    Quantum chaos in the mesoscopic device for the Josephson flux qubit

    We show that the three-junction SQUID device designed for the Josephson flux qubit can be used to study quantum chaos when operated at high energies. In the parameter region where the system is classically chaotic we analyze the spectral statistics. The nearest neighbor distributions P(s)P(s) are well fitted by the Berry Robnik theory employing as free parameters the pure classical measures of the chaotic and regular regions of phase space in the different energy regions. The phase space representation of the wave functions is obtained via the Husimi distributions and the localization of the states on classical structures is analyzed.Comment: Final version, to be published in Phys.     Workflow and tools to track and visualize behavioural data from a Virtual Reality environment using a lightweight GIS

    [EN] Evaluating user behaviour in Virtual Reality is a challenge for every re-searcher involved in designing and executing experiments in immersive envi-ronments. Behavioural information could lead to relevant findings in pres-ence, engagement or, for example, the mood of the player during a VR ex-perience. Saving this kind of information and exploding it in an appropriateway could lead researchers or even game designers to identify relevant be-havioural patterns or correlations. In this article, we are proposing a simple,replicable workflow and a set of scripted tools in order to acquire user¿s navi-gational data and visualize it using the inherent capabilities of a GeographicInformation System. Our workflow goes from data acquisition in Unity3Dwith C to the final representation in a map using Leaflet, an open-sourceGIS JavaScript based, passing through the pre-processing of XML files.     New trends in biotechnological processes to increase the environmental protection

    A sustainable development can be achieved by deepening into more effective and eco-friendly products and technologies. From this point of view, the development of biotechnological processes to increase the environmental protection could be included in the best available techniques reference documents, the so-called BREFs, that cover, as far as practicable, the industrial activities to achieve an integrated pollution prevention and control. Members of the European Union are required to take these documents into account when determining the best available techniques, generally or in specific cases under the European Commission Directives. In order to include biotechnological processes into the BREFs, for example, for obtaining food and pharmaceutical additives, these products have to be cost competitive with those synthesized by chemical ways. Biotechnological processes are advantageous compared to the chemical ones since various metabolites can be obtained simultaneously in the same process, and these metabolites are more eco-friendly than their chemical counterparts. Additionally, this feature also matches the increasing demand of consumers for natural products, which has intensified the biotechnological production of natural additives. This special issue reports advances in the use of biotechnological processes for the treatment of contaminated soil or water as well as the revalorization of agroindustrial residues through the production of valuable metabolites such as biosurfactants or antioxidants, with applications in biomedicine, food industry, pharmaceutical industry, or environmental bioremediation

    Working document presented in WGCATCH.Results of Lepidorhombus spp. from the Spanish onshore sampling programme under the Data Collection Framework (2009-2014) are presented. Sampling covers two species (Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis and Lepidorhombus boscii) in ICES Subarea VI, VII, Divisions VIIIabd and Divisions VIIIc-IXa. Fishery description shows the importance of five métiers for these species and the relevance of a small group of ports. A description of the sampling level, sampling design and sampling procedures in relation to landing practices are presented, as well as a brief discussion about further developments to improve the sampling

During the test phase, the test team has to assure the quality of the system and the concordance with the initial requirements of the system. The model driven paradigm is offering suitable results in some areas and the test phase could be one of them.     Diversity and abundance of weed seeds in cereal crop grain in Western Andalusia, South Spain

    Se analizó la presencia de semillas de malas hierbas en muestras de la cosecha de cereal de 2013 correspondientes a 200 campos de las provincias de Huelva y Sevilla. Se identificaron 91 especies de las que 29 mostraron una frecuencia de presencia de al menos el 5%. La especie más frecuente (74%) y abundante fue “Lolium rigidum”. Las especies arvenses del género “Phalaris” también fueron muy frecuentes (66-32%). Especies con frecuencia superior al 20% fueron “Polygonum aviculare”, “Convolvulus arvensis”, “Chrysanthemum coronarium”, “Pulicaria paludosa” y “Centaurea diluta”. En comparación con estudios previos referidos al conjunto del área cerealista española, se observó una frecuencia similar de las especies dominantes “L. rigidum” y “P. aviculare” y una frecuencia muy superior de “Phalaris spp.” En sentido contrario, la frecuencia de especies segetales especialistas fue muy inferior.We examined the weed seeds present in crop grain samples from 2013 from across 200 cereal fields in Huelva and Seville provinces, Andalusia, South-western Spain. Ninety-one weed species were identified of which 29 species were present in at least 5% of samples. “Lolium rigidum” was the most frequent (74%) and abundant species.     El surco de desarrollo radicular es una anomalía dentaria de origen embriológico presente en el 8,5% de la población que se localiza principalmente en la cara palatina de los incisivos laterales superiores. Este surco se origina en la fosa central y atravesando el cíngulo se dirige hacia el ápice, siendo su longitud variable. A través de él, los microorganismos penetran en el ligamento periodontal, causando una destrucción ósea localizada. Clínicamente los dientes afectados por esta anomalía pueden ser asintomáticos o bien presentar patología periodontal, pulpitis o necrosis pulpar por afectación secundaria de la pulpa.
