Le standard du repos dans les villages estivaux apprécié par les estivants

    Get PDF

Comparison of the cross-platform mobile applications performance in 2D graphics processing

    Get PDF
The article presents a comparison of cross-platform frameworks in 2D graphics processing. The tests consisted in applying filters to 2D images, and then the image processing time and standard deviation were measured. The test will be conducted on the Huawei P8 and Samsung A50 phones. The comparison concerns two very popular cross-platform programming frameworks: Flutter and Xamarin

Evaluating the Efficacy of an Attachment-Informed Psychotherapeutic Parenting Program for Incarcerated Parents

    Get PDF
An attachment-based, psychotherapeutic parent education course was created for incarcerated mothers and fathers to improve their ability to provide positive parenting and a more stable home environment for their children. The current study assessed the effects of this parenting curriculum on parents’ tendencies to be abusive, their sense of efficacy and satisfaction as a parent, their psychological distress, and their knowledge of child development and positive child guidance strategies. Results of pre-post assessments showed a significant improvement in parents’ sense of efficacy and satisfaction in the parenting role; their knowledge, skills, and behavior as a parent; their understanding of child development; their knowledge of alternatives to using corporal punishment; establishing appropriate parent-child boundaries; and they were less likely to view their child’s independence as a threat. Females showed a significant decrease in distress symptoms. Results are discussed in terms of the critical need for effective, high-quality parent education to break the intergenerational cycle of poor parenting for this at-risk population

Media education in Poland - needs versus reality

    Get PDF
Media education should strive to shape an attitude of active creativity which ought to become a desired alternative for the passive way of experiencing the media. Therefore media education is a precious form of education, however, it is still imperfect and requires constructive changes. Meanwhile, in Polish education system there is no clear definition of media literacy, of what should be called media education and to what objectives that education should lead. The main goal of the research was the overview of the history of media education in Polish educational system and the practices for developing media education and media literacy in Poland, as well the teachers‘ attitudes towards media education and ways of developing media literacy among pupils. In order to collect empirical material, a survey was conducted among teachers from the Silesian Voivodship. The study involved 87 teachers. As well the analysis of content was used concerning strategic international and national documents, encompassing the points mentioned above. The best way to characterize the state of media education in Poland is to say that the policy makers, people who decide about its popularization in schools, prefer to be conservative about the whole concept

Viscomagnetoelastic Interactions in a Vortex Array in the Type–II Superconductor

The paper develops considerations on viscomagnetoelastic interactions in a vortex array in a type–II superconductor. It is well known that a magnetic field penetrates such a material along lines called vortices of a special structure. Each of them consists of a core of material in the normal state, i.e. a material in which Ohm’s law works and a surrounding where the supercurrent flows. The mean diameter of a core is called the coherence length. The penetration of the supercurrent outside the core exists in the London penetration depth. Since interactions among the vortices run with the help of the Lorenz force, the vortex field has elastic properties. Moreover, because of the normal state inside the vortex core also the viscosity of that field has been observed. The above situation occurs only between upper and lower magnetic field limits below the critical temperature regarding the phase diagram. The vortex field has a very interesting feature. In the vicinity of the lower magnetic field curve it possesses an ordered (quadratic or triangular) structure. Then going to the upper magnetic field limit that structure is losing its configuration behaving as a fluid. We assume smooth transition from ordered to disordered state althought it is much more complicated in nature. Following the above statements all the “material” coefficients characteristic for the vortex field are also dependent on the magnetic field and temperature. The main aim of the paper is a formulation of the stress – strain constitutive law consisting of the following features:• a coexistence of the ordered and disordered states,• the viscosity of the vortex field,• the dependence of the “material” coefficients related to the vortex field on the magnetic field. An application for YBCO ceramics that deals with the use of the proposed constitutive law in vortex field equations and results coming from that are presented. Numerical calculations concern wave propagation in depinned parallel vortex line field versus magnitude of the applied magnetic field

An experimental determination in Calspan Ludwieg tube of the base environment of the integrated space shuttle vehicle at simulated Mach 4.5 flight conditions (test IH5 of model 19-OTS)

A model test program was conducted to determine heat transfer and pressure distributions in the base region of the space shuttle vehicle during simulated launch trajectory conditions of Mach 4.5 and pressure altitudes between 90,000 and 210,000 feet. Model configurations with and without the solid propellant booster rockets were examined to duplicate pre- and post-staging vehicle geometries. Using short duration flow techniques, a tube wind tunnel provided supersonic flow over the model. Simultaneously, combustion generated exhaust products reproduced the gasdynamic and thermochemical structure of the main vehicle engine plumes. Heat transfer and pressure measurements were made at numerous locations on the base surfaces of the 19-OTS space shuttle model with high response instrumentation. In addition, measurements of base recovery temperature were made indirectly by using dual fine wire and resistance thermometers and by extrapolating heat transfer measurements
