Tracking moving optima using Kalman-based predictions
The dynamic optimization problem concerns finding an optimum in a changing environment. In the field of evolutionary algorithms, this implies dealing with a timechanging fitness landscape. In this paper we compare different techniques for integrating motion information into an evolutionary algorithm, in the case it has to follow a time-changing optimum, under the assumption that the changes follow a nonrandom law. Such a law can be estimated in order to improve the optimum tracking capabilities of the algorithm. In particular, we will focus on first order dynamical laws to track moving objects. A vision-based tracking robotic application is used as testbed for experimental comparison

A Formal Definition of Perfect Bayesian Equilibrium for Extensive Games
Often, perfect bayesian equilibrium is loosely defined by stating that players should be sequentially rational given some beliefs in which Bayes rule is applied “whenever possible”. We show that there are games in which it is not clear what “whenever possible” means. Then, we provide a simple definition of perfect bayesian equilibrium for general extensive games that refines both weak perfect equilibrium and subgame perfect equilibrium.non-cooperative game theory, equilibrium concepts, perfect bayesian, Bayes rule.
Uniform Folk Theorems in Repeated Anonymous Random Matching Games
We study infinitely repeated anonymous random matching games played by communities of players, who only observe the outcomes of their own matches. It is well known that cooperation can be sustained in equilibrium for the prisoner’s dilemma (PD) through grim trigger strategies. Little is known about games beyond the PD. We study a new equilibrium concept, strongly uniform equilibrium (SUE, which refines the notion of uniform equilibrium (UE) and has additional properties such as a strong version of (approximate) sequential rationality. We
establish folk theorems for general games and arbitrary number of communities. Interestingly, the equilibrium strategies we construct are easy to play. We extend the results to a setting with imperfect private monitoring, for the case of two communities. We also show that it is possible for some players to get equilibrium payoffs that are outside the set of individually rational and
feasible payoffs of the stage game. In particular, for the PD we derive a bound on the number of “free-riders” that can be sustained in society. A by-product of our analysis is an important result relating uniform equilibrium and strongly uniform equilibria: we show that, in general repeated
games with finite players, actions, and signals, the set of UE and SUE payoffs coincide

Effects of high summer temperatures on mortality in 50 Spanish cities.
BACKGROUND: Periods of high temperature have been widely found to be associated with excess mortality but with variable relationships in different cities. How these specifics depend on climatic and other characteristics of cities is not well understood. We assess summer temperature-mortality relationships using data from 50 provincial capitals in Spain, during the period 1990-2004. METHODS: Poisson time series regression analyses were applied to daily temperature and mortality data, adjusting for potential confounding seasonal factors. Associations of heat with mortality were summarised for each city as the risk increments at the 99th compared to the 90th percentiles of the whole-year temperature distributions, as predicted from spline curves. RESULTS: Risk increments averaged 14.6% between both centiles, or 3.3% per 1 Celsius degree. Although risk increments varied substantially between cities, the range of temperature from the 90th to 99th centile was the only characteristic independently significantly associated with them. The heat increment did not depend on other city climatic, socio-demographic and geographic determinants. CONCLUSIONS: Cities in Spain are partially adapted to high mean summer temperatures but not to high variation in summer temperatures
Exploring Accelerating Hairy Black Holes in Dimensions: The Asymptotically Locally Anti-de Sitter Class and its Holography
In the realm of lower-dimensional accelerating spacetimes, it is
well-established that the presence of domain walls, which are co-dimension one
topological defects, is a necessary condition for their construction. We expand
the geometric framework by adding a conformally coupled scalar field. This
endeavor leads to the identification of several new families of
three-dimensional accelerating spacetimes with asymptotically locally anti-de
Sitter (AdS) behavior. Notably, one of these solutions showcases a hairy
generalization of the accelerating BTZ black hole. This solution is constructed
at both slow and rapid phases of acceleration, and its connection with
established vacuum spacetime models is explicitly elucidated. The inclusion of
the scalar field imparts a non-constant Ricci curvature to the domain wall,
thereby rendering these configurations particularly suitable for the
construction of two-dimensional quantum black holes. To establish a well-posed
variational principle in the presence of the domain wall, two essential steps
are undertaken. First, we extend the conventional renormalized AdS action
to accommodate the presence of the scalar field. Second, to establish a
well-posed variational principle, we extend the renormalized AdS action to
include the scalar field and incorporate the Gibbons--Hawking--York term for
internal boundaries and domain wall tension. We engage in holographic
computations, thereby determining the explicit form of the holographic stress
tensor. In this context, the stress tensor can be expressed as that of a
perfect fluid situated on a curved background. Additionally, it paves the road
to ascertain the spacetime mass. Finally, we close by demonstrating the
existence of three-dimensional accelerating spacetimes with asymptotically
locally flat and asymptotically locally de Sitter geometries, particularly
those embodying black holes.Comment: 45 pages, 17 figures, 3 table
Current Panorama of Dental Caries
The possibility of decreasing the risk of developing caries from the sort of diet is being tried consulting an internet database created by expert dentistsDental caries is a dynamical, multifactorial, commonly chronical process that affects one or several zones on the tooth surface. In 2012, WHO reported that 60-90% of the children and almost 100% of the adults in the world had dental caries. In Mexico, the System of Epidemiological Monitoring of Oral Pathologies (2015) reported that in a number of states, 93.2% of the population had dental caries. This review stresses that at present, additional to the classic factors involved in the etiology of dental caries, the participation of socioeconomic, educational, physiological factors as well genetic predisposition are considered; also, its association with systemic diseases, type 2 diabetes, for example, and with serum levels of iron and ferritin in children. Regarding diagnosis, the determination of serum iron level is considered, as well as the use of Diagnodent and digital infrared transilluminator. For the treatment of dental caries, antimicrobial photodynamical therapy, ozone therapy and peptide P11-4are proposed. Nowadays, in order to prevent caries in child population, the application of the Basic Research Factors Questionnaire (BRFQ) is proposed.COMECY
