Effect of anion doping on mobility of ionic charge carriers in solid solutions based on Ba2In2O5

In the work, mobilities of oxygen and protons are determined for F --substituted solid solutions based on brownmillerite Ba 2In2O5 and their concentration dependences are analyzed. It is found that small additives of the more mobile anion (F - ions) promote an increase in oxygen mobility as a result of additional effects of repulsion of ions of different nature in the anion sublattice. Mobility of oxygen at high fluoride concentrations decreases due to the overlapping of migration paths of diffusion, as both anions, fluoride ions and oxygen ions, move via oxygen vacancies. Concentration dependences of mobility of proton carriers have a similar character, which is related to the effect of the oxygen sublattice. The anion doping method used in the work can be recommended as the general method for improvement of the transport characteristics of oxygen-ionic and protonic conductors with a perovskite-like structure. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

Electric properties of oxyfluorides Ba2In2O 5-0.5x F x with brownmillerite structure

Synthesis of fluoro-substituted substances based on brownmillerite Ba 2In2O5 is carried out. The width of the homogeneity region of the Ba2In2O5-0.5x F x (0 < x ≤ 0.25) solid solution was established using X-ray analysis. Measurement of temperature dependences of conductivity in atmospheres with different partial pressure of water vapor (pH2O = 3.3 and 2 Ч 103 Pa) showed an increase in conductivity at T ≤ 550 C in a humid atmosphere, which is due to appearance of proton transport. The dependence of conductivity on partial oxygen pressure (pO2 = 0.21 Ч 105 to 10-15 Pa) is studied in the temperature range of 500-1000 C; ion transport numbers are calculated. The method of polarization measurements was used to determine transport numbers of fluoride. Total conductivity is divided into ion (proton, oxygen, and fluoride ion) and electron components. Analysis of concentration dependences of conductivities showed that low concentrations of fluoride allow increasing both the total and partial conductivities (oxygen-ion and proton) and, besides, allow shifting the "order-disorder" phase transition by 100 C to the low temperature range. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd

Solid oxide electrolytes have attracted significant attention due to their possible applications in energy conversion devices, including solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and electrolysis cells (SOECs). Although a large amount of data has been accumulated to date, the design of new representatives of ionic electrolytes is of unquenchable interest. In this paper, a review of the new classes of proton-conducting solid electrolytes is provided. The physicochemical and transport properties of layered perovskites (BaNdInO4, BaNdScO4, SrLaInO4, BaLaInO4) and hexagonal perovskites (Ba7Nb4MoO20, Ba5Er2Al2ZrO13 and Ba5In2Al2ZrO13) were analyzed and summarized. Based on the performed analysis, the most promising compositions among the considered phases were identified and the effective approaches aimed at improving their functional characteristics were provided.keywords: layered perovskite, Ruddlesden-Popper structure, hexagonal perovskite, proton conductivity, SOFCs, SOECsDOI: https://doi.org/10.15726/elmattech.2022.1.00

Speech act of approval as a separate component of a positive assessment speech act

    Get PDF
The classification of speech acts is one of the most urgent problems of modern linguistic pragmatics. Although there were many attempts to determine the types of speech acts, based on the totality of the linguistic and extra-linguistic components, as well as their implementation, the clear distinctions of function space of acts are absent still. Besides, there are disputes about the existence of a particular type of speech act against the background of a clear division absence concerning functional features. Modern scientists, in contrast to the linguistic pragmatics classics, tend to consider speech acts in interaction, as the acts do not occur virtually in a pure form. We agree with the fact that an act of the communication process interacting with a context, is supplemented by shading values. Due to this, some speech acts seem to lose its primary importance and begin to be considered within the contiguous acts. These acts include the act of approval, which is still considered by some works, as a component of a complement or praise. We used the following methods in our scientific work: apperceive method, aspect, hermeneutic, critical, holographic and problem analysis. We proved that the approval is a separate element of the positive-evaluation acts of expressive element class, based on three important points. First of all, having considered the addressee and the object of positive assessment speech acts, we concluded that in contrast to flattery, praise and a complement, an interlocutor is not an object of approval but some decision or an action. Secondly, we found the works of scholars, who proved the existence of a disapproval speech act. Comparing the approval and disapproval, we concluded that the act of approval performs a specific function, and also has the right to an independent existence. Thirdly, we reviewed the approval in terms of sincerity category, and found the examples and situations in which the approval is not a sincere one. We described the difference between insincere approval and flattery. Thus, proving that an act of approval exists as a separate component of positive assessment speech acts, we distinguished its functional and proved that taking into account the context factor and the factor of combinatorial features, you may clearly define the functional capacity of approval speech acts

