    « Parler d’une tombe anticipĂ©e » : l’existence posthume d’Auguste Comte

    « L’attitude posthume » revendiquĂ©e par son auteur Ă  partir de 1855 dĂ©finit un point de vue singulier sur la derniĂšre philosophie d’Auguste Comte. Cet article se propose d’en caractĂ©riser les principaux aspects. La thĂ©matique de la « tombe anticipĂ©e » s’inscrit en effet tout d’abord dans le cadre de la doctrine positiviste de l’HumanitĂ© comme continuitĂ© subjective ; elle opĂšre ensuite comme rĂšgle Ă©ditoriale en invitant Ă  reconfigurer la production comtienne Ă  l’aune d’une transmissibilitĂ© intĂ©grale ; elle autorise enfin Ă  questionner la nature de la relation philosophique, en la constituant essentiellement comme une relation de confiance. « Parler comme un mort » apparaĂźtrait alors comme un registre d’énonciation Ă©purĂ©, entiĂšrement soumis aux finalitĂ©s didactiques de la doctrine positive.The “posthumous standpoint” claimed by Auguste Comte from 1855 onwards defines a unique approach to his final philosophy. This article aims to identify some of its principal aspects. The theme of the “anticipated tomb” can first be linked to the context of the positivist doctrine of Humanity as a subjective continuity; it then becomes an editorial rule suggesting that Comte’s work can be reconfigured in the perspective of its transferability as an entity, finally, it allows to question the nature of the philosophical relation as one founded essentially on trust. “Speaking as someone dead” could thus appear as a register of refined statement, totally subjected to the didactic goals of the positivist doctrine

    Production of Superoxide Anions by Keratinocytes Initiates P. acnes-Induced Inflammation of the Skin

    Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the sebaceous follicles. Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), a gram-positive anareobic bacterium, plays a critical role in the development of these inflammatory lesions. This study aimed at determining whether reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced by keratinocytes upon P. acnes infection, dissecting the mechanism of this production, and investigating how this phenomenon integrates in the general inflammatory response induced by P. acnes. In our hands, ROS, and especially superoxide anions (O2‱−), were rapidly produced by keratinocytes upon stimulation by P. acnes surface proteins. In P. acnes-stimulated keratinocytes, O2‱− was produced by NAD(P)H oxidase through activation of the scavenger receptor CD36. O2‱− was dismuted by superoxide dismutase to form hydrogen peroxide which was further detoxified into water by the GSH/GPx system. In addition, P. acnes-induced O2‱− abrogated P. acnes growth and was involved in keratinocyte lysis through the combination of O2‱− with nitric oxide to form peroxynitrites. Finally, retinoic acid derivates, the most efficient anti-acneic drugs, prevent O2‱− production, IL-8 release and keratinocyte apoptosis, suggesting the relevance of this pathway in humans

    Os M. pretenderam traçar um quadro da HistĂłria da Alimentação, nĂŁo como um novo ramo epistemolĂłgico da disciplina, mas como um campo em desenvolvimento de prĂĄticas e atividades especializadas, incluindo pesquisa, formação, publicaçÔes, associaçÔes, encontros acadĂȘmicos, etc. Um breve relato das condiçÔes em que tal campo se assentou faz-se preceder de um panorama dos estudos de alimentação e temas correia tos, em geral, segundo cinco abardagens Ia biolĂłgica, a econĂŽmica, a social, a cultural e a filosĂłfica!, assim como da identificação das contribuiçÔes mais relevantes da Antropologia, Arqueologia, Sociologia e Geografia. A fim de comentar a multiforme e volumosa bibliografia histĂłrica, foi ela organizada segundo critĂ©rios morfolĂłgicos. A seguir, alguns tĂłpicos importantes mereceram tratamento Ă  parte: a fome, o alimento e o domĂ­nio religioso, as descobertas europĂ©ias e a difusĂŁo mundial de alimentos, gosto e gastronomia.     En dĂ©finissant la santĂ© humaine Ă  partir de l’idĂ©e « d’hygiĂšne cĂ©rĂ©brale », Comte cherche Ă  penser l’unitĂ© profonde de la littĂ©rature et de la mĂ©decine comme l’expression d’une mĂȘme vie, celle de l’humanitĂ©. Le positivisme propose ainsi une synthĂšse « politique » de la mĂ©decine qui, en s’opposant au scientisme naissant, associe dans une mĂȘme pratique le soin et la pĂ©dagogie, la connaissance biologique et la critique littĂ©raire. Positivism draws therefore a “political” synthesis of medicine, which, as it opposes to a rising scientism, bounds together care and pedagogy, biogical knowledge and critic’s skills. Thus appears a new conception of the the social place reserved to medicine : arbitrators of the conflict between body and mind, doctors have as well, in Comte’s system, to reconcile order and progress as antagonist historical forces
