Impact assessment of communicating seasonal climate forecasts in Kaffrine, Diourbel, Louga, Thies and Fatick (Niakhar) regions in Senegal: Final Report for CCAFS West Africa Regional Program
Climate information is now an agricultural input just like seeds, fertilizers or equipment which are at the basis of production. In a nutshell, this is what emerges from this assessment report on the CGIAR Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) on the transmission of climate information (CI) and relevant agricultural advice to farmers in Kaffrine, Diourbel, Thies, Louga and Fatick administrative regions. Through this project, CCAFS seeks to contribute to improving the resilience of rural people to climate change by mainstreaming climate information more adequately in the planning and implementation of development activities.
Thanks to the involvement of the network of community rural radio stations (URAC), CCAFS estimates that two million people have had access to climate information (CI), have used it in whole or in part, and that this has had an impact on their farming practices
Quantum Thetas on Noncommutative T^4 from Embeddings into Lattice
In this paper we investigate the theta vector and quantum theta function over
noncommutative T^4 from the embedding of R x Z^2. Manin has constructed the
quantum theta functions from the lattice embedding into vector space (x finite
group). We extend Manin's construction of the quantum theta function to the
embedding of vector space x lattice case. We find that the holomorphic theta
vector exists only over the vector space part of the embedding, and over the
lattice part we can only impose the condition for Schwartz function. The
quantum theta function built on this partial theta vector satisfies the
requirement of the quantum theta function. However, two subsequent quantum
translations from the embedding into the lattice part are non-additive,
contrary to the additivity of those from the vector space part.Comment: 20 pages, LaTeX, version to appear in J. Phys.
The influence of the thickness of the Cds emitter layer on the performance of a CIGS solar cell with acceptor defects
In this work, we simulated a solar cell based on CIGS with simple default acceptor, using software (SCAPS) version 3.302 in order to study certain parameters. In particular, we have varied the thickness of the CdS emitter (0.05 mum, 0.04 mum and 0.03 mum) to study its influence on the performance of the cell. We were able to record that the energy efficiency increased from 16.50% for a thickness of 0.05 mum of the emitter to 16.87% for a thickness of 0.03 mum of the emitter. We also noted an improvement in other parameters, such as the form factor from FF = 79.81% to 80.10%, with the decrease in the thickness of the CdS. And from the Nyquist diagram, we also determined parameters like the series resistance to get an idea on the equivalent electrical circuit of the studied cell
