    Emission of Two Hard Photons in Large-Angle Bhabha Scattering

    Get PDF
    A closed expression for the differential cross section of the large-angle Bhabha e+e−e^+ e^- scattering which explicitly takes into account the leading and next-to-leading contributions due to the emission of two hard photons is presented. Both collinear and semi-collinear kinematical regions are considered. The results are illustrated by numerical calculations.Comment: 13 pages, LaTeX, 1 PostScript figure, submitted to Nucl. Phys.

    Experimental study of the e+e- -> pi0 gamma process in the energy region sqrt(s)=0.60-0.97 GeV

    Results of the study of the e+e-->pi0 gamma process with SND detector at VEPP-2M collider in the c.m.s. energy range sqrt(s)=0.60-0.97 GeV are presented. Using 36513 selected events corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 3.4 pb^-1 the e+e-->pi0 gamma cross section was measured. The energy dependence of the cross section was analyzed in the framework of the vector meson dominance model. The data are well described by a sum of phi,omega,rho0->pi0 gamma decay contributions with measured decay probabilities: Br(omega->pi0 gamma)=(9.34+-0.15+-0.31)% and Br(rho0->pi0 gamma)=(5.15+-1.16+-0.73)*10^-4 . The rho-omega relative interference phase is phi(rho,omega}=(-10.2+-6.5+-2.5) degree

    Measurement of omega meson parameters in pi^+pi^-pi^0 decay mode with CMD-2

    Full text link
    About 11 200 e^+e^- -> omega -> pi^+pi^-pi^0 events selected in the center of mass energy range from 760 to 810 MeV were used for the measurement of the \omega meson parameters. The following results have been obtained: sigma _{0}=(1457 \pm 23 \pm 19)nb, m_{\omega}=(782.71 \pm 0.07 \pm 0.04) MeV/c^{2}, \Gamma_{\omega}=(8.68 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.10) MeV, \Gamma_{e^+e^-}\cdot Br (\omega -> pi^+pi^-pi^0)= (0.528 \pm 0.012 \pm 0.007) \cdot 10^{-3} MeV.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure

    The Pomeron In Exclusive Vector Meson Production

    Get PDF
    An earlier developed model for vector meson photoproduction, based on a dipole Pomeron exchange, is extended to electroproduction. Universality of the non linear Pomeron trajectory is tested by fitting the model to ZEUS and H1 data as well as to CDF data on pˉp\bar pp elastic scattering.Comment: 12 pages, 13 figure

    Ioffe-time distributions instead of parton momentum distributions in description of deep inelastic scattering

    Get PDF
    We argue that parton distributions in coordinate space provide a more natural object for nonperturbative methods compared to the usual momentum distributions in which the physics of different longitudinal distances is being mixed. To illustrate the advantages of the coordinate space formulation, we calculate the coordinate space distributions for valence quarks in the proton using the QCD sum rule approach. A remarkable agreement is found between the calculated and the experimentally measured u-quark distribution up to light-cone distances Δ−=Δ0−Δ3\Delta^- = \Delta^0 - \Delta^3 of order ∌1\sim 1 fm in the proton rest frame. The calculation for valence d quarks gives much worse results; the reasons for this discrepancy are discussed.Comment: 24 pages plus 13 pages with figures, requires epsf.sty, revised version to appear in Phys.Rev.

    The process e+e−→π+π−π0e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 in the energy range 2E_0=1.04 - 1.38 GeV

    In the experiment with the SND detector at VEPP-2M e^+e^- collider the process e+e−→π+π−π0e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 was studied in the energy range 2E_0 from 1.04 to 1.38 GeV. A broad peak was observed with the visible mass Mvis=1220±20M_{vis}=1220\pm 20 MeV and cross section in the maximum σ0≃4\sigma_0\simeq 4 nb. The peak can be interpreted as a ω\omega-like resonance ω(1200)\omega (1200).Comment: 10 pages LATEX and 5 figure

    Experimental Study of rho -> pi0 pi0 gamma and omega -> pi0 pi0 gamma Decays

    The e+e- -> pi0 pi0 gamma process was studied in the SND experiment at VEPP-2M e+e- collider in the energy region 0.60-0.97 GeV. From the analysis of the energy dependence of measured cross section the branching ratios B(omega -> pi0 pi0 gamma)= (6.6 +1.4-0.8(stat) +-0.6(syst))x10^-5 and B(rho -> pi0 pi0 gamma)=(4.1 +1.0-0.9(stat) +-0.3(syst))x10^-5 were obtained.Comment: 16 pages, 7 figures, submitted to Phys.     Using the 1.9pb−11.9 pb^{-1} of data collected with the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M the decay mode Ï•â†’Î·Îł\phi \to \eta \gamma, η→π+π−π0\eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0 has been studied. The obtained branching ratio is B(Ï•â†’Î·Îł)=(1.18±0.03±0.06)\phi \to \eta \gamma) = (1.18 \pm 0.03 \pm 0.06) %.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures, LaTex2e, to be published in Phys. Lett.
