Counseling for the Academically Gifted Children. The number of academically gifted children is quite high distributed in all areas. The academically gifted children will be benefecial for themselves and other people, if they can develop optimally. There are many academically gifted children who are succesful in their life; however we can find some who are in difficulty. They need counseling services. There are some important issues in counseling, especially for the academically gifted children, such as: (1) divergent thinker, (2) excitability, (3) sensitivity, (4) perceptiveness, (5) entelechy. (6) self-concept, (7) counseling with parents, and (8) underachievement. To help them face important issues, socialpersonal counseling, academic counseling, and career counseling are necessary. These three counseling approaches can be conducted simultaneously, depending on their needs. The models and strategies of counseling for the academically gifted children are therapeutic, preventive, and developmental models. The choice of models is strongely determined by the need of effective counseling, in order to achieve the optimal result. To establish the effective counseling, it is necessary that counseling services should be conducted by professional counselors. Keywords: counseling, academically gifted childre

Definitions and Concepts of Organizational Sustainability: A Literature Analysis

    Get PDF
This research paper provides a comprehensive literature review that thoroughly examines the definitions and different concepts of organizational sustainability. This paper also looks at how research gaps are addressed in the literature with a particular emphasis on issues of organizational sustainability. Overall, organizational sustainability, including issues and aspects related to sustainability, is discussed. Individual authors provide their perspectives on various aspects of organizational sustainability from their field research, case analysis, and creative search. It also includes a greater knowledge of how real economic activity concerns and political dynamics can inhibit decision-making related to operational or practical sustainability. Several sustainability viewpoints from around the world have provided a genuine mechanism for organizations to increase their financial success while minimizing their impact on the environment and society. This study urges that knowing an organization's ability to change and self-regulate on critical issues for long-term sustainability can help solve the socio-ecological dilemma. This study shows how firms approach sustainability and what fundamental issues still need to be resolved. The research has provided novel and unusual insights into the factors contributing to organizational sustainability. Additional value is generated by estimating progress toward the idea of organizational sustainability, identifying impediments, and analyzing various real-world examples of measures to enhance advancement toward that concept

Liberal principles of Justice and Emerging Trend of Economic Liberalization: Lesson from Rawlsian Scheme of Distributive Justice

We are living in the age of so-called economic liberalization. Markets are expanding andStates are voluntarily limiting their legitimate right as the only redistributing authority of resources. The money market has globalized in such a manner that state has almost lost itscapacity to hold its redistributive function. Economic liberalization is one of the most dominatingpolicy frame work which is to be pursued and institutionally concretized in many of thepost-colonial societies as the legitimate and only viable alternative mechanism to regulatethe distribution of resources. It has been claimed that the market is relatively far more justmechanism to distribute the legitimate share of recourses under the principle of efficiency. Itis very interesting to note that the principle of efficiency has been presented in post-colonialsocieties as the only way to realize the principle of freedom. Because any attempt to counterthe so-called policy of economic liberalization is presented as anti-liberal. However in Rawlsianframe work the principle of freedom is prior to the principle of efficiency. In this article itwill be argued that in liberal conception of justice expounded by Rawls, the principle of libertyis prior to the principle of efficiency, and the distribution of resources through the myth ofefficient-market-mechanism i.e. independent of State intervention and governance as redistributiveauthority is against the principle of liberty according to Rawls. Thus the so calledeconomic liberalization and principle of liberty are mutually incompatible. Keywords: Distribution of Resources, Economic-liberalization, Liberalism, Market, Rawls, State

Restraint of polygamy in jurisprudence and law: A Comparative study

    Get PDF
Polygamy is a subject addressed in Sharia that has been established by the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah. Islamic jurists have debated about this subject in terms of its obligation, permissibility and revocability. To enjoy this right, a man has to be obligated to the legal controls, such that he should be able to maintain more than a wife. Moreover, this person is to take into account social, economic, psychological and health-related aspects of his life and make sure that he is able to maintain justice between all his wives. Furthermore, the man must have no more than four wives, and must avoid marring two or more relatives at the same time. If a man is obligated to these legal controls, his behavior will be regarded as legitimate and consequently, he will achieve the legal objectives, among which are achieving social balance, and solving problems related to celibacy, divorced women, and widows. Illustrating these advantages should not imply that there is no damage accompanying polygyny. Rather, the damage of polygyny is insignificant compared to the objectives achieved. The present study aims to investigate the degree to which the guardian is legitimated to interfere, as a result of his authority, in the obligation of the husband to the legal controls related to polygyny. This interference by the wise lawgiver is to ensure that this polygyny has achieved its intended objectives. If the guardian finds out that this permissible act is accompanied by damage, he must, employing his authority, interfere and circumscribe this act. This interference adheres to legal controls. In other words, the wise lawgiver legitimized polygyny for significant purposes. However, if the man is not obligated to the legal controls, this will be accompanied by drawbacks. Therefore, the guardian will interfere in order to ensure that these controls are obligated and thus, avert the aforesaid drawbacks and achieve the objectives of this legislationā€“ā€“which are significant at all times and in all places. To achieve the objective of the present research, the inductive, comparative method was employed. A number of results were revealed in the present study, the paramount of which are that the Islamic law aims to achieve the goals of mankind. Hence, if the guardian figures out that there is a harm accompanying a permissible act, he is permitted to interfere in accordance with the legal controls that are determined by jurists and aim to benefit the person and society

CTGF is a central mediator of tissue remodeling and fibrosis and its inhibition can reverse the process of fibrosis

    Get PDF
CTGF is a secreted matricellular protein with very complex biology. It has been shown to modulate many signaling pathways leading to cell adhesion and migration, angiogenesis, myofibroblast activation, and extracellular matrix deposition and remodeling, which together lead to tissue remodeling and fibrosis. It has been reported in the literature that inhibition of CTGF expression by siRNA prevents CCl4-induced liver fibrosis and can reverse fibrosis when administered after significant collagen deposition is observed. A monoclonal antibody to CTGF that is currently in clinical development (FG-3019) has demonstrated the ability to reverse vascular stiffening and improve cardiac function in a rat model of diabetic complications. FG-3019 has also exhibited activity in a murine radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis model. When FG-3019 was administered to mice after a significant radiation-induced increase in lung density could be observed by CT imaging, the density of the lungs was observed to decrease over the period during which the antibody was administered and to remain stable after therapy had ceased. When considered together, these data indicate that inhibition of CTGF can prevent and reverse the process of fibrosis
