High-t Diffraction at HERA
The double dissociation photoproduction cross section for the process gamma p
-> XY, in which the systems X and Y are separated by a large rapidity gap, is
measured at large 4-momentum transfer squared |t| > 20 GeV^2 by the H1
Collaboration at HERA. This measurement provides for the first time a direct

Prospects for CP-violation searches in the future experiment with RF-separated K+/- beam at U-70
The first description of the experimental program "OKA" with RF-separated
K+/- beam at Protvino U-70 PS is presented. The parameters of the beam as well

Rapidity gaps and color evolution in QCD hard scattering
We discuss rapidity-gap events between two jets produced at high momentum
transfer in scattering, from the point of view of the soft energy
flow into the interjet region. We define a gap cross section and, in
perturbative QCD (pQCD), resum all the leading logarithms in the soft
intermediate energy. We show that the numerical result from our cross section
reproduces the shape of the D0 and CDF \cite{D0,CDF,D0fig} experimental data.Comment: Talk given at the International Euroconference on Quantum

The non-forward BFKL amplitude and rapidity gap physics
We discuss the BFKL approach to processes with large momentum transferred
through a rapidity gap. The Mueller and Tang scheme to the BFKL non-forward
parton-parton elastic scattering amplitude at large , is extended to include
higher conformal spins. The new contributions are found to decrease with
increasing energy, as follows from the gluon reggeisation phenomenon, and to
vanish for asymptotically high energies. However, at moderate energies and high
, the higher conformal spins dominate the amplitude. We illustrate the
effects by studying the production of two high jets separated by a
rapidity gap at HERA energies. In a simplified framework, we find excellent
agreement with the HERA photoproduction data once we incorporate the rapidity
gap survival probability against soft rescattering effects. We emphasize that
measurements of the analogous process in electroproduction may probe different

Leptoquark Contribution to the Higgs Boson Production at the LHC Collider
In this report we study how a light-scalar leptoquark could affect the Higgs
boson production cross-section at the LHC collider. We construct the most
general renormalizable and gauge invariant effective Lagrangian involving the
standard model particles and a scalar, isoscalar leptoquark, \eta.
The total cross-section for pp -> H+X is then calculated for different values
of the unknown parameters \lambda_eta, m_eta and m_H.(Here \lambda_eta is the
coupling associated with the Higgs-leptoquark interaction.)
We find that if \lambda_eta is moderately large and m_eta is around a few
hundred GeV, then the cross-section is significantly larger than the standard

Present Limits on the Precision of SM Predictions for Jet Energies
We investigate the impact of theoretical uncertainties on the accuracy of
measurements involving hadronic jets. The analysis is performed using events
with a Z boson and a single jet observed in collisions at
= 1.96 TeV in 4.6 of data from the Collider Detector at
Fermilab (CDF). The transverse momenta (\pt) of the jet and the boson should
balance each other due to momentum conservation in the plane transverse to the
direction of the and beams. We evaluate the dependence of the
measured \pt-balance on theoretical uncertainties associated with initial and
final state radiation, choice of renormalization and factorization scales,
parton distribution functions, jet-parton matching, calculations of matrix
elements, and parton showering. We find that the uncertainty caused by parton
showering at large angles is the largest amongst the listed uncertainties. The
proposed method can be re-applied at the LHC experiments to investigate and
evaluate the uncertainties on the predicted jet energies. The distributions
produced at the CDF environment are intended for comparison to those from
modern event generators and new tunes of parton showering.Comment: Submitted to Nucl. Instr. and Meth.
Signals for Vector Leptoquarks in Hadronic Collisions
We analyze systematically the signatures of vector leptoquarks in hadronic
collisions. We examine their single and pair productions, as well as their
effects on the production of lepton pairs. Our results indicate that a machine
like the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will be able to unravel the existence
of vector leptoquarks with masses up to the range of -- TeV.Comment: 15 pages and 5 figures (available upon request or through anonymous

Signal and Backgrounds for Leptoquarks at the LHC II: Vector Leptoquarks
We perform a detailed analyses of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
capability to discover first generation vector leptoquarks through their pair
production. We study the leptoquark signals and backgrounds that give rise to
final states containing a pair e+e- and jets. Our results show that the LHC
will be able to discover vector leptoquarks with masses up to 1.3-2.1 TeV
depending on their couplings to fermions and gluons.Comment: 18 pages, 3 figures, REVTe
Moments of the Proton F2 Structure Function at Low Q2
The Q^2 dependence of inclusive electron-proton scattering F_2 structure
function data in both the nucleon resonance region and the deep inelastic
region, at momentum transfers below 5 (GeV/c)^2, is investigated. Moments of
F_2 are constructed, down to momentum transfers of Q^2 ~ 0.1 (GeV/c)^2. The
second moment is only slowly varying with Q^2 down to Q^2 ~ 1 (GeV/c)^2, which
is a reflection of duality. Below Q^2 of 1 (GeV/c)^2, the Q^2 dependence of the
moments is predominantly governed by the elastic contribution, whereas the
inelastic channels still seem governed by local duality.Comment: 11 page paper, 1 LaTeX file, 10 postscript figure file
Production of Pairs of Sleptoquarks in Hadron Colliders
We calculate the cross section for the production of pairs of scalar
leptoquarks (sleptoquarks) in a supersymmetric model, at hadron
colliders. We estimate higher order corrections by including terms
induced by soft-gluon corrections. Discovery bounds on the sleptoquark mass are
estimated at collider energies of 1.8, 2, and 4 TeV (Tevatron), and 16 TeV
