Plantas Medicinales: De Falacia Sanitaria a Medicamento del Futuro

This contribution is a brief review of the prohibition of psychoactive substances, mainly of medicinal plants at an international level, finding that the westernization of knowledge presents one of the obstacles when applying ancestral knowledge about herbal medicines. In addition, it looks at the intersections between the fourth industrial revolution, the use of psychedelics and mental health. Keywords: Psychedelics, Mental Health, Human Rights. La matemática como herramienta para abordar problemas

Este trabajo propone una estrategia de enseñanza que pone énfasis en los vínculos que existen entre la matemática y el mundo real. Las diferentes unidades del programa de la asignatura, se presentan como herramientas aptas para resolver problemas cotidianos, ya que se estima que este acercamiento es una buena motivación, tanto para los estudiantes bien preparados, como para los que presentan deficiencias. Se intenta además construir procesos de simbolización y abstracción, necesarios para acceder a contenidos más complejos, los que serán de utilidad para encarar y resolver nuevos problemas. Se promueve que el estudiante se acerque a los diferentes problemas planteados en forma gráfica, numérica y simbólica

Los medios de comunicación, son un pilar fundamental dentro de la construcción de sentidos e imaginario común de la sociedad, que contextualizan sucesos o acontecimientos que se consideran fundamentales y de principal trascendencia para la difusión, siendo capaces de influir, en el pensamiento, en la vida e ideología de un público objetivo, ejerciendo influencia sobre la opinión pública. Los medios son la herramienta de difusión por excelencia, son la fuente primaria de información que se considera verificable y transparente. Dentro de los medios de comunicación e información, surgen distintas formas de informar. La prensa escrita, es uno de los medios que tiene como deber de contar con responsabilidad y veracidad sobre hechos de interés social y coyuntural. Es importante mencionar que los medios, ya sean públicos, privados y comunitarios, tienen intereses individuales que busca la aceptación y réplica de una postura a la sociedad. Por ello, la presente investigación tiene como propósito hacer una comparación entre dos medios de comunicación, a partir de un estudio de caso, sobre el mismo tema en un periodo de tiempo determinado, caso que tiene gran importancia en el territorio nacional, comprobando así distintas perspectivas que pueden ser introducidas al lector o seguidor del medio.Media is a fundamental pillar in the construction of senses and common imaginary of society, which contextualize events or incidents that are considered fundamental and a priority to reach a global diffusion, being able to influence, in the thought, in the life and ideology of a target audience. creating an influence within public opinion The media are the diffusion tool par excellence, they are the primary source of information that is considered verifiable and transparent. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to make a comparison between two media outlets, based on a case study, on the same topic in a concrete period of time , a case that is of great importance in the national territory, verifying different perspectives that can be introduced to the reader or a follower of the media

Maximizing the statistical diversity of an ensemble of bred vectors by using the geometric norm

It is shown that the choice of the norm has a great impact on the construction of ensembles of bred vectors. The geometric norm maximizes (in comparison with other norms such as the Euclidean one) the statistical diversity of the ensemble while at the same time it enhances the growth rate of the bred vector and its projection on the linearly most unstable direction (i.e., the Lyapunov vector). The geometric norm is also optimal in providing the least fluctuating ensemble dimension among all the spectrum of norms studied. The results are exemplified with numerical integrations of a toy model of the atmosphere (the Lorenz-96 model), but these findings are expected to be generic for spatially extended chaotic systems.D.P. acknowledges support by CSIC under the Junta de Ampliación de Estudios Programme (JAE-Doc). Discrete Lagrange-d'Alembert-Poincaré equations for Euler's disk

Nonholonomic systems are described by the Lagrange-d’Alembert principle. The presence of symmetry leads to a reduced d’Alembert principle and to the Lagrange-d’Alembert-Poincaré equations. First, we briefly recall from previous works how to obtain these reduced equations for the case of a thick disk rolling on a rough surface using a three-dimensional abelian group of symmetries. The main results of the present paper are the calculation of the discrete Lagrange-d’Alembert-Poincaré equations for an Euler’s disk and the numerical simulation of a trajectory and its energy behavior.Fil: Campo, Cédric M.. Morphological, molecular and histopathological characterization of Plagiorhynchus crassicollis (Acanthocephala: Plagiorhynchidae) from a neotropical shorebird in Patagonia, Argentina

In this work we report Plagiorhynchus (Plagiorhynchus) crassicollis from Patagonia, Argentina. Specimens were collected from the small intestine of a charadriid shorebird with Neotropical distribution, the Two-banded Plover (Charadrius falklandicus). Both morphological and molecular characterization, plus pathological aspect of this species is provided. Plagiorhynchus (Plagiorhynchus) crassicollis is characterized by having a proboscis with 18–20 longitudinal rows of hooks and 11–14 hooks per row. Sequences of the small subunit (SSU) and large subunit (LSU) of the nuclear ribosomal DNA were obtained and compared with other sequences available in GenBank. Phylogenetic analyses inferred with each molecular marker consistently showed that P. (P.) crassicollis is sister taxa to Plagiorhynchus (Plagiorhynchus) aznari, a parasite of the long-billed curlew (Numenius americanus) from northern Mexico. Pathologic findings associated with the parasites include ulcerative enteritis, granulomatous inflammation, diffuse lymphocytic infiltration, serositis, and peritonitis. This record expands the host and geographical record of P. (P.) crassicollis, provide baseline information on its pathological aspects, and represents the first molecular characterization of P. crassicollis in the Neotropics.Fil: Capasso, Sofía Carolina. Architecture - Behaviour - Properties Relationship In Star-Shaped MPA-PMMA And MPA-PS Hyper-Branched Copolymers

The molecular architecture of polymers is a crucial feature in the moment of think the relationship between properties and applications. The same polymer can present important differences according to its architecture and leads to different possible applications. In this paper, we describe the well preparation of hyperbranched copolymers based on bis (HydroxylMethyl) propionic acid polyester (MPA). The co-monomers introduced via atom transfer radical polymerization were methyl methacrylate (MMA) and styrene (St). In order to study the effect of confinement, linear PMMA and PSt have been prepared, and moreover different levels of branching of each polymer were prepared. The synthesised star PMPAPMMA and PMPA-PSt copolymers have been characterized and identified by infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Thermal transitions in solid state were studied using differential scanning calorimetry, and the thermal stability was evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis. Finally, solution properties have been evaluated thought Dynamic Light Scattering. Our results, obtained by a meticulous and systematic comparative study, showed a clear tendency between architectural level and thermal properties.
