    The efficacy and safety of omalizumab in refractory chronspontaneous urticaria: Real-life experience in Turkey

    Introduction: This study used real-world data to evaluate the effectiveness and reliability of omalizumab in treating recalcitrant chronic spontaneous urticaria in Turkish patients. Methods: Study data were collected retrospectively from eight tertiary-care hospitals in Turkey. This study included 132 patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria that were resistant to H1 antihistamine treatment in a dose up to four times the licensed dose and were treated with 300 mg/month of omalizumab for 6 months. Results: The mean weekly urticarial activity score (UAS7) after omalizumab treatment improved significantly compared to the pretreatment score (p <0.001). Treatment response was detected primarily in the 1st and 2nd months after treatment. No significant association was observed between omalizumab’s treatment effectiveness and disease-related parameters or laboratory data. The mean dermatology life quality index was 23.12 ± 6.15 before treatment and decreased to 3.55 ± 3.60 6 months after treatment (p <0.001). No side effects were reported in 89.4% (118) of the patients. Conclusion: This study showed that UAS7 decreased significantly and quality of life improved in omalizumab-treated patients. Moreover, treatment effectiveness was mainly observed in the first 2 months after treatment. However, no association was observed between omalizumab treatment effectiveness and disease-related parameters or laboratory data

    İlerleyen teknolojik gelişmeler, nüfus artışı, uluslararası anlaşmalar, devlet düzenlemeleri ve küreselleşme, havacılık sektörünün hızlı bir şekilde önem kazanmasını sağlamaktadır. Havacılık sektörünün en güvenli, en hızlı ve en konforlu ulaşım aracı olması nedeniyle, diğer ulaşım türlerinden yolcu çekmektedir. Ayrıca, kıtalararası ulaşım gibi uzun seyahat mesafeleri, hava yoluyla taşınan yolcu sayısı ve yük miktarını hızla arttırmaktadır. Artan yolcu ve yük talebini karşılamak için, havaalanı tesisleri doğru bir şekilde tasarlanmalıdır. Terminal binasını/binalarını, pistleri ve apronları içeren havaalanı tesislerinin tasarımı, hava trafik talebiyle doğrudan ilişkilidir. Bu talep, tahminlerin üretilmesiyle elde edilmektedir. Hava trafik tahmini belirlendiğinde, havaalanı kapasitesiyle karşılaştırılır. Bu şekilde, ek veya yeni tesis inşasına karar verilmektedir._x000B_Bu çalışmada, 2001-2010 yıllarına ilişkin Türkiye'deki İzmir Adnan Menderes, Antalya ve Esenboğa Havalimanlarının iç hat yolcu verilerine zaman serisi analizi uygulanmıştır. Analizlerden sonra, gelecek 5 yıl için iç hat yolcu tahminleri yapılmıştır. Sonrasında, yolcu ve uçak verileri, ithalat, ihracat, dış ticaret hacmi, araç sahipliği ve internet abone sayısı gibi sosyoekonomik verilerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Technological developments, population growth, international agreements, government regulations and globalization let the aviation industry make relatively fast progress. Since air transportation is the safest, the fastest and the most comfortable way of transport, it attracts passengers from other modes of transportation. Besides, long travel distances like intercontinental transportation have accelerated both the number of passengers and the amount of freight transported by air. In order to handle the increasing passenger and freight demand, airport facilities must be planned accurately. Design of airport facilities including terminal building/buildings, runways and aprons is directly related to air traffic demand. This demand is determined by generating forecasts. When air traffic demand is specified, it is compared with airport capacity. In this way, need for additional or new facility construction is decided._x000B_In this study, time series analysis was applied to domestic air passenger data of Adnan Menderes, Antalya and Esenboğa Airports in Turkey during the period 2001-2010. After the analyses, domestic air passenger data for the next five years were predicted. Then, passenger and aircraft data were compared with socioeconomic parameters such as import, export, foreign trade volume, car ownership, number of buses and number of internet subscribers
