Teegi: Tangible EEG Interface
We introduce Teegi, a Tangible ElectroEncephaloGraphy (EEG) Interface that
enables novice users to get to know more about something as complex as brain
signals, in an easy, en- gaging and informative way. To this end, we have
designed a new system based on a unique combination of spatial aug- mented
reality, tangible interaction and real-time neurotech- nologies. With Teegi, a
user can visualize and analyze his or her own brain activity in real-time, on a
tangible character that can be easily manipulated, and with which it is
possible to interact. An exploration study has shown that interacting with
Teegi seems to be easy, motivating, reliable and infor- mative. Overall, this
suggests that Teegi is a promising and relevant training and mediation tool for

Information Systems and Health Care-III: Diffusing Healthcare Knowledge: A Case Study of the Care Delivery Network
This article describes the experience of the Care Delivery Network as it promoted the successful diffusion of an innovative stroke treatment protocol across a wide range of healthcare institutions and practitioners in southeastern Ontario, Canada. The article is founded on research by Adler, Kwon, and Signer on knowledge management in professional communities. The Care Delivery Network case provides partial to strong empirical support for 17 Adler et al. research propositions. The article concludes with a summary of lessons learned and strategies for information and knowledge dissemination in professional settings
Budd-Chiari syndrome recurring in a transplanted liver
A patient with Budd-Chiari syndrome who underwent orthotopic liver transplantation and developed recurrent disease is described. The immediate postoperative period was complicated by multiple thrombotic episodes, followed by a period of apparent remission associated with the initiation of coumadin and persantine therapy. After discontinuation of such antithrombotic therapy in order to biopsy the liver, the patient experienced another series of clinically overt vascular thromboses and ultimately died of sepsis 15 mo posttransplantation after a prolonged and complicated terminal hospital course. At autopsy, recurrent Budd-Chiari syndrome as well as thromboses in numerous other organs was demonstrated. © 1983
Mean-field calculations of quasi-elastic responses in 4He
We present calculations of the quasi-elastic responses functions in 4He based
upon a mean-field model used to perform analogous calculations in heavier
nuclei. The meson exchange current contribution is small if compared with the
results of calculations where short-range correlations are explicitly
considered. It is argued that the presence of these correlations in the
description of the nuclear wave functions is crucial to make meson exchange

New bird records for the island of Lombok
Seventeen species are recorded for the first time from the island of Lombok. Nine of these are maritime birds on passage and four are widely occurring migrant shore and land birds. Gallirallus striatus may be a local migrant, Chrysococcyx basalis is a visitor from Australia, and Anthreples malaccensis is presumed to be either a previously overlooked resident or a recent colonist. Hemiprocne longipenis, previously unrecorded from the Lesser Sundas, appears to be a recent colonist
Delta Excitations in Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering
We derive the contribution of -h excitations to quasielastic
charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering in the framework of relativistic
mean-field theory. We discuss the effect of production on the

Current-voltage scaling of a Josephson-junction array at irrational frustration
Numerical simulations of the current-voltage characteristics of an ordered
two-dimensional Josephson junction array at an irrational flux quantum per
plaquette are presented. The results are consistent with an scaling analysis
which assumes a zero temperature vortex glass transition. The thermal
correlation length exponent characterizing this transition is found to be
significantly different from the corresponding value for vortex-glass models in
disordered two-dimensional superconductors. This leads to a current scale where
nonlinearities appear in the current-voltage characteristics decreasing with
temperature roughly as in contrast with the behavior expected

Velocity quantization approach of the one-dimensional dissipative harmonic oscillator
Given a constant of motion for the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator with
linear dissipation in the velocity, the problem to get the Hamiltonian for this
system is pointed out, and the quantization up to second order in the
perturbation approach is used to determine the modification on the eigenvalues
when dissipation is taken into consideration. This quantization is realized
