Predicación y persuasión : Vicente Ferrer en Castilla, 1411-1412

Este artículo estudia la interacción entre predicador y público para explicar los mecanismos a través de los cuales la predicación de Vicente Ferrer en Castilla (1411-1412) surtió efecto centrándose, en particular, sobre su mensaje antisemita. Considera la predicación como un acto de comunicación en el que el papel del predicador, y más todavía un predicador carismático como Ferrer, y público tienen tanta importancia como el propio sermón. Concluye proponiendo un modelo de efectividad del sermón que prima el papel del público sobre predicador y sermón.This article studies the interaction between preacher and audience in order to explain the way in which preaching by Vincent Ferrer in Castile (1411-1412) was successful, particularly his anti-Semitic message. It regards preaching as an act of communication in which the role of preacher, and even more so a charismatic preacher such as Ferrer, and audience have as much importance as the sermon itself. It concludes by proposing a model for the effectiveness of the sermon that gives prominence to the role of the audience above that of preacher and sermon

It departs from Octavio Paz's essay La llama doble, in particular, the difference between eroticism and love, and the acknowledgement of a dark and destructive side within sexual desire. It concludes that desire is the main driving force of the plot in Celestina and that its destructive side is revealed in the violence inherent to the relationship between Calisto and Melibea
