From Haiti to the ESL Class: Working with Adult Haitian ESL Learners in the US

This project provides the person unfamiliar with Haiti and its inhabitants with some background information on the country - politically, economically, socially. It also gives a perspective on why Haitians leave Haiti to come to the US, and the stages they must go through in order to do so. Teachers are given some insight into what to expect from their students in an ESL class, given their background and experiences. Finally, factual information is provided on Haiti - i.e. holidays, major cities, etc. - for the interest of the reader. It also serves to help the teacher make the ESL class more relevant to the student

ANALISIS TORSI PADA TRAINER SISTEM STARTER

Analisis sistem starter bertujuan untuk menganalisis kondisi motor starter pada saat diberikan beban bervariasi. Sistem kerja motor starter ini membutuhkan suatu rangkaian untuk menyalakan motor starter yang berfungsi untuk menggerakkan flywheel yang nantinya diberikan beban. Dari motor starter bisa didapat besarnya torsi mekanik. Untuk itu desain yang dibuat diberikan beban yang bervariasi dengan menguji dari beban terkecil, sedang hingga terbesar. Metode rekayasa yang akan dilakukan oleh peneliti dalam upaya mendesain trainer analisis torsi pada sistem starter dimulai dari merencanakan, merancang dan membuat trainer tersebut, menguji coba trainer, menganalisis hasil dari uji coba trainer. Analisis torsi pada trainer sistem starter umumnya digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dengan diberikan beban agar mengetahui torsi yang dihasilkan pada motor starter tersebut. Setelah membuat desain trainer analisis sistem starter ini, dilanjutkan dengan uji coba untuk mengetahui karakteristik motor starter. Hasil pengujian pada trainer motor starter saat tidak menggunakan beban dan menggunakan beban dari 0,5 kg, 1kg, 1,5 kg, 2kg torsi yang dihasilkan pada motor starter jika beban semakin berat maka torsi yang dihasilkan motor starter tersebut juga akan semakin besar
