ANALISIS PENGARUH RETURN ON EQUITY, DEBT TO EQUITY RATIO, GROSS PROFIT MARGIN, DAN NET PROFIT MARGIN TERHADAP FINANCIAL DISTRESS (Studi Empiris pada Perusahaan Pertambangan yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Periode 2012-2015)

This study aims to examine the effect of return on equity, debt to equity ratio, gross profit margin, and net profit margin on financial distress. Sample of this study used a mining company that listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2012-2015. This research was made because there are differences in results between studies with each other. To obtain valid results of this research, sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling method so that obtained sample as many as 22 companies with 88 observation. The method of analysis used is logistic regression analysis method. The results of this research show that gross profit margin and net profit margin had a significant negative effect on financial distress. While return on equity and debt to equity ratio have no significant effect to financial distress. In addition, the coefficient value of Nagelkerke's R Square is 92.2%. This means that 7.8% is explained by other variables outside the model

In the modern era, the leadership values and processes that must be passed by someone to become a leader has been changed. The evolution of mind and social life has changed the paradigm of modern humans in the view of the concept of leadership. To be a leader, a person must speak and train himself to have the character, abilities or qualities that should be owned by leaders. The Students who manage intra-school organizations (OSIS) are one of the forerunners of future leaders in the future and have an interest in driving change in their respective schools so that they become better. As a form of caring in building a leadership model that has integrity, Indonesia College of Economics conducts leadership training and coaching for OSIS administrators in SMA & SMK Negeri as well as the private sector in North Jakarta. The method used in this training consisted of lecture activities, question and answer sessions, discussion of case studies, by explaining the basic concepts of visionary leadership, participative leadership styles, change leadership and how to make decisions correctly. After this training, it is hoped that the student council officials will possess and demonstrate leadership motivation skills that are ready to challenge and can inspire students in their respective school environments

Improving work readiness through talent management, knowledge management and learning organizations in private universities

This study aims to determine the work readiness of private universities students in LLDIKTI Region III. This study emphasizes on executiemphasisng talent management, knowledge management, career decision-making self-efficacy and learning organizations’ that can impact on is work readiness of universities student. The current high unemployment rate is not only caused by fewer available jobs, but it can also be caused by private higher education that not investing in enhancing their talent through independent program. The method used in this study is a survey method, where data is obtained from the results of collection using a questionnaire. The sample in this study were 397 respondents. The analysis tool used is PLS-SEM 3.0 version with the stratified random sampling method technique. The talent management can improve knowledge management, learning organization and work readiness. Besides, career development program also enhance preparation for work readiness Private university need to enhance the talent mapping, development and retention program for the academician to enhancing their work readiness. Does Toxic Leadership, Employee Welfare, Job Insecurity, and Work Incivility Have an Impact On Employee Innovative Performance at Private Universities in LLDIKTI III Area?

This study aims to determine the impact of toxic leadership, workplace incivility, employee welfare and job insecurity on employee innovative performance in private universities in the LLDIKTI III area. This study used causal and associative approach, where data is obtained from the results of collection using a questionnaire. The population in this study were lecturers from Private universities in the LLDIKTI III area. The sample in this study were 376 respondents. The analysis tool used is SmartPLS 3 with Structural Equation Modeling technique based on Partial Least Square. The results of this study state that Employee Welfare affects Employee Innovative Performance. Then Toxic Leadership and Employee Welfare affect Workplace Incivility, and Toxic leadership, Workplace Incivility and Employee Welfare affect Job Insecurity at private university. Leaders who have a Toxic Leadership, work incivility will not have a good impact on Employee Innovative Performance, while also reducing the innovative performance of employees. Writing scientific articles for undergraduate students: A need analysis

Excellent and appropriate teaching materials are based on the results of needs analysis. They significantly affect students’ ability to write scientific articles and increase their knowledge and understanding of scientific papers required by indexed and reputable journals. This article explores the target needs (i.e., necessities, lacks, and wants) for teaching materials based on accredited journal criteria for scientific article writing. The design used is a case study. The data were collected using a questionnaire about target needs based on the theory of Hutchinson and Waters, namely lacks, necessities, and wants, and a focus group interview. The results showed that students must learn about teaching materials to write scientific articles to improve their writing quality. Regarding the students’ lack of learning material for writing scientific articles, 85.53% indicated students’ lack of IMRAD or introduction, method, result and discussion, and conclusion format research articles. According to students’ perceptions, restating the research objective and approach and creating a research gap is the most difficult. Among 72 participants, 80% mentioned learning how to write based on the IMRAD format creating a research gap found to be the most critical skill they want to learn in the new course and then followed by summarizing and presenting data

Survival and human resource strategies of private higher education in facing an era of change: Insight from Indonesia

Purpose Survival in private higher education is possible if universities have the superior talent to withstand the shocks of change. Hence, the human resource strategy is an essential part of surviving. Thus, this study aims to identify and determine the implementation of survival and human resource strategies in Indonesia’s private higher education is facing an era of change. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. In collecting data, researchers used the archival method. The data is sourced from news, a total of 602 data sources, and obtained from online publications through trusted news and media. This study found six strategies of survival and human resource by private higher education in Indonesia to encounter an era of change: Efficiency; Quality Assurance; Customer Retention Program; Intensive Marketing Program; Opening of New Programs; Mergers, and Acquisitions. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan fenomena bahwa usaha kecil konveksi pakaian jadi Cipulir Jakarta Selatan produknya menurun drastis akibat ketatnya persaingan dengan produk pakaian jadi dari Cina setelah diberlakukannya perdagangan bebas. Ada dugaan kinerja usaha kecil menurun disebabkan belum berperannya kewirausahaan, peranan pemerintah dan kompetensi manajerial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdukung hubungan antar variabel tersebut hasilnya sangat beragam, ada yang berhubungan dan ada yang tidak. Dengan adanya fenomena dan variasi hasil penelitian maka dijadikan latar belakang untuk meneliti lebih lanjut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur dan menjelaskan pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja usaha serta yang dimediasi oleh variabel kompetensi manajerial dan dimoderasi oleh peranan pemerintah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan setting penelitian Usaha Kecil pakaian jadi Pasar Cipulir Jakarta Selatan. Populasi 700 Usaha Kecil pakaian jadi yang diwakili oleh para pengusahanya dan diambil sampel sebanyak 255 dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Analisis data menggunakan teknik PLS ( Partial Least Squares ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orientasi kewirausahaan tidak berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap kinerja usaha kecil. Peranan pemerintah belum bisa memperkuat pengaruh orientasi kewirausahaan terhadap kinerja usaha. Namun orientasi kewirausahaan berpengaruh terhadap kompetensi manajerial, demikian juga kompetensi manajerial berpengaruh terhadap kinerja usaha kecil.
