Estimated characteristics of mental states' representations

    Get PDF
Formation of mental states ideas in the mental plane, as well as result of this process in the form of an mage and knowledge as sets of a state subjective judgments, are connected with mental representations of the person. The study of mental representations has the special significance as the mental status - a personal subjective phenomenon of human mentality and separation of the universal regularities in their representation - can also reveal regularities in forming pattern of the world and structure of ideas in it. In article research results of evaluation characteristics of mental representations for mental statuses are provided: pleasures, disturbances, tranquility and exhaustions. The method of semantic differential in V. F. Petrenko's modification was applied to establishing evaluation level of mental statuses representations. For each of the considered statuses core formations and the periphery which reflect invariant and specific components of mental representations for mental statuses are revealed. The positive statuses of pleasure and tranquility are characterized by the smallest number of selected elements and they are described equally by most of the examinees. The composition of mental representations for statuses, and also organization of the received structure is shown. The most organized structures for the negative statuses of disturbance and exhaustion appear. Statuses of pleasure and inspiration possess the smallest structure organization. Research results allow to explain mechanisms of mental statuses self-regulation - transition from a non-equilibrium status to equilibrium

Dynamics of Cognitive Functions in Patients With Parasellar Meningiomas Undergoing Radiotherapy

    Get PDF
This study was focused on neuropsychological analysis of the cognitive functions in patients with parasellar meningiomas undergoing radiation therapy. In these patients, the unilateral hippocampus adjacent to the tumor was partially exposed to irradiation. A novel approach was used to assess particular memory functionsincluding pattern separation, in subpopulations of subjects prior to the course of radiotherapy, immediately after the course, and 1–2 years after therapy. Our results show a tendency for pattern separation decline in the long-term follow-up. A possible association of these disorders with the effect of the hippocampal region irradiation and inhibition of adult neurogenesis is discussed. Keywords: cognitive functions, radiation therapy, hippocampus, parasellar meningioma, pattern separation, adult neurogenesi

Exclusive ppnnπ+π+pp \to nn \pi^{+}\pi^{+} reaction at LHC and RHIC

We evaluate differential distributions for the four-body ppnnπ+π+p p \to n n \pi^+ \pi^+ reaction. The amplitude for the process is calculated in the Regge approach including many diagrams. We make predictions for possible future experiments at RHIC and LHC energies. Very large cross sections are found which is partially due to interference of a few mechanisms. Presence of several interfering mechanisms precludes extraction of the elastic π+π+\pi^+ \pi^+ scattering cross section. Absorption effects are estimated. Differential distributions in pseudorapidity, rapidity, invariant two-pion mass, transverse-momentum and energy distributions of neutrons are presented for proton-proton collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 500 GeV (RHIC) and s\sqrt{s} = 0.9, 2.36 and 7 TeV (LHC). Cross sections with experimental cuts are presented.Comment: 22 pages, 18 figures, calculations have been corrected, new processes added, discussion expanded in print in Phys. Rev.

Purpose: The article aims to investigate the current situation of the agricultural sector, as well as its normative-legal regulation in the Russian Federation. Currently, in the context of the economic development, the importance of the agricultural sector is undeniable. Design/Methodology/Approach: It is necessary to determine the trajectory of the internal control system in the management of agricultural organizations, to investigate the current situation of the agricultural sector in the Russian Federation, as well as to systematize the normative regulation in the agricultural sector and to identify the groups of problems of the internal control system. Findings: The article presents the stages of the implementation of the state policy in the field of a sustainable development of rural areas. There are identified the main directions of the development of the agricultural sector. Having analyzed the industry features in agriculture, determined by different scientists and practitioners, the authors identified features that affect the organization of the internal control system. There are analyzed and allocated enlarged groups of problems of internal control system in the agricultural organizations: normative-legal; organizational-methodical; informational; methodological; software and hardware. Practical Implications: The results of the study can be implemented into the practice of organization, functioning and improvement of the internal control system of agricultural organizations. Originality/Value: The main contribution of this study is to clarify and develop the theoretical and methodological aspects of the internal control system in agricultural organizations in the context of digitalization.peer-reviewe

High-pressure phase relations of Bi2_{2}Sr2_{2}CaCu2_{2}O8+δ_{8+\delta} single crystals

We have investigated the pressure dependence of the superconducting transition temperature TcT_{c} up to 18 GPa of Bi2_{2}Sr2_{2}CaCu2_{2}O8+δ_{8+\delta} single crystals ranging from the highly underdoped through the nearly optimally doped to the highly overdoped level. For all three samples studied, TcT_{c} is found to increase initially and then saturate at a critical pressure PcP_{c} but decrease modestly with further compression. Oxygen doping tends to reduce the increase in TcT_{c} and PcP_{c}. A new high-pressure phase diagram between the saturated TcT_{c} and PcP_{c} is then obtained. Theoretical interpretation is given by using the competition between the hole carrier density and pairing interaction strength based on the high-pressure transport data of the resistivity and Hall coefficient in this system.Comment: 8 pages, 7 figures, to appear in Physical Review

RISK FACTORS FOR OSTEOPOROSIS IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

    Get PDF
The present review is devoted to the risk factors of osteoporosis progression in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), both relevant and irrelevant to the main disease. It is assumed that the most important predictors of the bone mineral density decrease is severe course of RA, significant functional disability (according to HAQ), glucocorticoid therapy, elderly age, low body mass index and menopause. However, despite the vast amount of studies, results on the risk factors of osteoporosis remain ambiguous and require further investigation

Word order does not constrain phonological activation in single word production

    Get PDF
It has recently been claimed that the canonical word order of a given language constrains phonological activation processes even in single word production (Janssen, Alario, & Caramazza, 2008). This hypothesis predicts for languages with canonical adjective-noun word order that naming an object (i.e., noun production) is facilitated if the task-irrelevant colour of the object (i.e., adjective) is phonologically similar to the object name (e.g., blue-boat as compared to red-boat). By contrast, there should be no corresponding effect in naming the colour of the object (i.e., adjective production). In an experiment with native speakers of German, however, we observed exactly the opposite pattern. Phonological congruency facilitated colour naming but had no effect on object naming. Together with extant data from other languages our results suggest that object colour naming is affected by the phonology of the object name but not vice versa, regardless of the canonical word order in the given language. © 2011 Psychology Press Ltd

Analgesic treatment, by using a systemic algorithm

    Get PDF
To control musculoskeletal pain (MSP) is an important component of combination treatment for systemic inflammatory rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis, and a major area of therapy for osteoarthritis and nonspecific back pain. Pain development is associated with a number of pathogenetic mechanisms: local involvement; involvement of the elements of the ligamentous apparatus; chronic muscle tension; biomechanical disorders; dysfunction of the nociceptive system. This necessitates a comprehensive approach during analgesic therapy, with combined use of drugs having a different mechanism of analgesic action. This review considers the targets of pharmacotherapy for MSP and the main groups of medications that may affect them. The paper proposes an analgesic treatment algorithm based on the diagnosis of individual elements of the pathogenesis of chronic MSP and on the successive assessment of treatment results
