Possibilistic Boolean games: strategic reasoning under incomplete information
Boolean games offer a compact alternative to normal-form games, by encoding the goal of each agent as a propositional formula. In this paper, we show how this framework can be naturally extended to model situations in which agents are uncertain about other agents' goals. We first use uncertainty measures from possibility theory to semantically define (solution concepts to) Boolean games with incomplete information. Then we present a syntactic characterization of these semantics, which can readily be implemented, and we characterize the computational complexity
Field induced anisotropic cooperativity in a magnetic colloidal glass
The translational dynamics in a repulsive colloidal glass-former is probed by
time-resolved X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy. In this dense dispersion
of charge-stabilized and magnetic nanoparticles, the interaction potential can
be tuned, from quasi-isotropic to anisotropic by applying an external magnetic
field. Structural and dynamical anisotropies are reported on interparticle
lengthscales associated with highly anisotropic cooperativity, almost two
orders of magnitude larger in the field direction than in the perpendicular
direction and in zero field
Complex structures and the Elie Cartan approach to the theory of spinors
Each isometric complex structure on a 2-dimensional euclidean space
corresponds to an identification of the Clifford algebra of with the
canonical anticommutation relation algebra for ( fermionic) degrees of
freedom. The simple spinors in the terminology of E.~Cartan or the pure spinors
in the one of C. Chevalley are the associated vacua. The corresponding states
are the Fock states (i.e. pure free states), therefore, none of the above

Ultra-low phase noise all-optical microwave generation setup based on commercial devices
In this paper, we present a very simple design based on commercial devices
for the all-optical generation of ultra-low phase noise microwave signals. A
commercial, fibered femtosecond laser is locked to a laser that is stabilized
to a commercial ULE Fabry-Perot cavity. The 10 GHz microwave signal extracted
from the femtosecond laser output exhibits a single sideband phase noise
at 1 Hz Fourier frequency, at
the level of the best value obtained with such "microwave photonics" laboratory
experiments \cite{Fortier2011}. Close-to-the-carrier ultra-low phase noise
microwave signals will now be available in laboratories outside the frequency

Geometric aspects of HF driven Langmuir turbulence in the ionosphere
International audienceThe geometric aspects of HF-generated Langmuir turbulence in the ionosphere and its detection by radars are theoretically discussed in a broad approach, including local modelling (damped and driven Zakharov system), basic parametric instabilities, polarization and strength of the driving electric field, and radar configurations. Selected examples of numerical results from the local model are presented and discussed in relation to recent experiments, with emphasis on recent experiments at the EISCAT facilities. Anisotropic aspects of the cavitation process in the magnetized plasma are exhibited. Basic processes of cascades and cavitation are by now well identified in these experiments, but a few problems of the detailed agreement between theory and experiments are pointed out
A Fintech Approach Towards Resolving the Young Adult Home Ownership Challenge
Housing prices globally remain very expensive for young adults while financial instruments to obtain them become more complicated, demanding, and discouraging, especially in the modern post global financial crisis (2007–2017). The way people acquire homes haven’t change over the last 100 years, maintaining the three classic and dominant alternatives which is either thorough mortgages, cash payments, or combination of these. Young adults have been underserved by financial institutions and their products have not yet met young adults’ conditions. This research has been directed to utilize today’s technology and contribute with innovative financing solutions that can addresses the young adults’ needs. The proposed Fintech approach presents the architecture of a technology-based platform whereby Co-sharing agreements between real estate developers and young adults can be created. Such agreements can be integrated into the financial institutions processes to efficiently address and serve this significant target group by delivering creative innovative financing alternatives
Observation of superspin glass state in magnetically textured ferrofluid (gamma-Fe2O3)
Magnetic properties in a magnetically textured ferrofluid made out of
interacting maghemite (gamma-Fe2O3) nanoparticles suspended in glycerin have
been investigated. Despite the loss of uniform distribution of anisotropy axes,
a superspin glass state exists at low temperature in a concentrated, textured
ferrofluid as in the case of its non-textured counterpart. The onset of
superspin glass state was verified from the sample's AC susceptibility. The
influence of the anisotropy axis orientation on the aging behavior in the
glassy states is also discussed