Outplacement–An employment safety tool but not for everyone. The relationship between job insecurity, new job opportunities and outplacement implementation

This article explores outplacement models typical for understanding the roles of job insecurity and the subjective perception of opportunities to find a new job. This study aims to validate the following hypothesis: people who are covered by outplacement systems in a workplace usually feel that they have both a good opportunity to find a job and have low job insecurity. Outplacement was defined according to a matrix of job insecurity and the possibility of finding a job. This comparative study is the first one that investigates the differences in outplacement and was carried out taking into account job insecurity and job opportunities. The Job Opportunity Index was almost the same in Russia and Poland but the Job Insecurity Index in Poland was higher than in Russia. 51% of Russian bankers and 29% of Polish bankers indicated that they could count on outplacement services to help them. The hypothesis was not confirmed in Poland as it was in Russia. The hypothesis of this study is supported by empirical research carried out on a sample of 2324 bank employees in Poland and in the Russian Federation. Factor analysis, discriminant analysis, the Mann-Whitney test and the Wilks’ Lambda test were used. © 2020, © 2020 The Author(s). The distribution of epiphytic bryophyte and lichen species growing on aspen in the middle boreal forests was studied in southern Karelia (Russia). These forests varied in time-since-disturbance from 80 to 450 years. Two hundred twenty two species of epiphytes, including 178 lichens, 32 mosses and 12 liverworts, were recorded on 192 aspen trees in forests over 24 ha, in the Karelian part of the Vodlozero National Park, Kivach Strict Nature Reserve, Kizhi Sanctuary and Petrozavodsk City. Arthonia biatoricola, A. excipienda and Biatoridium monasteriense were collected in Karelia for the first time. Eighteen rare species (lichens Anaptychia ciliaris, Arthonia vinosa, Bryoria nadvornikiana, Chaenotheca gracilenta, C. stemonea, Lecidea albofuscescens, Lobaria pulmonaria, Melanelixia subaurifera, Nephroma bellum, N. laevigatum, Phaeocalicium populneum, Ramalina thrausta, Rostania occultata, Scytinium subtile, Usnea barbata, mosses Neckera pennata, Plagiomnium drummondii and liverwort Lejeunea cavifolia) listed in the Red Data Book of Republic of Karelia (2007) were found. Relationships between epiphytic lichen and bryophyte species richness and certain environmental variables (at different trunk heights above ground and time-since-disturbance) were evaluated. Lichens and mosses on aspen trunks often occupy different ecological niches. Cover and diversity of bryophytes was high on trunk bases, while the number of lichen species and their cover were higher at a height of 1.3 m above ground level. The total number of lichen species on aspen increased on average from 40 to 60 species per ha with increasing time-since-disturbance from 100 to 450 years. A stabilization in lichen species number was observed at about 200 years since disturbance. No significant correlation was determined between bryophyte diversity on aspens and the time-since-disturbance.

The results of studying solid solutions with the composition of Bi 3Nb1 - y Zr y O7 ± δ, Bi2.95Y0.05Nb1 - y Zr y O 7 ± δ (y = 0-0.5; Δy = 0.1), and Bi 6.95Y0.05Nb2 - y Zr y O 15.5 (y = 0.1-1; Δy = 0.1) are presented. XRD and electron microscopy with X-ray microanalysis are used to determine the homogeneity regions of solid solutions; crystallochemical parameters are calculated. It is shown that irrespective of the ratio of Bi: Nb, two cubic phases are formed at an increase in the dopant amount. One of these represents a solid solution based on Bi3NbO7 (δ-phase) and the second one is a solid solution based on δ-Bi2O3 (δ′-phase). Conductivity of sintered samples is studied using the impedance spectroscopy technique. Introduction of yttrium into the bismuth sublattice results in no increase in conductivity of solid solutions, while in the case of the ratio of Bi: Nb = 3: 1, overall conductivity of solid solutions is somewhat higher at similar dopant concentrations. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd
