Partial Reconfiguration in the Field of Logic Controllers Design
The paper presents method for logic controllers multi context implementation by means of partial reconfiguration. The UML state machine diagram specifies the behaviour of the logic controller. Multi context functionality is specified at the specification level as variants of the composite state. Each composite state, both orthogonal or compositional, describes specific functional requirement of the control process. The functional decomposition provided by composite states is required by the dynamic partial reconfiguration flow. The state machines specified by UML state machine diagrams are transformed into hierarchical configurable Petri nets (HCfgPN). HCfgPN are a Petri nets variant with the direct support of the exceptions handling mechanism. The paper presents placesoriented method for HCfgPN description in Verilog language. In the paper proposed methodology was illustrated by means of simple industrial control process
Kiedy nastąpi Armageddon? W 2060, 2100, a może był w 1957?
W „Kwartalniku Nauk o Przedsiębiorstwie” w numerze 1/18/2011 r. został opublikowany artykuł Alfreda Biecia: Gospodarka w długookresowej perspektywie. Zdaniem autora zaproponowana w nim analiza długookresowych trendów rozwoju gospodarczego, wykorzystująca cykle Kondratiewa, nie pozwala na stwierdzenie kiedy wzrost gospodarczy spadnie do zera, a następnie PKB zacznie maleć
Redistribution with Performance Pay
Half of the jobs in the U.S. feature pay-for-performance. We study nonlinear income taxation in a model where such contracts arise in private labor markets that are
constrained by moral hazard frictions. We derive novel formulas for the incidence of
arbitrarily nonlinear reforms of any given tax code on both the mean of earnings and
their sensitivity to performance. We show theoretically and quantitatively that, follow-
ing an increase in tax progressivity, the higher performance-sensitivity caused by the
crowding-out of insurance provided by firms is almost fully offset by a countervailing
performance-pay effect driven by labor supply responses. As a result, earnings risk
is hardly affected by policy. We then turn to the normative analysis of a government
that levies taxes and transfers to redistribute income across workers with different levels of uninsurable productivity. We find that setting taxes without accounting for the endogeneity of private insurance is close to optimal. Thus, the common concern that standard models of taxation underestimate the cost of redistribution is, in the context of performance-based compensation, overblown
Business Models of Internet Companies and Types of Goods Offered
The article presents the relations between the business models of internet companies operating in the B2C market and the types of goods they offer (i.e. private, club, common, and public goods). The analysis shows that internet companies provide all four types of goods distinguished in the theory of economics

Reklama w metawersum. Perspektywa rozwoju internetu i reklamy internetowej
‘The Metaverse’ is a collective term for virtual worlds that enable users to interact, build communities, and provide entertainment. The article presents advertising in the Metaverse from the perspective of the stages of Internet development, online advertising, and the application of blockchain technology in advertising. The research method used included literature reviews and in-depth interviews with representatives of companies involved in online advertising, metaverse advertising, and blockchain technology. The findings indicate that advertising in the Metaverse shares many characteristics with early-stage Internet advertising. However, according to the respondents, advertising in the metaverse is characterized by greater immersiveness, a focus on long-term brand building, and is associated with greater risks related to the context of its display. Typical advertisers in the Metaverse are large companies with an established brand operating in the individual consumer market.
Development of Targeted Alpha Particle Therapy for Solid Tumors
Abstract: Targeted alpha-particle therapy (TAT) aims to selectively deliver radionuclides emitting α-particles (cytotoxic payload) to tumors by chelation to monoclonal antibodies, peptides or small molecules that recognize tumor-associated antigens or cell-surface receptors. Because of the high linear energy transfer (LET) and short range of alpha (α) particles in tissue, cancer cells can be significantly damaged while causing minimal toxicity to surrounding healthy cells. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated the remarkable efficacy of TAT in the treatment of metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer. In this comprehensive review, we discuss the current consensus regarding the properties of the α-particle-emitting radionuclides that are potentially relevant for use in the clinic; the TAT-mediated mechanisms responsible for cell death; the different classes of targeting moieties and radiometal chelators available for TAT development; current approaches to calculating radiation dosimetry for TATs; and lead optimization via medicinal chemistry to improve the TAT radiopharmaceutical properties. We have also summarized the use of TATs in pre-clinical and clinical studies to dat
MEE-DBD Plasma Actuator Effect on Aerodynamics of a NACA0015 Aerofoil: Separation and 3D Wake
© 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG. Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuators have received considerable attention by many researchers for various flow control applications. Having no moving parts, being light-weight, easily manufacturable, and their ability to respond almost instantly are amongst the advantages which has made them a popular flow control device especially for application on aircraft wings. The new configuration of DBDs which uses multiple encapsulated electrodes (MEE) has been shown to produce a superior and more desirable performance over the standard actuator design. The objective of the current study is to examine the effect of this new actuator configuration on the aerodynamic performance of an aerofoil under leading edge separation and wake interaction conditions. The plasma actuator is placed at the leading edge of a symmetric NACA 0015 aerofoil which corresponds to the location of the leading edge slat. The aerofoil is operated in a chord Reynolds number of 0.2×106. Surface pressure measurements along with the mean velocity profile of the wake using pitot measurements are used to determine the lift and drag coefficients, respectively. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) is also utilised to visualise and quantify the induced flow field. The results show improvement in aerodynamic performances of aerofoil under leading edge separation and also facing the wake region
