect occupational safety andhealth. Level of safety depends on attitude and practices of employees and employers. Therefore, nlightenment activity is very important to improve occupational safety and accident prevention. Purpose of the research is to know difference discipline the use of Personal Protective Equipment who were not given ccupational safety and health enlightenmentworkers and who are given occupational safety and health enlightenment workers among production of PT. Iskandar Indah printing Textile. The research was a quasi-experimental one equipped with quantitative approach. The research used on-equivalent control group design. Population of the research iswho were not given occupational safety and health enlightenmentproductionworkers amounting to 15 individuals and who are given occupational safety and ealthenlightenment production workers amounting to 15 individuals. Sample was taken by using random sampling technique. Statistical test of Mann-Whitney obtained p-value = 0.015<0.05. It means that difference discipline the use of Personal Protective Equipmentwho were not given occupational health and safety enlightenmentworkersand who are given occupational health and safety enlightenment workersamong production of PT. Title: Visual Communication Promotion Design for Loksado's Tourist Attraction in South Borneo with Photography Approach. The promotion design had a purpose to introduce the tourist attraction in South Borneo, especially Loksado. Loksado is the place that has been there all the time, but there's no media promotion to promote the area. The available promotion is only word of mouth, so it less known to the public. So it need some effort to introduce the uniquely and interesting of Loksado. With this design hopefully promote the Loksado. And also attract more tourists to visit

Unbundling in Current Broadband and Next-Generation Ultra-Broadband Access Networks

    Get PDF
This article overviews the methods that are currently under investigation for implementing multi-operator open-access/shared-access techniques in next-generation access ultra-broadband architectures, starting from the traditional "unbundling-of-the-local-loop" techniques implemented in legacy twisted-pair digital subscriber line access networks. A straightforward replication of these copper-based unbundling-of-the-local-loop techniques is usually not feasible on next-generation access networks, including fiber-to-the-home point-to-multipoint passive optical networks. To investigate this issue, the article first gives a concise description of traditional copper-based unbundling-of-the-local-loop solutions, then focalizes on both next-generation access hybrid fiber-copper digital subscriber line fiber-to-the-cabinet scenarios and on fiber to the home by accounting for the mix of regulatory and technological reasons driving the next-generation access migration path, focusing mostly on the European situation. © 2014 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC

GEOTECHNICAL PROCESSES AND SOIL-WATER MOVEMENT WITH TRANSPORT OF POLLUTANTS IN THE ESTONIAN OIL SHALE MINING AREA

One of the most important industries of Northeast Estonia is oil shale mining. Ground movements caused by mining reach the ground surface easily due to shallow location of workings. A new, artificial topography is formed on undermined areas, where the ground surface depressions are alternating with rising grounds. When the Quaternary cover contains loamy sediments, the surface water will accumulate in the depressions. The response of usable lands on undermined areas depends on the degree of changes in the relief and water regime. The accumulation of solid residues by oil shale mines and processing plants has resulted in numerous ash hills, which are polluting the environment. The streams are polluted by phenols, oil products and sulphates. The main source of water supply is groundwater in the oil shale basin. The hydrostratigraphic section is represented by three aquifers. Two (Quaternary and Ordovician) of these aquifers are affected by the human activity. Intensive water consumption has caused a fall in the water level in these aquifers. Due to oil shale production the concentration of Ca2+, Mg2+, SO4 2- and Cl- contained in the groundwater from the Ordovician deposits is noticeably higher than in the water with a natural background level. The natural water chemical regime is restored at the cessation of mining

Exploring the "N-Terminal Anchor" Binding Interface of the T3SS Chaperone-Translocator Complexes from P. aeruginosa.

The type III secretion system is a large multiprotein complex that many Gram-negative bacteria use for infection. A crucial part of the complex is its translocon pore formed by two proteins: the major and minor translocators. The pore completes a proteinaceous channel from the bacterial cytosol through the host cell membrane and allows the direct injection of bacterial toxins. Effective pore formation is predicated by the translocator proteins binding to a small chaperone within the bacterial cytoplasm. Given the vital role of the chaperone-translocator interaction, we investigated the specificity of the "N-terminal anchor" binding interface present in both translocator-chaperone complexes from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Isothermal calorimetry (ITC), alanine scanning, and the selection of a motif-based peptide library using ribosome display were used to characterize the major (PopB) and minor (PopD) translocator interactions with their chaperone PcrH. We show that 10 mer PopB51-60 and PopD47-56 peptides bind to PcrH with a KD of 148 ± 18 and 91 ± 9 μM, respectively. Moreover, mutation to alanine of each of the consensus residues (xxVxLxxPxx) of the PopB peptide severely affected or completely abrogated binding to PcrH. When the directed peptide library (X-X-hydrophobic-X-L-X-X-P-X-X) was panned against PcrH, there was no obvious convergence at the varied residues. The PopB/PopD wild-type (WT) sequences were also not prevalent. However, a consensus peptide was shown to bind to PcrH with micromolar affinity. Thus, selected sequences were binding with similar affinities to WT PopB/PopD peptides. These results demonstrate that only the conserved "xxLxxP" motif drives binding at this interface

Programmed Protein Self-Assembly Driven by Genetically Encoded Intein-Mediated Native Chemical Ligation

Harnessing and controlling self-assembly is an important step in developing proteins as novel biomaterials. With this goal, here we report the design of a general genetically programmed system that covalently concatenates multiple distinct protein domains into specific assembled arrays. It is driven by iterative intein-mediated native chemical ligation (NCL) under mild native conditions. The system uses a series of initially inert recombinant protein fusions that sandwich the protein modules to be ligated between one of a number of different affinity tags and an intein protein domain. Orthogonal activation at opposite termini of compatible protein fusions, via protease and intein cleavage, coupled with sequential mixing directs an irreversible and traceless stepwise assembly process. This gives total control over the composition and arrangement of component proteins within the final product, enabled the limits of the systemreaction efficiency and yieldto be investigated, and led to the production of “functional” assemblies
