Multisymplectic formulation of vielbein gravity. De Donder-Weyl formulation, Hamiltonian (n-1)-forms
We consider the De Donder-Weyl (DW) Hamiltonian formulation of the Palatini
action of vielbein gravity formulated in terms of the solder form and spin
connection, which are treated as independent variables. The basic geometrical
constructions necessary for the DW Hamiltonian theory of vielbein gravity are
presented. We reproduce the DW Hamilton equations in the multisymplectic and
pre-multisymplectic formulations. We also give basic examples of Hamiltonian
(n-1)-forms and related Poisson brackets.Comment: 47 pages, 0 figure v4 Minor corrections. (notations more light
MULTISYMPLECTIC GRAVITY: Multisymplectic Geometry and Classical Field Theory
This thesis is contributed to the topic of modern Mathematical Physics differential Geometry in General Relativity, more exactly, to a study of the multisymplectic geometry approach in formulation of various examples of gauge theories, including theory of gravitation. The multisymplectic geometry provides a geometrical framework to formulate classical field theory in a coordinate free manner on arbitrary space-time manifold. Main idea is to construct a Hamiltonian description of classical fields theory compatible with, Principles of special and general relativity and string theories and more generally any effort towards understanding gravitation. Since space¬time should merge out from the dynamics. We need a description without any space-time/field splitting a priori. There is no space-time structure given a priori. Space-time coordinates should merge out from the analysis of what are the observable quantities and from the dynamics.
Multisymplectic geometry and the notion of observables
International audienceThis note provides an overview of the notion of observable within the setting of multisymplectic geometry. We essentially follow the ideas described by F. HĂ©lein and J. Kouneiher [17] [18] [19] and in particular in keeping with the approach developed in [16]. The following discussion should be considered as a synthesis of the principal motives and results presented in those writings
Espaces-temps courbes par cristallisation de fibrés liquides
International audienceMotivated by the search for a Hamiltonian formulation of Einstein equations of gravity which depends in a minimal way on choices of coordinates, nor on a choice of gauge, we develop a multisymplectic formulation on the total space of the principal bundle of orthonormal frames on the 4-dimensional space-time. This leads quite naturally to a new theory which takes place on 10-dimensional manifolds. The fields are pairs of ((α,ω),ϖ)((α,ω),ϖ) , where (α,ω)(α,ω) is a 1-form with coefficients in the Lie algebra of the Poincaré group and ϖϖ is an 8-form with coefficients in the dual of this Lie algebra. The dynamical equations derive from a simple variational principle and imply that the 10-dimensional manifold looks locally like the total space of a fiber bundle over a 4-dimensional base manifold. Moreover this base manifold inherits a metric and a connection which are solutions of a system of Einstein–Cartan equations
