This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by Taylor & Francis in Nordic Psychology on 19 Feb 2020, available at http://wwww.tandfonline. com/https://doi.org/10.1080/19012276.2020.1727359.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the internal consistency, factor structure, and validity of the Leiden Index of Depression Sensitivity-Revised (LEIDS-R) and a recent revision of the LEIDS-R (LEIDS-RR) in Norway. The LEIDS-R is a self-report inventory measuring cognitive reactivity. Cognitive reactivity is defined as the relative ease with which negative thinking is activated by mild low mood and has been shown to be a strong predictor of relapse of depression. Hospital employees and psychology students (N = 240) completed the LEIDS-R and measures of depression, repetitive negative thinking, and mindfulness. The results showed that Cronbach’s alpha was equally high for both the LEIDS-R and LEIDS-RR total score (α = .92), indicating good internal consistency. Confirmatory factor analysis of the LEIDS-R suggested an acceptable model fit for the original first-order six-factor model. Confirmatory factor analyses of the LEIDS-RR suggested the best fit for a bifactor five-factor model. Correlational analyses showed positive associations of the LEIDS-R and LEIDS-RR scales with depression and repetitive negative thinking and negative relationships with mindfulness. It is concluded that the Norwegian versions of the LEIDS-R and LEIDS-RR appear to be both reliable and valid for future use

The Assessment of Forced Penetration: A Necessary and Further Step Toward Understanding Men’s Sexual Victimization and Women’s Perpetration

A unique form of sexual victimization that often goes undiscussed and, therefore, underassessed is that of being forced to penetrate another person (i.e., forced penetration). Due to forced penetration being a relatively novel addition to the definition of rape, there is a lack of assessment tools that identify forced penetration cases. Thus, the goal of this study was to assess the utility and validity of new items designed to assess forced penetration. More than 1,000 participants were recruited across three different studies to assess forced penetration victimization and perpetration. The rate of forced penetration victimization ranged from 4.51% to 10.62%. Among men who reported victimization of any type, 33.8% to 58.7% of victimized men reported experiencing forced penetration across the samples, suggesting this experience is common. All new and unique cases of sexual victimization identified by the forced penetration items were those of heterosexual men. These findings suggest that assessing for forced penetration would increase the reported prevalence rates of sexual victimization, particularly in heterosexual men (and correspondingly, rates of perpetration in women)

The Kondo Box: A Magnetic Impurity in an Ultrasmall Metallic Grain

We study the Kondo effect generated by a single magnetic impurity embedded in an ultrasmall metallic grain, to be called a ``Kondo box''. We find that the Kondo resonance is strongly affected when the mean level spacing in the grain becomes larger than the Kondo temperature, in a way that depends on the parity of the number of electrons on the grain. We show that the single-electron tunneling conductance through such a grain features Kondo-induced Fano-type resonances of measurable size, with an anomalous dependence on temperature and level spacing.Comment: 4 Latex pages, 4 figures, submitted to Phys.
